1. I'm interested, have you got a shipping quote to mainland uk? R
2. I've got a couple of laklands, a DJ5 and that villex modded Bob Glaub that was doing the rounds on here a couple of months ago. The BG is great - really good neck, the whole thing feels really well made. I'd love to use it more but I can't get away without a 5 so it only comes out for the odd practice It has turned on my interest for a P or PJ 5 string though R
3. I found the same thing with the 2 SR5's I've owned - I couldn't get away with the preamp left supposedly 'flat' - I always had a ton of mid and bass boost. My lakland DJ5 however is completely passive and has way more apparent low end than even my old SR5HH.
4. Hopefully they'll still be about by the 27th - If they do what I need them to, I'll have them. See you later this month ;D R
5. I'm very interested - I seem to remember seeing you were bringing them along to the bash in Guildford, is this still the case?
6. I remember trying one of these when I bought my original std102h - It's a great cab
7. I'm really really looking forward to hearing that orangtino
8. I've used ampeg svx quite extensively - It's good but I still get a better tone DI'd and then re-amped through svx if it needs it. Make sure you use a DI box between your bass and soundcard (not necessarily a sansamp or equivalent - a bog standard DI) - it'll make all the difference. +1 for a touch of dirt - a little goes a long way, even if you're after a clean tone.
9. This 2 port version is better than the newer single one in my opinion - bump from me

11. I recently moved to Egham in Surrey - I still play in a band in Sussex but I'm looking for something to occupy my time closer to home aswell. I'm not too fussed what genre, as long as the music is good and original - I get the odd dep gig for a function band in Brighton which is about as much of that as I'm after at this point. My other band is an electronic/rock band - you can hear some of my playing here - www.myspace.com/thedopplershift or www.thedopplershift.com. I've got transport, decent equipment, a sense of humor and an open mind. I've got loads of gigging experience in bands of all genres and I've also done plenty of studio based stuff particularly over the last few years (there are one or two cheesy radio jingles out there with my bass on) I like to listen to a large variety of stuff but am currently listening to; The Mars Volta, Martin Grech, Sikth, Textures, Tool, Soulwax, Radiohead, Thom Yorke, Justice, Queens of the Stoneage, Kyuss, Pantera, Sly and the family stone, curtis mayfield, tower of power etc etc- a fair mixture. Cheers ;D Russ
12. I've got a skyline DJ5 and it's stunning, I've owned the following in my search for a good Jazz 5 type bass. Sadowsky tokyo UV 70's 5 Sei J5 Fender deluxe J5 Roscoe Beck 5 Lakland DJ5 Lakland 55-02 Stingray 5 HH Aswell as numerous other 5's - the DJ5 is my favourite by far and it does it without a preamp, it really doesn't need one - I bought mine used but they're well worth full whack new, the build quality is flawless. R
13. Count me in, I'll bring the following Lakland DJ5 and the villex modded bob glaub everyone kept moving on every couple of days - I love it. depending on whether I can be arsed, I'll also bring my Markbass LMII, 102HF cab and the stupidly light 1x15 alex claber built for me.

15. None in stock I've got a spare uber padded beez laptop backpack that I'm using instead - I'm keeping all my leads in it aswell. had a gig with the LMII last night - I'd forgotten how good these amps are regardless of the size and weight advantages.
16.
Can you stick them on youtube? I can't see them on my Mac.
Download and install the Flip4mac wmv quicktime component -HERE- R
17. My experience of the Bass Cellar was being sold a Warwick corvette 'proline' - this was many years ago and I hadn't been playing long, but I later found out that bass wasn't a proline at all but a swamp ash standard model, the truss rod cover had been changed but staff at a bass specialist shop should have been able to tell a mile off- I was 16/17 at the time and it had taken me ages to save up for, as far as I'm aware there was a fair price difference between the two models. Needless to say, this was the last and only money I've spent there. I've had great service at GAK from Graham and Mark in particular and Alex at the Gallery - although I keep myself occupied with secondhand kit mostly, If I buy something new, it comes from these guys. R
18. The markbass one sounds great, albeit lacking a touch in the upper midrange - for my tastes. definitely worth a try + it's a really good weight.
19. This cab seems a bit pointless when there are so many decent and light 1x12 cabs appearing on the market, their own are pretty good. I tried out one of the new 102HF's the other day with an LM2 - it didn't seem to have as much depth as my older model, it sounded more like the 102p combo with emphasis on the midrange, it looks like it's undergone quite a redesign with the reduced overall port size - odd.
20. just gone with eude's advice and bought a dgms from bassdirect - £25 delivered Cheers guys ;D r
21. quite possibly sir - R
22. I'm sure there was a post about this already but I can't bloody find it- I've just come back to markbass having bought an LMII - I had one of the old yellow models for a few years right after they were launched in the UK, back then the official case wasn't quite so prohibitively expensive as the new version. I doubt people are paying £60-70 or whatever it costs now- so what are you all using to lug around your LM's? Cheers! R
23. BUMP £375 without the rack an extra £25 for the rack if you want it
24. Hi Nik - I might have this off of Tony, I'll check my finances and will get back to you asap
