  1. Not really - no less controversial than saying turdburst and tort look amazing or lashings of gold hardware on a bass make it look luxurious.
  2. Pointy headstock was better
  3. Good work Tech21, good info from you. Thanks
  4. So to close the loop, big thanks to @itu for patiently helping me to get the diagram right, I wired it series parallel in the end, here is the schematic for the interested.... And a massive 👏🏿 To @mybass for sculpting a cracking piece of wood into a gorgeous bass, I feel privileged to have popped together. Awesome Gotoh resolite GB 350 tuners, Atelier Z pick ups, TI flats. Sounds very very nice
  5. If you don’t mind waiting you pick up Fender parts second hand from various countries where they have been manufactured, mighty Mite are good, Allparts are good, status so great necks for Stingrays or fender pockets, depends whether you want the ease of an all in one kit, or just shop around. Then there is the cool part of electronics but that’s a whole other story
  6. If it’s the same (and I haven’t seen another DG pre amp on my travels) it’s a nice piece of kit
  7. Yep, I know the tone capsule well, it was more in relation to the comment there is no control of the mids, whereas actually this seems to nicely control the mids more than a traditional bass/mid/treble would
  8. Is it not the DG tone capsule?
  9. Aye, those tunes I think are off those albums
  10. Ok They have been around since 1980, you would have heard their music at some point on your travels, for me the best albums were early 90s If you fancy check Out of Time, Automatic for the People and Monster
  11. @Bluewine @FinnDave have you both honestly never heard of REM? Janes Addiction were awesome and pretty big, but possibly a little more niche.
  12. These rule
  13. @krispn you’re not talking sense are you......
  14. Rug and antlers
  15. Cheers fella - I am a regular follower of your wall poster pictures with the occasional bass thrown in!
  16. Are those rugs from Castle Black or Jason and the Argonauts?
  17. If I was up north east, it would probably be clumsy me popping in for a play and my jaw dropping on it, it’s such a good looking beast
  18. Nice work son - you need to play some wear into that, the finish is looking too pristine
  19. That’s fighting talk, it’s already been decreed Helix can’t do synth
  20. And that was exactly my point. Depending on the synth of course, But it will struggle with fast lines surely - any type of envelope, or opening and embellishment of the note would require space, so if you try a fast line on that kind of synth, it will sound pants on any synth
  21. I’ll let you off slapping, just this once
  22. I get you on that and was doing that. It’s still not Lickety split - jump a bank of ten - take care not to kiss your bank or go all the way around, press and hold, get preset between 1-10, release and lock - it’s not intuitive no matter how good it sounds in the flesh as we both have said Midi makes it easier. This is a practical thing and I would have no qualms about PC editing etc. Its not denigrating the pedal, but it is a faff, and to my ears in a comparison test and in its own right, The Stomp has very useable synth sounds which would make the majority of people happy both player and audience, IMHO especially for those that don’t want to faff too much and have an all in one package.
  23. It was by no means a deep dive but merely scrolling between and activating presets and sounds was an absolute ballache and put me right off. That sort of useability is what I am in about
