1. Oh Al you do love winding me up! I would say the the Metro 16 is a small board, it has 3 rails as opposed to 2 on Cameron J's post, but is shorter and not as long. It was just an example of what can be done with big pedals on a SMALL board.... Of course using a Cali76 CB pedal which is the bees knees (got one yet Al?!) would leave further room
2. Here is mine complete with my foot in a cast! You have to love pink (daughters choice!)
3. MXR bass chorus deluxe is a must, it really is about the best one out there. I have a big Cali76G, but the Cali76CB works easily as well on guitar, a lot of people who down tune, or even chicken picker country guys use it. Tuner I have a polytune mini, after that fill your boots. Nice to see a Source Audio pic. I have the Manta Bass and Hot hand, it's not on the board as my metro 16 is also populated by the Two Notes Le bass, but it's a lot of fun. The VT will certainly take care of any drive you want. Enjoy
4. I think Al would be satisfied with the range if aesthetically Alex could nail those old school looks similar to the yammy, tyrant tone cabs etc.
5. I like too, let's hope he does Great old school flavour
6. I had VMT and B7K pedals, bought the amp, sold the pedals. The amp is good clean or dirty. I think the suggestion of a Tech21 pedal infront of the ashdown is also a great idea, they are bringin the dUg preamp pedal probably later this year.....!
7. I have to say the Two Notes is the nuts for me, like attackbass said on the last page it makes my Jazz come to life. It does not play as nicely with my P bass though, but I am cool with that. At the moment I have a nice pocket of sound stacking it with a Hartke VXL and a Cali76G. Even Al liked the sound it makes, and he's a hard man to please
8. I agree that with my current set up I can pretty much get the sound of the dUg, it's probably taken about the same amount of money as just getting the amp, but it does offer more. I'll post a link to the picture of the inside which is mainly space, so if you take the power amp out and the need to cool it, maybe there is room inside a box....(bad pun I know) https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/Bass/comments/5032d4/got_my_tech_21_dug_ultrabass_1000_amp_excellent/
9.
Might be worth asking Alex if he can add a tweeter to your cab. It used to be an option on the Super Twelve (Super Twin predecessor).
only if you ask him in 140 characters or less.............
10. As i posted earlier, words straight from TECH 21's mouth.......
All valid points - i messaged tech21 a while back to get a ball park price, obviously cannot push them when it was announced and their quote to me was the the best guess was under 500 in both dollars and sterling. Midi is a great idea esp if you have their midi moose or the like. i suppose to some degree if tis in front the amp, the 'sound' can be achieved and you can tweak your amps EQ a little to flesh out
Your maths is a little off, and you can get B-stocks ex demo's for about £1600 so its still game on. It will be under 500 clams i could have always said 1/5, 1/6 or 1/7 of the price, makes it sound a better deal....
11. Lovely, absolutely lovely. Congrats on the baby. Maple is not my thing, but even this tempts me. GLWTS
12. Agree with the above. Especially looking at pick ups. My P punches more than my jazz My Jazz likes my pre amp pedals more than my P and I can mould the sound more to get what I want and something different which then has presence of its own without EQing the amp, but by modulating before. The p does not need this, but each bass is good in its own right. Take Sandberg's as an example, you want HI-Fi sound you get it with Delano's, you want something more vintage use the in house sandberg pups. The you can also start talking about Lindy fralins, Nordy's etc. There is only slight coloration with a Supertwin, not a lot so it will burp out what you feed it.
13. We've been all over it on the amp section I love it
14. I have a couple of Sandbergs a jazz and a P, one of the PJ's may convince me to replace the P, but Sandy's are pretty good. I know they are moving old stock, but I am liking the shiny new ones.....
15. You have to remember though Al that the Big baby and Supertwin are different cabs, so it's not quite the same as the earlier post, but I still take the valid point that there are alternatives that may do the job for his ears
16. Is it the Supertwin or is it the amp? Much as you love it may not be powering out the right signal for your band mix. If you can try some different heads through the Twin, and then the other way, try the head through different cabs, it's the only way to know, granted you'll get most of your beans back, but it would be a shame to change if it was not needed. Maybe a pre-ampmpedal to change your sound up is also a consideration
17. Just as I was starting to settle I spy the BBP34 Never had a Yammy, always been intrigued, I guess no one here will steer me clear!

19. I think it will be a £3-500 bracket. If it does produce that sound at a quarter or the dug amp price it's a winner
20. Well if you can't buy the amp How about this https://www.facebook.com/jon.willis.7906/posts/1896917300569338
21. Also Mark is an official supplier for Sandberg, so you could look at a custom if you are prepared to wait
22. They are based down in Devon. Mark is a great guy
23. I realised that after writing it (doh!) but when you are so close by chance he may be able to take the last jump. Personally I would get a Hamer 12 string bass, that is completely different to what he has!
24. Sandberg are great and a VM will suit you nicely, P presence but the M adds more cut. The Sandberg in house pups are more vintage and the Delano's they use more hi-fi. Can't argue with what other people have said either, just got to get out and play them! On another note how about an Olinto P bass made by Mas Hino, they look the beans
25. It eats at me too, I wish a bit more and on my middle aged spread...
