  1. @pburrowsjust to fill in on how they like a Sandberg......DR DDTs love em! I have had them on my VS4 (now left me) My MarloweDK and my TT with Hauessel pick ups. i also have them on the fundamental string of my 12 string Hamer (octaves are D’addArio’s). i have that in drop D and half a step down
  2. I agree VXLs are awesome and great bang for the buck GLWTS
  3. I am constantly down there DR DDTs, expensive but worth it DDT stands for drop down tuning but equally as good in normal tuning
  4. This is a phenomenal bass, priced about right and yes the neck is to die for. GLWTS
  5. I hate to admit it, I tried a mates one, it’s was alright actually!
  6. I can’t fault fusion either, I have a double gig bag and it’s the beans
  7. Just to balance @Al Krow out. As he expanded, I shrunk (Not waisteline unfortunately, but he isn’t feeding me) I passed all Pedal Karma onto him
  8. So that’s why DFS is always next to a take away
  9. @Al Krow patience young padawan, you will find your path, I am enlightening you slowly on your way
  10. @Wolverinebass are you sure? its cold out and we could do with some firewood
  11. For you maybe, not for everyone and it’s entirely unfair and unhelpful to pigeonhole them as it depends completely on the context of other kit used and other instruments played with. Its like me declaring I am the most handsome man in the world, when even my mother thought I have a face for radio. A good thick Scotch Broth could be eaten with a fork and the rest mopped up with a nice crusty roll, and that is a very heart warming meal If you are after a thin, insipid watery soup just like England’s 6 nations campaign, then yes, a fork is the wrong tool for the job
  12. It’s an absolute dream for us, and things coming out all the time. If you want to keep it simple, i’d Avoid me! I suppose the only thing I would say is how important is a DI on a pedal for you? You May see an awesome pedal but no Di Is a dedicated DI better or an option? Will an amp have the EQ/Tone altering/drove section you want and eliminate pedals?
  13. No way will my dUg unit be going anywhere! I deliberately stayed away from Tech21 from the OP as they are already using a fly rig, and there can be a similarity across Tech21 formats. There are loads out there mate, doesn’t really matter what we say, something will tick the box for the sound in your head and may not be on this list
  14. I am with @Bigwan on the Two Notes and Hartke VXL, so much so that I layer them together, and I would not part with either one. Personally I would disagree with @dannybuoy for what genre you can use the LeBass for, it is entirely possible using all its dials new settings to get something that may fit for your needs cross a wide range of music, depends on your other stuff etc. IMHO the best value pedal is the first generation Hartke VXL, second hand you can get for around £40 sometimes less, it’s a bombproof chassis, and you can get a bass funk sound, to break up on the signal, you just need to understand the Hartke EQ and it’s shape circuit. In a lot of ways it’s better than the second generation model, they tried some refinements, but it made it too refined for my tastes, and lost its edge, I also like the older more basic look.
  15. Sounds like a typical scenario of too much compression squashing the life out of a sound, and thus proves the point on its uses. Sharing exact settings is a pointless exercise, obviously videos like the ones shared earlier in the thread about the Dr Pepper setting give a starting point, but even then each instrument/voice needs its own tinker to balance and the gentleman in the video says as much. I wouldn’t say it’s guesswork in what you say above. If you actually take the time to research yourself how something works, and then take time to apply it practically then you may not ‘hear’ the difference because you just instantly know, but there will be a difference as you would have made one in making it sit amongst many variables. Its similar to this, one of the great sportsmen replied to a question when it was suggested he had a lucky break, “it’s funny, the more I practice the luckier I get....”
  16. I expanded, tinkered, found what i liked and retracted to a stable that I know are me and should not go out the door for any reason. Lots and lots of lust going on, but made a promise to myself and Mrs Cuzzie, I have to have a pot of money saved for any eventualities life throws at us, then once I have that I can get another bass if I have saved enough to buy it outright, no wheeler dealing. That keeps me sane and very unlikely to get another!
  17. I rather like them, the rig rundown was cool. They have old gear like an old SG that some people may just leave at home, he just takes it out. it really refreshing, they are just being who they want to be
  18. We have all pre ordered and been invoiced, you may be able to join the party! Get in touch with @tonyxtiger Down tuning rules!
  19. Time is a great healer, just goes to show sometimes we need to let things bed in. One if my basses I sort of struggled with over a period of months, and if I was in more of a flippant mood could have gone, but something clicked all of a sudden and it was a lightbulb moment. Congrats!
  20. Get in there buddy!!!!! i am a massive Kings X fan too, are you on the list of other BC’ers getting the dUg pedal? i was so much a fan I got something similar but since moved it on Neck was a dream, shame I couldn’t get on with the MFd pick ups How you finding it?
  21. Agreed, I heard them on planet rock and double Took when they said it wasn’t Zep! I think they are great and am sad to miss out on their tour
  22. The minute you said sliders I was thinking of small burgers! Of course I would, some naysayers will still probably say too many dials...
  23. You know I am Al, Born and Bred Mancunian, Dont get sucked in to the Laaaaaandon ting bruv
