  1. They have their own brand, but i forgot to get to the bottom of it. People say they are like super steels. Pop a question on the FB page - you may get an answer, or I may...
  2. @dmccombe7 it’s the options available. The DK has the old Sandberg in-house pick ups which are very nice indeed, but newer versions I think have the Sandberg black label pick ups which are immense. If you notice the bridge pick up is slightly closer for that 70s ‘bite’ Jon Snow has Haüssel pick ups - a small operation in Germany doing fantastic pick ups, and they are very very beefy, so much so the neck solo’d Is about as close to a P as a jazz pick up will get IMO. This I have strung with flats to get that vibe and hence different from the DK. Absolute joy
  3. It may not be another €450 for the pick ups and 3 band EQ, black labels are becoming more standard. Save your configuration number, email them the number and say you want a 3 band Glock EQ instead of the standard 2, you can have it with a stack knob so no more holes need to be drilled than is shown, and your pick up preference for black labels, and it may be less of an upcharge. If you are serious, then you have your answer
  4. Had a 5 string VT works well
  5. Just go on the configurator on the website Then you can pick a finish and extras of what you want and rhencost will become apparent
  6. And cowboy boots

  9. No you! i had wallabies and still do!
  10. Questionable shoe choice
  11. Absolutely bloody brilliant acoustically, cracking well made basses. You have so many colour, finish and ageing options and so far as pick ups go, Sandberg, Sandberg black labels, Delano, Haüssel, I may have seen the odd one with Kloppman pick ups. If you want a super light bass, you may want to check if they are also doing their Cedar bodied one which comes in under 3kg in the VS4 configuration (these are not usually aged, but they may move to that) They are great
  12. Cheers bud, Passive, Haüssel pick ups, it’s a beast, I think it’s a proper one off. MarloweDK is a great great bass, prob one of their best value ones out there.
  13. It’s better than a standard passive control, for sure
  14. I love it when a plan comes together Man-bass-pedal-amp-cab Each part of the chain was awesome congrats
  15. You need to come and join the jazz club
  16. Every ones a winner babe!
  17. Delano? pick ups have the sandberg symbol
  18. Cheers They are good, don’t get me wrong and Mr Greek will be more clued in than me from my testing and listening. I am not afraid to rout and fiddle, so when I say that not crap, it’s me saying I would not rout a bass I already have for them as I didn’t love/like them enough, but if I was building something I would consider using Them absolutely Its just me, and usual pinch of salt
  19. Sims are Great people, really nice company. Pick ups don’t quite nail it for me, but defo not crap
  20. Nowadays(this millenium) you can throw in on the U.K. side Amy Winehouse, James Blunt, Adele, Ed Sheeran
  21. I know we shouldn’t mention it, but Ze Germans did bring us Boney M, Mili Vanili, Hadaway, popularised Hasselhoff and now Rammstein. They are on our tails
  22. Can we throw a bit of Sabbath and Purple in for the UK
