  1. @Al KrowNot that old rock and roll music mantra again, that’s plain nuts. If you look, you’ll find it and good musicians too, and good music is not governed by numbers of units sold.
  2. @Delberthot of course the alternate theory is that after being so frugal you deserve to spoil yourself in a way that does not mess with your core sound and only enhances it. if you have the cash it’s a 14 day full refund from the day of receipt no quibble as long as you don’t trash it.
  3. Or use a KMA Audio Machines The Tyler, it’s truly a good piece of work keeping your clean signal unaffected and blend what you like over the top. http://kma-machines.com/m_tyler.html
  4. @PJ-Bassist oh gosh yes, I realise it’s all fun, and I had a look through over 20 pages and honestly I could not see anything!! Incredibly spoilt, and I agree about a Sandberg, TM is a great bass. I love Sandy’s and I cannot see anything topping what I have at the moment. The one I would consider getting is their new superlight Cedar model, maybe in TM. I played the prototype TT and it’s amazing. That’s what has spoilt it for me. I did consider birth year bass, butbteh late 70s Fenders we’re so hit and miss, it lost its appeal quickly. I am starting to get my head turned by ESP basses, so maybe if the right one came up......
  5. No one going for the Rack Helix?
  6. I’ll have a look, but in all honesty I know what I want won’t be there, plus I am more into parting basses together or making, so I do scour the other related items bit, that still works for me.
  7. Just BC market place? or fleabay etc as well
  8. @Ricky 4000 Doug and vernon were playing pedal Tetris for years and it was getting all a bit silly. Muzz kept a calming influence IMO, I am with you on this
  9. I think he did some solo stuff, mulled around last time I looked, but he was just the nuts. The new LC is ok actually, some nice grooves but the production is heavily compressed
  10. I think we all agree that for our tastes good music and good bass go hand in hand. Now that player could just be hitting one note, but it’s subtle things like the length and timing with things around that lift music. I will listen around music of all genres to get a feeling of tone and composition of bass lines, with reference to what other instruments are doing. For me guys like dUg Pinnick and Glenn Hughes nail the groove and sound. I could listen to Kings X non stop, but not all Purple. Whilst not as busy a player, Muzz Skillings slays Doug Wimbish IMO, and that defo changed the sound of Living Colour. Rocco in Tower of Power is a beast, but I get horned out after a while. Todd Smallie - JJ Grey and the Mofro and Dishan Abraham - prob could listen to th all day. Its the same with drums and enhancing/spoiling the music. I would listen to Metallica more - but Lars has got less timing and rhythm than a middle aged man Dad dancing the electric boogaloo.
  11. That is a nice JV Precision as well, people do not realise how good a bass they are so I end up seeing them going for a bit less than the list price. No one is right or wrong, but I agree don’t give it away. Market is defo slower regardless of seasons greetings
  12. Yep I sold that to him!! Not at all, it is a bit horizontal, but not massive neck dive, it had more than the semi hollow, but that is because it was a heavier bigger neck profile. It was really comfortable, and on the odd occasion I went past the 7th fret it was fine
  13. About the best chorus on the market with the ability to keep your bottom end signal clean, and a free flanger thrown in. This is awesome GlwTs
  14. Is a combo of the size of the MB massively more convenient compared to a BF cab and lightweight head? Granted a small combo like a PJB for rehearsals, etc. Of course, br at the other end?
  15. @Bassassin top notch 👊
  16. If we are talking Hohner’s I have a B2 passive in white and a B2ADB in black, still got the old electrics but hammered in some EMG’s
  17. Doesn’t just have to be digital pedals to be midi controlled
  18. Personal preference examples, to be fair I have worn hammer pants and taken my LeBass with me. He started the whole pants thing
  19. Massively valid as an alternative, what I presented was a work around with no extra buying of stuff, as well as a use with extra stuff. If you don’t want to use 2 headphones, fine, most people may wear underpants, some people do not. Its all good
  20. It’ll slip in a trouser or coat pocket 12oz in weight. Aux in is not great deal breaker. I would wager most people have at least 2 headphones, probably over ears and in ears. you need a 1/4” plug (on the dUg) to use the headphone out, and to use the aux in from your phone or whatever, you would need a cable to connect up. Instead of that cable a set of in ear headphones into your device and into your ears, loosely, can headphones over them bingo, no extra hassle for silent play on the fly. Its exactly the same amount of faff silent play at home, actually having done this, versus the headphones and aux in on an amp and finally into my USB audio interface into GarageBand, or PC DAW, the latter is the best for balancing the sound out and not blowing your ear drums. Aux in is just one of those things, it’s no bigggeeeeee
  21. Horses for courses Still on the board, mainstay of sound, going nowhere. Dug is the best grab and go all in one ever, tuner, clean, tweakable dirt/drive/bite whatever you want to call it, with or without an amp. Can stack them
  22. Exactly. Its a great sounding piece of kit, spend a little time you get what you desire
  23. Thoroughly depends on who and what you play with. Mid scoop is not always a bad thing
  24. Thats cool, for me I managed to keep the A magic favouring the blend towards it in the cold fusion so there is a hint more mids there, but the Broughton is quality, so no complaints. I used to do something similar stacking it with the Hartke VXL
  25. @Opticaleye try setting the B channel up to be almost the same as A, essentially very clean, but pop some more kids in there, run them as cold fusion, parts out the scoop, brightens it a little
