  1. I suppose they can’t be bothered to queue
  2. You always wear a hat, bassists get the cast off groupies.....
  3. Yep Thing to remember is that the body holes are glide holes, the screws should only bite in the neck to allow the 2 to compress and be tight, it’s why it also looks easy
  4. That’s cool - the wiring is tight but well done in there on the Delano preamp, but I would argue no less radical than changing the pre-amp!
  5. Thrown out of court, falsified evidence and copious post posting editing revealed I own neither Gibson or Fenders
  6. Not a gift to bass players, to women maybe. Go to the light, it’s calling you, don’t fight it.
  7. Yep, I like chatting with @AndyTravis and @bigsmokebass, they crack me up, so far as yammies go, always liked an Attitude Ltd Billy Sheehan, and prob looked at them before you got your Yammy. Drop D tuning rules, took you a while to understand the difference between that and D tuning the whole bass, but I think you are there now. Had a 5, sold it, wondered about all that chaff about transitioning between a 4 and a 5, not really an issue, was good fun, prefer 4’s but who knows may get a 5 if the need requires. Not my fault that 12 strings are too much for you to cope with physically and conceptually, but after me getting a 12, you did get an 8 and can see the benefit of a multi string octave bass. So far as dUg goes, that’s cool, you don’t have to like him or his music, but considering you can’t even spell his name correctly I doubt you know a whole heap about him or the genre, so yeah assume the reputation is bloated, same with his products if you want that bass magazines vote as top products in all their reviews last year I did suggest both the NNE2 and a bass Vi to you as possibly suiting you a while back - seems like I may have been correct............ Hope you have fun with it, they are great for tic tac playing, but I am sure you know that anyway.
  8. Lindy’s Are great, esp for a more vintage sound, you can’t go wrong with them
  9. Is it a standard jazz plate on the TM bass? if so there are more options than J East - which I did not like. New pups and change of strings will defo bring extra to the table, Sandberg black labels are the nuts
  10. Always hand tighten neck bolts
  11. @Al Krow so it appears that eventually my advice filters through, you should know now not to reject at the start, you come round in the end......!
  12. Not sure why the VT would be hard to shift? It’s a fairly recent model and I am pretty sure it’s extendable. Tecamp is also good
  13. VT is a great head to get some overdriven tones out as well as clean. Tech21 have been killing it for years, quality made stuff
  14. I love a bit of Tech21, great stuff
  15. I must say, so far as a compression thread goes, this has been pretty appropriate and @Jus Lukin @51m0n bringing clarity to the matter contemporaneously is always appreciated. With quality drip feed like this more people may begin to understand.
  16. Recommend Jon willis - He is a top bloke
  17. I often arrive in a 3 piece suit, well preened hair, occasional beard or moustache wax and neatly polished shoes, those pointy ones like Winkle pickers but better, my style can never be doubted
  18. I am definitely more minging than most so I bring a greater opportunity for the rest of the band to score
  19. Normally me mam to drive me there, some home baked cookies
  20. Love a bit of compression me
  21. I’d put that in the category of slightly harsh, without being fair
  22. That’s the plan with a body first, necks are another kettle....! baby steps
  23. 2 recent projects I refurbished bodies and popped together nestling nicely on the sofa - they are OK and really punch above their cost. Me 2 Sandberg’s And the other P bass with a status neck I popped together- very happy family.
