1. wow - that's pretty cheap - excellent cabs
2. I would really like a 5 string j sonic
3. Very nice - but what's going on with the stringing at the headstock?
4. hmm, not quite sure what they're going for now - I'm sure I've seen them in the past selling for about £400-450 - I'm actually looking to get one so let me know when you've decided on a price. I've got a lakland bob glaub up for sale/trade if that interests you at all? R
5.
I suggested a trade of a 6er - interested at all?
ooh -sorry, I had meant to pm you - pm about to be sent
6. I've never understood the 'sound of wood' motto when used to sell primarily active, and zingy, honky sounding instruments. I'm not a fan of warwicks (in my hands) apart from the SS1 5 string, but the guy who used to play in bossk got a wicked tone from his detuned thumb.
7.
Now lets not get giddy
Indeed ;D I was staunchly anti-warwick for a little while - but I've played a few good ones now (and lots of crap ones) and have realised the error of my ways...nearly. I really like the streamer stage 1 5 string - but they're a little out of my budget and I'd rather buy an SR5 for slightly less. A lakland 5501 right now would be top
8. I'm probably even ready to give a warwick another go
9.
Five string Glaubs could well be a reality very soon. I hear that there are three US Glaub five-strings being made at the moment and if the demand is high enough they will make Skyline versions.
Tits - has anyone got anything they fancy trading? I'm skint but fancy something new to play with - a six string sounds fun right now
10. I find the mid cut/shape to be a bit crap but the tone booster is wicked, a 5 string version would suit me down to the ground
11. awesome - it reminds me of Jermaine's bass from flight of the conchords ;D would you accept an octave multiplexer (newer small unit) + £20?
12. Yep, it's the villex equipped bob glaub that's pretty much the village bicycle around here - although it's had a few months with me now ;D I had an opportunity to gig it a month back at a covers gig but I enjoy playing my DJ5 so much I just went with that - as a result, it's just sitting at home. It's a wicked bass - I only wish lakland made a 5 string version, I'd be on the lookout for one in a flash. Rather than reuse previous owners pics - I'm going to take some of my own this evening. I'm looking for a trade for a fretted 5 or 6 string, or a fretless 4/5/6 string - no idea what, although I'd quite like something modern and possibly humbucker equipped - a lakland 5501 would be perfect but I'm open to suggestions - a yamaha TRB6 would be cool aswell. Open to offers trade wise with a value of around £500 - I could be persuaded to take one or two 1x12 cabs in a trade/part ex - or a markbass traveller 2x10 pics asap. Russ ps - I'm usually somewhere around egham, guildford, brighton, worthing or chichester. ------------------------------------------------------- Here's the long overdue video demonstrating the electronics - firstly, the strings are brand new elites stadiums 40-100, lighter than my usual 45's they've not had chance to calm down and I've not bothered to sort the truss rod out to compensate for the lower tension - so forgive the w***y nature of the clip, I got carried away It does sort of do the job though. I start with the booster off and the tone rolled back a tiny bit, do a bit of fingerstyle and a bit of slap before going up to the next setting. I then turn the booster off and turn the mid shape to 50% followed by 100%, then 50% on mid shape and #2 on booster ... I think, can't really remember but you can hear the differences - I think it sounds excellent even with the zingy strings. When they finally bring out a skyline 5 string glaub, I'm having one. It sounds Tits M'Chicken with a pick aswell.
13. I don't know - have you checked their website?
14. The 1x15 alex made for me is wicked - stupidly light aswell
15. cheers guys ;D It's one vote per day per ip address - so if you fancy voting again tomorrow, from home and work, that would be awesome Cheers!
16. Not sure what's near you in the way of guitar shops - peavey bass stuff is quite prolific, you should be able to find a 410tvx fairly easily - try gumtree out.
17. That's cool - If I was looking for a cheap stand alone cab, I'd go for a peavey 410 tvx - they weigh a bit but I'm always impressed at how good they sound- new they're about £230 - secondhand, I've seen them for as low as £100 Other than that - a used warwick 411 pro or hartke xl 4x10 would be a good bet I've always found a 1x15 on its own to be difficult to hear live and I wouldn't touch the laney stuff with a pooey stick. The marshall dbs range was a bit naff in my opinion, gigged a 4x10 + 1x15 dbs rig a couple of months ago - couldn't hear the low stuff at all - I'm not familiar with the mbc stuff however.
18. Out of interest - what is limiting your shortlist to these 4 cabs?

20. still available
21. Hi guys - I'm 99% sure I'm going to change my cab setup, I'm going to be doing more acoustic gigs in the future and would like two 1x12 cabs - I'm after buying Walbassist's epifani's and am therefore looking to shift my trusty markbass front ported 2x10. It's a stunning cab, I bought it when MB stuff first started getting sold over here and it's served me well. Most of the time I use it on it's own - it's a stunning standalone cab and I have never lacked volume or low end, I use 5 string basses and really boost the bass, it never bottoms out on me. I used to have a pair of them at one point, but a single one was so good I ended up shifting one. It's the same on paper as the current line- the only difference is the colour of the speakers, grille and logo - In fact, I tried one of the very newest ones and it lacked the bottom end of the models with the dual rows of ports, which is a shame. 400watts 8ohms I'm located in Egham, Surrey - but I work in Guildford and travel to Brighton, Chichester and Worthing regularly - I'd be more than happy to meet half way provided you're not too far away ;D £325 collected - Russ
22. these are great - I gigged one of the yellow ones for years
23. I'm still on the lookout for something small to use with my LMII at acoustic gigs - a single 1x12 will do, I've got one of those markbass tilt stands so it doesn't need to be a wedge cab
24. I've got my eye on those too ;D - although a single one would do me for small acoustic gigs
