5.
Congrats on acquiring the GK head Russ! Your rig's going to sound amazing with the SR5 HH when it's finished
Cheers Nik, I was uber impressed by your 700RB the other night, I ended up getting the 1001 at a really good price new - Should be here on tuesday and I'll get to put it through its paces on wednesday at practice - I may not need another cab but the rock factor of a big rig on stage is sounding really appealing again, bollocks to my back I'm 22- it's got at least 2 years of lugging an 8x10 around left in it.
6. Hi - I've settled on a markbass 152HR so my STD102H is now available Mega punchy and bassy- an excellent standalone cab, I used to have a pair but it was overkill at the time. It's been great with a 5 string. It's the older model which is exactly the same as the new one but with black speakers and a silver logo - actually the very latest version only has one strip of ports on the bottom. Nice and light, one hand lift. £325 + shipping And here it is stacked on my new 152HR with my brother for scale ;D IMPEDANCE 8 ohms SPEAKER SIZE 2x10 in. BASS PORTS front TWEETER 1" compression driver with custom horn POWER HANDLING 400W RMS (AES Standard) CROSSOVER FREQUENCY 3.5 kHz FREQUENCY RESPONSE 40 Hz to 20 kHz SENSITIVITY 101 dB SPL WEIGHT 49.8 lbs / 22.6 kg WIDTH 23.4 in. / 59.4 cm HEIGHT 21.6 in. / 55 cm DEPTH 18.9 in. / 48 cm
7. great bass this, I owned it for a while ;D
8. I've had this compressor for quite a few years now but my brother bought me a punch factory for christmas which I'm using instead now. I used to use this at every gig, It was even nearly blown up when my gig backpack was stolen and left under brighton pier- the police declared it a 'suspicious package' until I called reporting the theft. But anyway- it's an excellent compressor, really usable for bass and doesn't squish the hell out of the signal. This isn't my pic but it's identical to mine. Includes an alesis 9v psu Reduced to £45 shipped in mainland uk ---------- I also have an ART Tube MP preamp - a pretty good DI box and great for a cheap recording solution for instruments and mics also requires a 9v psu - I don't have a spare [SOLD] Russ
9. ps- insured shipping is £17.50 in mainland UK - maybe slightly less after I measure the box properly r
10.
Hey I have an ampeg b100r that I might be selling. Whats your feelings about that?
Hi- cheers for the offer, I'm after a GK rig though thanks ;D Russ
11. Roland cube 30 bass This is a fantastic little practice amp- loads of great tones, it's louder than you might think and handles a low B really well. One of the few practice amps in its class to have a tweeter it seems :/ I don't really use it any more- it sits in my front room whilst I practice with my pandora px4b - excellent condition - full working order http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product.asp?id=2464 £80 collected - I will ship it if I can find a decent enough box, may also meet half way. Russ
12. Yep the orange object above the amp is a shuker- this was taken quite a while ago, that bass wasn't for me ;D
13. Hi is the head still available?
14. I'd also be interested in the head on the off chance it's still available
15. Hi- I'm after selling my littlemark having bought a GK 1001RB mk2. It's the older yellow model which sounds 99% the same as the newer models. 280W @ 8 ohms 450W @ 4 ohms it's sodding loud with a single 8 ohm cab- I've been using it with a MB 2x10 for ages- it can take anything I can throw at it, 5 string included. Perfect working order, never had a problem with it - only a couple of little scratches in the paint Includes the markbass shoulder bag £250 cash firm, I may be open to other trade offers- only on speaker cabs though- I'm after a markbass 1x15 or 2x10 Cheers ;D Russ
16.
Soft treble and prominent upper mids mainly. The sort of sound that takes the brittleness off a jazz bass and makes the bridge pickup sound fatter.
I agree with this, but I quite like it - their upper range heads are a bit flatter and the high frequencies seem way more open - the little mark head is pretty compressed sounding but I still think it works fantastically well live I'm looking at getting either a 121 or 102 combo to use with my std 102h cabinet
17. I have one the same as this except for a rosewood fretboard- it's certainly an awful lot better than the american fender jazz I had
18. very tempting - I'll have to sleep on the idea overnight ;D
19. pm about to be sent
20.
I apologise for asking bud, I appreciate where you're coming from. This bass is in beautiful condition for something from 65. I am reading that correctly yes, it's not a reissue is it? Mark
It'll be a CIJ reissue- it's from ishibashi, they're bloody excellent
21. blimey- I've been after one of these for a while now
22. Hi- Have you got any recordings you could fire over? r
