  1. I was finding this cathartic - seems I am on a chocolate swirly downward spiral. I certainly don’t want anger to lead to fear, hatred and then madness. You May be right, I caught myself looking at a ....burst bass the other day, and not wretching like the crying game
  2. Yes Me - if they are turdburst - that colour should be wiped away
  3. Badum Tish!!!! 🚶‍♂️🤦‍♂️ My kind of joke
  4. @Low End Bee I agree, Mods can be cool @leftybassman392 the relic lovers are for the most part not overly sensitive, it’s more a staunch opposition to it from the relic haters. Personally I don’t get turdburst, i’d prefer a hello kitty bass, but I haven’t started a thread on it yet....
  5. @stingrayPete1977 I see your Ray is surviving the rest of time, but the question is how long/how many playing hours to get an ‘honest’ relic in someone with average acidity in their acrid sweat and a normal sized belt buckle using pick, slap and fingers?
  6. @stingrayPete1977 I suppose Sandberg has only been going since 1986, you never get wear on basses over a 33 year time period, they are just getting warmed up...
  7. Not entirely respray is not part of a service. All mojo is good mojo whether or not it’s then buffed and refinished or allowed to be viewed whenever it’s has been created. Mojo - is just ‘style’ you can’t say Prince Phillip has more Mojo than Brad Pitt because he been around longer. Cars is a good one tho - my 15 year old Battered Honda Civic was legendary - few scars - worked a dream - someone drove into me, I had to apologise to them for leaving the funk of 40 thousand years on their brand new car, plus no one ever tried to steal or break into it
  8. Ignore me just looked them up - built from scratch. Good luck to the man 👍🏾
  9. Are they parts basses or fully luthiered?
  10. They look absolutely stonking and with demon pick ups Good work sir!
  11. Depends if you employed @Ricky 4000 ‘s wiggly worms
  12. Also - can’t remember if someone already said this, but if you have a decent standard fender body - get a Status Graphite J neck - it is sublime and will fit right into the pocket. Fast, feels great, Rich harmonics and if you don’t like the status logo dat on the headstock I think they are moving it to the back if you ask them
  13. +1 for a sandberg neck - usually around 39mm at the nut If you want something really light, really punchy. Check out their new Super light series - comes in under 3kg and the new Sandberg black label pick ups are immense
  14. As it happens - I found some proper ones - could be game on tonight if the kids go to bed!
  15. Ha!!! defo can’t do that one due to lack or screws, but may we’ll drill the holes and fit the pots but yes Sorry master Jabba, your padawan is wasting time
  16. Like a numpty forgot to order pick up screws so the final bit i’ll Have to wait for.
  17. But if you strip it to make it relickeyingable, does that then also count as fake mojo, forced mojo etc.......
  18. The very cool @foxyFuze donated a neck to me from an old PJ bass. It fits the pocket nice, so I bolted it on! Yep the machine heads are silver, and the bridge black, but I don’t mind, and I think the body looks killer with black bridge and ferrules for the neck screws. ferrules where the knobs will go its getting there
  19. Giant Haystacks Rebel Wilson Ann widdicomb Big Daddy They have heft
  20. @Geek99 you little minx! @tauzero glad you picked up on it being the other end of the spectrum, maybe one would be chastised for hiding history, I don’t, it’s just as bonkers as hating a relic.
  21. I was going along the lines of havin an older bass looking shabby, or you don’t like the colour, you refinish it and tart it up to look good as new, this providing fake new unworn lack of mojo, or fooling people that it’s been very gently cared for all these years. Of course if you flip it and talk about relickeying a new bass, then yep, the naysayers will say lamb as mutton
  22. You are right about the sandberg - the ‘M’ pick up will not sound like a Ray, but it was never meant to - only a Ray sounds like a Ray (position , pre amp etc.) The reverse split coil works nicely in conjunction with the M pick up and they are very very fine basses. This is a fine example for sale one here
