  1. Cool thanks i got screws, just thinking aloud
  2. Or lower the action It will still play like a dream or better - don’t like it, raise the action again - 2 min job
  3. pots in, Jack in, foam in. Last port of call - wiring - pesky kids needing ferrying around etc and work getting in the way. Decent chance to get it done Sunday. I can check it’s working then and then fashion a plate of some description for the cavity from who knows what material - I should prob get a black plastic sheet and shape it. Anyone use magnets or just screws, and if magnets, any leads on where to source the right kind or ones?
  4. Not going gung-ho with a truss rod is a given, I left it open as to account for his preference of bow/straight. Drop the saddles, if it’s still not low enough and you have run out of room on the screws, shim the neck - it’s really easy to do at home. Just don’t forget intonation
  5. Drop the action, see what happens, you can compensate with shaping the neck how you like via the truss rod. Nowt wrong with a little buzz - adds to harmonics
  6. At least with my picture people know what can fit easily. it’s also got the amp footswitch in there as well as cables etc I used to transport the DG M900 and loads of caboodle easy peasy. shoilder or delivery bag carry, waterproof sleeve to place over the top don’t forget
  7. This bag is legendary, but it may well be a little snug. This is it with the dUg amp which I think is 17”w x 3.5”h x 10” d may he snug for the helix, but may just squeeze.
  8. Happy to help, it’s not everyone’s cuppa but for Kings X check out the Album Out of the Silent planet - the song ‘Power of love’ you get a real sense of the tone and ‘what is this’ Dogman album ‘Black the sky’ and most the album is deep and gnarly. One of the original bi-amping few which now the head does in a tiny box albeit slightly heavier than @Al Krow‘s weight limit
  9. dUg Pinnick offa Kings X, KXM, Pinnick Gales Pridgeon, Grinder Blues, Supershine, Poundhound to name a few. Purveyor of a 12 string bass as well. One of the greatest rock tones you’ll ever hear and will stand shoulder to shoulder with someone like Glenn Hughes as a bassist/vocalist of some repute and a massive influence to a whole generation of players and bands. For a short description. The amp is brutally phenomenal and the DP3X pedal is absolute gold dust and won a plethora of awards last year for best or top 3 pedals released Unashamedly, I am a massive fan and coincidentally would claim to be a middle aged spread Lardy version of him without the talent.
  10. Indeed! I didn’t sign up as well. Believe me - I am keeping an eye out, but not in a position to buy new at this point..... Thought you may like the finish!
  11. Pah to opinions- I like, you like that’s enough in my book, peeps complaining of price point, everyone has their own budgets i like this https://www.espguitars.com/products/20545-rb-1004sm-2nd?category_id=1964638-bass-clearance thr bridge pup arguments will come out, but I reckon Rocco knows a thing or two. https://www.guitarinteractivemagazine.com/issues/issue-28/reviews/esp-ltd-rocco-prestia-rb-10004-bass/ @Dood killing it
  12. If you fancied a P bass Lyte neck (different dimensions to standard fender) I got one lying around
  13. Gear abstinence is an arbitrary term. That is so beautiful you could call it Art acquisition, and hence no rules broken
  14. How good amps are aside, the thing about EQ’s is knowing to use them. A 4 or 5 band EQ is not necessarily better than a 3 band Baxendall or a classic Fender Tone Stack. I agree about tone tone tone, and essentially it’s the same with coloured and non coloured cabs - you may preferentially want an amp to be less coloured as you have something before it giving you the sound you want. In this case, the amps you mention are fine beasts and nearly as good as the Tech21!
  15. Tech21 DP3X pedal is string CPR DR strings are the nuts
  16. That is very nice actually, it would be foolish to resist
  17. @Al Krow I hope that laugh was at the middle aged spread and not the amp.....🤬🤪🤓
  18. Trawl fleabay, bumtree, Facebook, reverb, here, preloved. Obviously the ones mentioned above are cool Depends how quick you need to make it and how fussy you are. There are some incredible deals out there. The last P I did I got from the guy for postage only as it needed a repair, the Jazz I am finishing was a factory second that just needs more careful sanding so cost about £40. For me it meant I could mess about an not care effing it up!
  19. Increase middle aged spread, gain a whole extra 4lbs and get the best amp in the world in the Tech21 dUg Ultrabass 1000
  20. I think you are narrowing down what you like, and will get there. Knowing you like white is the Mike Dirnt Fender precision an option?
