  1. Yep 4 dots is the Sandberg logo Very classy Dave - congrats - that is the nuts, welcome to Nirvana
  2. That’s bollox, this is written. King Lear is just an anagram for Ring Leak which aptly describes some of the drivel
  3. But it looks nothing like a mallard
  4. Is this turning into a love triangle?
  5. Andy said we love him long and short time I don’t get where it’s not bromance
  6. Make sure it’s passive......
  7. So as @krispn said the bass pre-amp isn’t adding grit, the front of the amp is being pushed by a hotter signal, forcing the mids, and in addition you have made a portion of the mid signal hotter.
  8. Not come across that Preamp adding grit
  9. All the above, turn the gain up on the amp and pluck lighter. Look at Rocco Prestia and how powerfully But lightly he plays
  10. Proportions, prices new vs old etc can be trotted out to validate any argument, Any builder/luthier/manufacturer you order straight may build you a shell of a bass, no electronics,l for a different cost and you drop your own in, or at cost neutral exercise you sell off an existing one and pop in a dofferent one new or second hand, or you can specify what you want, we seem to go back to Sandberg, but within their range past and present and easily accessible is Delano, Haüssel, sandberg, sandberg black labels, Seymour Duncan’s. @therealting I am fully up for making changes, not an issue
  11. 5 knobs approx £10 a knob, you’ll either have to buy a screw driver set to change them out, or get a tech to do it, unless you can find the screw driver set you got from your Xmas crackers, that all adds up..... All in all about 10% bass cost from the purchase price you got it for. As per previous comments £1-2k bass, change the Preamp for a new one £100-200 price range, previously ridiculed for being a waste of money.......
  12. That counts as changing electronics Not allowed after any purchase of a bass.....
  13. I find that white tack with an orange or blue smartie on top provides the best visual and tactile dysfunction whilst also providing well neeeded snacks
  14. Recently posted an amp to Hungary. Under 10kg. Fully insured £80. Half was postage, half was insurance. Actual companies get a better deal and postage is less (insured) as they will have a blanket contract with a delivery agent
  15. I think we decided he is fat, just not that fat
  16. Whipper snapper
  17. There are actives and actives.....
  18. It’s why we love him long time
  19. 🤦🏾‍♂️
  20. I fully get that, I know no one is saying bergs or yammers are poop but like others have said, if you want a Berg and don’t mind waiting and buy it new, you can spec it how you want so you didn’t have to change the electronics. Whichever models make of bass you have, there is also a second hand market for pups and pre amps etc. somyou can sell old to get new. If you are forking out £500 (you can get stuff for a lot less, new and second hand) for new electronics, likelihood is you would already specifically know what you wanted and had them customised into a bass. I am certain loads of people have moved on whole basses for something that is cheap and easily modified, and then regretted not having the bass
  21. There is loads more in this Sandy vs Yammy debate. i’ve Probably played most iterations of sandberg’s. Whats the same - quality products Whats different - body shapes curves and sizes, neck profiles - not much you can do about them. Whats interchangeable - pick ups, tuners, pre amps, bridges etc. Although not strictly relevant to a TM vs BB, if you prefer the Yammy electronics but a sandberg body - you have your answer right there, or vice versa, or indeed any other pick up and preamps out there. If you ask a gozillion players to compare the 2 you would get as many variations
  22. https://store.stellartone.com/product.asp?specific=2038 yep that’s about right for them, wide open, closed and mid points are 3 very useable sounds, in between them still very good, but probably splitting hairs. As you say, will anyone notice? Dunno, but I like the sound, so a happy bassist hopefully plays nicely
  23. I hope this is going to sell - crazy good price for a great bass
  24. Let’s start talking about a Sunbeam Alpine - what a car
