  6. @Bluewine errrrrr Meshell N’degecello, Ida Nelson,Yolanda Charles, Nicole Row, Esperenza spalding, Kim deal, suzi Quattro . Think you need to open your eyes and ears a bit more mate
  7. @arthurhenry any superlatives you say about dUg will always be agreed with by me, a true true legend, also one who knows his limitations as well. Its interesting hearing him talk about when he depped for Corey Glover in Living Colour for a few shows, he said he really struggled, but Corey is also immense, different but still immense
  8. @Al Krow That’s cool, jap bases are quality
  9. @Al Krow I have moved bases, but just wondered having said that EU counterparts are better than USA ones, what may replace them
  10. @Al Krow aren’t you selling your Sandberg....
  11. Think you need to look past the winners and look at the nominees to show there is actually relevance to the show. On here it’s been stated no one is different, has originality yet bands like Royal Blood were in the hunt, London Grammar are superb, artists like Sankhya, Jorja Smith, Beck all in there, it’s not just the usual suspects that are topping the charts. Yes the show is corny, yes it’s clunky, and even cringeworthy in parts, but I reckon The Brits still has more of an edge than the others out there despite how big it is
  12. My 20 year old Honda Civic with about 150k on the clock looks like someone has, and it’s still going strong!
  13. Yeah it’s a bit of a prancing parade, but within it actually the awards were fairly distributed. Like it or not Stormzy was the first ever Grime artist to get a number 1 album, and he won, would have been too easy to give it to Ed Sheeran. International female went to Lorde from New Zealand, would have been too easy to give it to Taylor swift, I agree Lamarr was a bit weird, as as lovely as she is Rita Ora needs to stop taking clothes off and dropping to Littel Mix’s level. Dua Lipa seems a genuine person. Gorillaz are great, and had longevity It does represent the masses, which is not always good, but I kinda like the Brits, it goes a little leftfield, may not be everyone’s cuppa but it’s OK
  14. @SibobI’ll re phrase slightly. The tension on how the strings feel are just what I like and that is whether I have them in normal tuning or in drop tuning. They do lock and stay in tune nicely when changing. Due to me being a bit dense when changing strings on my 12 string bass I messed up a fundamental string from the D’Addario set, so instead I used the DDTs in combination with the D’Addario octaves. This is a high tension neck as you can imagine.DR’s lapped it up and actually preferred being in drop D and a half step down. Basically they feel great, sound great, last a long time, stay in tune and don’t get floppy like others can in drop tuning. They are expensive at £35-40 a set, but whatever they did to manufacture it, it’s worth it in my book.
  15. DR DDT strings - stands for Drop Down Tension. Brilliant strings, just the tension you will need either normal tuning or drop, and they sound fantastic, I love them
  16. There’s a singing bassist right there!
  17. Let’s not forget an 1983 Fender JV Squier if you want a thinner neck, but some thump, an old Peavey Fury will do a job
  18. Oh and if you do go for a G&L LB100 they come in many custom necks, their dimensions are in the website, but if I remember right a #5 or #7 neck are pretty chunky
