  1. Not meant to be negative, I may have remembered incorrectly but I thought I thought some posts on here expressed doubt for their own enjoyment doing a gig where there is no singing/dancing, sparsely filled pubs etc. It’s not balking per se, but some like the excitement and vibe of a bustling full room be it sport or music, others don’t mind, and of course now there is the worry of drunk people not just spilling stuff and knocking your equipment, but also losing their sense of space, getting in your grill, and we still are living with COVID and that risk of transmission - it is unlikely that everyone would have had their vaccination by then. Its great restrictions are lifted, but that is the crux of the question
  2. Slightly strange response, not sure where that one is going, was just asking peoples feelings on the matter, but if you want to do your band out of a gig,i am sure i can do my best Richard Van Dyke Mary Poppins act at the wedding you have booked for a lesser fee with new material
  3. Tuning to bag pipes is very interesting, they are about a 1/4 step of standard tuning and change as they go from cool to warm - great fun to play with tho
  4. Haha - not concerned for you - the glass is always half full👊🏾 The only thing it says is 30 17th May - and yes from June 21st possibly no restrictions but ‘governed by the data and science......’ Purely genuine question - for some it’s a job and a main revenue stream, some a well needed bonus, others a nice to have - on past experience how have empty vs full gigs felt - for the purpose of this we all gave it the beans no matter if it’s 1 or 1000 - just interested
  5. People doing weddings/functions etc - obviously the initial buzz of playing will be great, but if you are used to 100 guests will it feel ‘empty’ as in less excitement when its only 30 allowed?
  6. It’s a great instrument with fantastic build quality and I actually like the G&L headstock that some don’t - The SB-1 is slightly less in your face compared to the ‘M’ style pick ups they do - it just genuinely takes a different tinker and EQ to your ‘usual’ non MFD pick up
  7. But with those MFD pick ups he rotated the magnet, steel poles, made them more powerful and the whole sound is more shrill as well as moore chutzpah because he was compensating for hearing loss and especially high end hearing loss
  8. That was amazing - keep banging on about compression
  9. ToneWould?
  10. Move out of London - it’s naughty in the sticks
  11. Yeah - mine is just really as a travel option/noodle in the bedroom type thing
  12. Mine was caught as it was thrown in the audience and was nicely mashed up from use - I rose like a salmon
  13. Don’t disagree at all - what’s telling is looking at ‘The Pro’s’ they will often use keys recording and live for certain parts/songs where synth is required. I know Krow is a Dua Lipa future nostalgia fan, classic case is the Dont Start Now song where the bassist flips between the 2.
  14. That man @JohnDaBass put it far more eloquently than I could ever do. My 51 being the Seymour Duncan Custom shop hot stack has a 29.8k output which is ludicrously hot. As a result I feel I can only play it with Flats and TI ones, and I normally play with a pick, but even with rounds the pick didn’t sound right. It a finger root note kind of bass, with great clarity, but I have a Tonestyler bass ten with it in position 4-6 back from open and I have to dial the bass back on my amp waaaaay more than others. I also cannot stack pre-amps like I normally do - this is a bass - compressor - amp pick up/bass. Good luck!
  15. Agreed - it’s why I am desperately holding onto my iPhone 6 and older ipad
  16. If you can find a comparison of the Nathan East pedal and a ‘normal’ bass vs the NNE2 - it may give you an idea of if it makes much difference and also if there is a market for it should be my thoughts
  17. Plus I already had a Scarlett 18i8 so was covered on a bigger scale
  18. So for me it goes into the lightning port of the iPad and I use the 3.5mm Jack out to hear everything - worked in my circumstance
  19. I use it for silent practice as you can run GB in the background and play along to any music etc
  20. Massively - if you only need 1 input it’s the easiest thing ever and is tiny
  21. That or the iTrack One Pre - I was lucky and they did a flash sale a while ago and I got it for £20
  22. If it goes ahead i am seeing them in July - will let you know if th dancing has gotten more in time
  23. I do have a pick from our very own @12stringbassist
  24. Fishbone drummer - which says fish sticks with their band logo - it’s great - about 30 years old now
