  1. @Quatschmacher I hate Velcro at the moment, and these guys are pretty cool https://templeboards.co.uk/pages/size-planner These May be worth a try https://www.joyoaudio.co.uk/joyo-accessories-music-lights-capo/JOYO-rockdriver-pedal-case-board/JOYO-GPB-02-Pedalboard-and-bag Personally I just made my own
  2. Bought a pick up from Chris - legend dealer, easy peasy, quick and simple
  3. For the record, most pick ups are passive (there are a few active ones out there) it’s normally the preamp which is active
  4. Agree with the above guys - play them first and see how they feel. Also it utterly depends on what you play through, pre-amp, amp, cab etc. Someone else Fave pick ups, May not be the ones for you. For example I am naturally drawn to pick ups most people don’t have! If you specify if you want a more vintage/a more modern sound then you will get a nod in the right direction and there are loads out there I will give a big nod to a UK manufacturer in Creamery pick ups, and he will wind to your tastes
  5. Can’t argue with the above, done the same and with a Supertwin Second Hand you can get the VTBass500 very reasonably Also as the gentleman said, it’s all about taste, it may work for you sonically
  6. Just the bad ones then...... I’ll amend to great guy to deal with
  7. They of course have exotics for woods and tops etc. But standard is Alder, and loads of fingerboard options It will probably say on your email order confirmation?
  8. I think it’s generally Alder if I remember right as a default, happy to be corrected
  9. It’ll be great - Tech21 rules. Played and used the VTBass 500 head which is very good.
  10. Another thing to remember about overdrives/fuzz/distortion and keeping low end is there is a difference in pedals between keeping the low end and adding low end in as to how they will sound. Those that actively add low end, will sound different to others
  11. Saw on a site in USA that the short scale sandberg was priced at about 1.2k dollars
  12. With this, I don’t need those middle aged man pills...
  13. These are great little tools for home practice or performance GLWTS
  14. Haha - you already i know i would be bananas for this.....
  15. Tech21 DP3X if you dial it right and use your tone knob on your bass Lehle Sonic Spark Tech21 VT Bass Hartke VXL bass attack (first Gen) Two Notes LeBass - again you have to dial it right, lots of extreme examples out there but it does subtle. Demon pedals The Parvati
  16. Incorrect Thats Wisbech and that’s Cambridgeshire
  17. I like a hartke too That is a shame i hear he used to at least be on TB - have you posted there?
  18. If the shell of the bass is decent, why not gut it and pop new electrics?
  19. If anyone is interested in Paulownia, here is a website. https://worldpaulownia.com/technical/ It’s used in structural beams, clogs, ships, furniture, is quick growing and probably therefore decent for the environment in replacing it. I always say, never say never until you’ve had some experience with it, but we make our own choices in our own ways. @Raslee option for doing a bitsa to your specs?
  20. I wouldn’t worry about the ‘soft’ woods - we had this debate when it was announced and the fact Cedar has been used for years in ship building I don’t think should deter people from having it as a bass. Hohner Jack is a great idea, or even a hohner headless
