  1. @dannybuoy don’t disagree with you but I don’t agree with the massive chasm in the mids, they are there and you can shift them with the button, but I do agree with it’s place being in a band. There is not a hole and it dormant sound all scooped and honky like a Stingay, but the focus certainly is more towards lower and upper end, but you can get a very very good clean sound on it. You can certainly get a more old school ‘tube’ type vibe if you either roll the tone off, or indeed using my jazz with flatwounds it gives a very pleasing sound along those lines.
  2. Pop both together, it’s a no brainer, this is me sonic spark and DP3x and covers a whole heap of territory...
  3. Lehle Basswitch DI will give you a bucket tonne of options
  4. @Bobby D has 3 preamps with DI’s for sale on here right now, one being a Sadowsky......
  5. Tech21 DP3X is the nuts. You want cheap as chips and bombproof 1st Gen Hartke VXL (normally around £50 second hand) with great sounds, Not my cuppa but some of the Darkglass pedals have DI outs - out of all of them the AO is easily the best. Two Notes LeBass Aguilar Tonehammer For a straight DI box you could go REDDI or Khan to enhance your sound. My vote is the Tech21 DP3x for having it all in a tiny package, so good I think @Dood did 2 reviews on it!
  6. It works brilliantly and you can go as gloss as you want takes something like this... to this for a mid gloss
  7. That’s fine and essentially wet sanding which does indeed grain fill as you go. Some people use dilute Tru oil with white spirits for the first couple of wet sands as it goes further, then pure Tru oil, but it’s all good either way
  8. Have to agree with the above, and saying it doesn’t matter really treats a live audience with disrespect, especially when it has been said that it actually does matter in music, the two statements are in actual conflict. Why go to all the bother to practice your socks to get a tight band groove and then fall at the last hurdle and not sure something already owned which could help to balance the sound? Rather than compression being hocus pocus its more likely due to lack of understanding in applying it appropriately.
  9. P bass lyte has a super skinny neck
  10. https://reverb.com/item/25361058-sandberg-tm5-custom-sybil-the-original-patchwork-bass
  11. Yeah agreed, they also have double stop levers so if you did need to drop lower, you can drop further
  12. Time to rectify that then methinks, installation is a breeze You could go mad and fit multiple ones! Fantastic invention, they really are and gives you loads of options for playing all kinds of music.
  13. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Hipshot,_Xtenders.html probably the BT10 will do it for you buddy D tuners are the nuts
  14. Whatever works with oil Clear pickguard
  15. Demon Pedals - The Pavarti Gamechanger Audio - Plasma Pedal Tech21 - Red Ripper
  16. Gratuitous toe picture - are they porky podgers included in the sale?
  17. Standard wiring tone pot, or are you tempted by a tonestyler....?!
  18. Those pick ups are fantastic and if that wood resonates as well/good as it looks, it’s a winning combination
  19. I think I pm’d you various videos as well did I?
  20. I’ve shown you pictures of mine buddy in various states, this is what I used https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00162NPZ8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
  21. Schecter are bloody great, bitsa with the right parts can be done for very little money. Sandberg are brilliant and the Electra range is great value as it’s put together back in Germany so great QC. ESP often get overlooked, but again, real good bases, not even ‘for the money’. Remember a Bass is a shell, you can pick up a half decent body and whack a different pick up in it
  22. Remember it’s not just fender that make good P’s, other makes do them too and neck profiles may suit you. My bitsa P with a status neck would happily compete side by side with anything the fender factory churned out, but also there is a G&L LB100 for sale on here I think, and they are killer bases too. Probably my other bitsa P with a creamery 58 pick up and tonestyler knob would also do the job. Loads to have fun with out there
  23. These are the beans and this is a great price GLWTS
