  1. Best thing you did keeping that Hartke It’s gold dust, mines going nowhere
  2. Oh Al, you opened that can of worms disguised in another thread....... I suppose in a way one could ask has the DG line exploded and then now fallen back a little? Is the fact there are a few more DG products than usual for sale testament to this? Personally I think they are quality items, pricing aside, but they do have a core sound which is very modern metal. It's a shame as their stuff esp the amp can do more with its clean EQ section, but you almost feel like it's a waste not using the dirt, and that leads to the modern metal path. I do like the dirt sound B3K variations especially, but there is something about it which doesn't quite sit with the clean sound, it's just a bit separate once engaged and unless it's bass which is the main driver of the sound in a band it can clash I think.
  3. These amps were very high in my list, I went for a Form Factor Audio Bi1000 on the end, but we should absolutely stick them somewhere
  4. Wonder if that chap in the Netherlands will do one...?
  5. CJ is right I can't co ordinate feet and hands, hands and hands is bad enough....
  6. Sandberg are the absolute mutts. I don't do fivers, but I am just about to get in my 3rd 4 string. Very happy
  7. Ha! Size 12s and i often wear a pair of cowboy boots, so I have a good platform for this kind of thing. To be honest I think I hit 2 at once more by accident than design, but clumsy, hence leave it on one setting per song
  8. I have to say, no issues with me either I do have big plates of meat tho.....
  9. yes to yammy's if you want to get a Musicman SUB, get a USA on second hand, can be around £4-500 and then get a Vintage Nordstrand MM pick up slotted in, great tone
  10. I'll pm you my settings to see if you like them!
  11. Don't flomp!!! I have Cali76G, and I love it, sometimes I set the ratio past 12 to really get a good kick out of it. You may have done this already, but mess around with higher rates of compression, and the the other dials it is so worth it. What voltage are you running it on, max it out to get the max effect.
  12. The Decimator has a secret recording device tracking your every move. Big brother is watching you......
  13. I'll lend it only if you buy the other 2
  14. Al, like DB and CJ and I said to you before reading this Buy both and then buy the Manta

    Which DI ?

Well in that case it's a Two Notes LeBass hands down Brilliant pedal with a DI Also cheap as chips and really not a bad sound is a Hartke VXL, very underated pedal which has a DI also. If you like an Ampeg sound the SCR DI is decent and can be used as silent practice Sansamp range if you like it, and of course the bass fly rig. Loads of alternatives out there

    Which DI ?

Radial J48 REDDI 2 of the best on the market
  17. Knew you would have a little dig...... All part of the payments to Krow Kourriers!
  18. Al Krow the Threadstarter, The Prodigy should change their lyrics.... So my experience MXR does the business from Chilli Peppers to funkadelic Herbie Hancock and is a well made pedal. Manta - is nuts, very synth dubstep, getbthe hot hand out, it's very good fun and does the other things as mentioned. Aggie - not played but listened, I think it sounds awesome and very easy to dial in and probably out the 3 mentioned the easisest to dial in install and also change in the fly if needs be. I sold the MXR, but only because I wasn't using aside from noodling at home and I can use the Manta for that on one save d channel and the Hot Hand on another, I can use it out if I wish also. It's a difficult one AK, nothing will be wrong, nothing will be fully right. As I know what you play in your bands I am leaning towards the Aggie (you know I have not played it, but listened and taken on board CDJ comments) which I think will sit nicely, but also will give you enough funk for home tinkering. If you want to go wild you can Borrow my Manta any time as you know Also defo compression after envelope
  19. Or a Creation Audio mk4.23 clean boost, gives you up to 24dB of clean sound you can kick on and off
  20. Joe, PJB is pretty clean, but roll of your tone, use the EQ and it's not half bad. Place it next to a wall and you get good thick bass pumping out. The bass Cub has an Aux in, a second input which can take a microphone, or another bass and the DI out is lovely. I have the one in red and it passed the wife test on size and also looks to be allowed in the house
  21. Phil Jones Bass Bass Cub does a pretty good job
  22. You luthier is right! Sandy's are at least as good, if not better than custom shop Fenders
