  1. As in they have numerous neck profiles they were shaped to for a number of years which are on the G&L website looking at depth, radius, shape etc. Modern C, classic etc. For example the #12 neck is very much their PJ so between the 2. #8 is super skinny profile, #6 (I think, could be 7) was very wide like about 44mm but flat and hence was fat. I have lost touch, and they may have stopped that as much now, but there was certainly some variation for a time depending on what someone ordered, and they seemed to go with a #12 as a default for a period, as I say I may be out of touch. It may well say in the case candy. cheers
  2. It won’t surprise you to know that loads of people probably don’t do a full twiddle on something they get. Me, I like to have a proper sit and play with all dials notch by notch and cover the whole range in anything I get, and reserve judgement until I have done that. Congrats tho - sounds like it is piecing together nicely
  3. Sorry - not meaning to be harsh - no malice intended on my behalf fella - most of my comments sound very similar tho, but I even bore myself
  4. Which number neck?
  5. That all gear sounds the same thread is a very very seriously researched and made thread. Next you’ll start be facetious and say all comments sound the same....
  6. What if someone has P and Rick fingers.....
  7. Andrew Patrick Wood Compressorhead next?!
  8. It’s become blatantly obvious all gear sounds the same. I am talking literally everything, basses, amps, cabs, PA’s, pedals within their respective category, strings. The only thing that makes a difference is the tonewood and compression. Those that think otherwise forgot to ask Santa for the gift musicality for Christmas consistently for their entire life. Also people who mainly play with a pick are superior in every way. This way tone can only be in the Finger - not plural. While I am here, chordal type players don’t count, they can do one to the guitarchat sister site. I am not wrong, I have read every post of every single thread on this site and this is the logical conclusion, hence no poll - discuss if you wish, but....... oh and a happy new year
  9. ACS custom - they have a load of hearing shops around the country that will do the mould of your ear, send it off, a week or so later you have excellent plugs - they even do laser etching so you can write a sweet message on them for this looking at your ears. Pro 15s if you are singing in any way, pro 17s should be enough, but obvs slightly less definition. Great for actual gigs to see live, turns it into a very pleasurable experience
  10. Don’t - it won’t be as good as your home cooking, aside from specialists basses I’d put my home mash ups (not self carved btw) against any mainstream ones out there as equal if it better
  11. New version is not a patch on the old version - May look a little more polished and smaller, but they have changed the EQ, points, electronics slightly or something - it’s not the same beast and not for the better. Stick with the old
  12. Don’t forget it’s brushed metal as well
  13. Hep - hence the ....ish. i used to like their reviews, then they openly told me they do not do a review unless it’s financed by the company who makes what they are reviewing. Pointless - they will never put out a ‘bad’ review, although you may be able to glean stuff from a less than positive one
  14. Bloody Santa sent me a rip off.....
  15. Could be an iPhone thing, even tried listening in a browser Still no joy Oh well - sure it sounds great
  16. But we are all Robert Paulson
  17. Helix alternative by Boss review....ish.....
  18. Could be me but the sound was completely corrupted - it was like listening to in one Atlantis - couldn’t hear a thing
  19. Hold tight for Jaime, it’s prob a holiday glitch - pop him an email direct just in case - they are so worth it
  20. It’s not sexy
  21. We can do a bass share - I’ll take days of the week with an R in
  22. Cheers Cam - that ‘77 bass is the nuts!! @AndyTravis that would go well with your brown basses fetish
  23. That looks very very smart buddy - congrats on that - defo a head time head required!
  24. I think the best thing Yammy have done is to make their pick ups standard size - take the template and pop in the pick up you like. Best of all worlds
  25. Nowt
