Never had a Ray, but the Gas grows everyday. Congrats
-
Done both either way - it’s always just come down to what I feel comfortable playing string gauge/tension wise
-
TI flats on my TT4 - sound great
-
They prolly sound better....
-
Not that many then.......

Garageband is very underrated- great for playing along with, and of course free. I used the iRigHD as well but just recently picked up the Focusrite iTrack One Pre - with this little fella it’s even better as you get a better sound before the preamp distorts In the studio effects part the vintage tube effect does a pretty good job for a nice tone to play along with
-
They come with a multi function plug with different country adapters, so you can slide the ones on and off you need - that’s pretty good and universal. As for a power socket near where you play - they can’t quite think of everything
-
If only they did a maxi fly rig with Geddy, dUg and SH1 all in the same box, maybe throw the Ripper in there for fun
-
The Tech21 ‘Signature’ pedals are basically a box to achieve that person’s sound, but each of them do so much more. Incredibly well made, flexible and great sounding machines
-
He has toured it and Tech21 are pretty thorough in matching and road testing stuff

Interesting point. What defines someone as ‘worthy’ enough for a sig pedal/bass/amp?

I get you - I suppose they that are Stomp/helix/fractal/kemper and DI out - less of an issue - drums always could be tho.... -

If you can travel light and use a supplied kit or backline - train an option? -

Cracking job all around Be proud of that Bass rig from Basschat too! -
Not sure what’s worse here, his playing or the fact that they canned the demo i did for them in favour of this, saying this was better............. I blame the cheap guitar as normally I sound excellent the more expensive the kit I use
-
Well is it because I believe what they say and hear a perceived difference or is there an actual difference when I play through the Barefaced One10 range vs the Supertwin? When I listen to a bass through a Tube amp vs a class D one with tube emulation type drive sounds be it analogue or digital again is the weight of opinion for one vs the other swaying my view. Probably to a degree, but whatever it is I’ll prefer one to the other and go with what I like
-
That would of course need a completely flat and neutral amp
-
Someone one probably should have coined AFAP As Flat As Possible

Change the R7 resistor, add a capacitor to the tone pot, it’s useable!

Yeah that’s about right in a nutshell, but I didn’t really gel with the stock sound anyways. For what ever stuff pedals etc I was using in my chain I felt it lacked subtly to tone shape because it was a bit more brash overall. Personally I think Leo was compensating for his overall and high end hearing loss when winding these pick ups to our back what he couldn’t hear, but if you don’t suffer that, it makes it too much . The L1500 really was fingernails on a blackboard Essentially, craftsmanship great, pick ups and electronics not my bag and lack of ability to easily change the pick ups. Thats my view, I really wanted to keep my ASAT’s which are the same circuit as they were beautiful

For me it’s was the power of the signal hitting anything else you use made it difficult to switch between basses without big changes in any dials as well as the pre amp settings which by default nod towards treble harsh, which you can of course dial down, but goes back to the problem for me of changing basses and settings etc. Well made basses, but in not having regular sized pick ups, taking an excellently made bass and modding it then becomes an issue. I always have felt that if you are someone that is Bass to amp and nowt else - these are great basses. Now with things like the Stomp or a Helix where you can set up a separate patch for each bass it makes it more viable For me, these issues as well as a wealth of options which can be modded one the same price range make it less popular
