Still failing to see much wrong there

Sad indeed - loved him in Cactus - guy had groove for days

It’s was a logo designed by his friend about 25 years ago and stood out amongst others - it just used to say Sandberg. It really easy to make and insert, stands out and you could say represents balance - I don’t think there is anything else to it. The name cam from the straße ‘Am Sandberg’ where they first started, Hölger and his mate (Gerd I think) were piano builders before hand

Some VERY good news at last - live music back by the Spring?
Cuzzie replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
That’s one of the articles talking about it. At the risk of quoting myself and talking about myself in the 3rd person, Cuzzie’s point in reference to death reduction... This is from this article https://www.bmj.com/content/371/bmj.m4958 Now you can look at the headline reduction figure and make a prediction, or look at the detail as to how they calculated it and assess whether or not it is what is actually happening. It’s human nature to believe the opinion or part of an opinion or statement we want to hear, but unfortunately I am part of the optimism police and i have to critically appraise evidence and figures as part of my job. I predicted the 21-28 day schedule would be elongated, and I also have said that it won’t surprise me if the 2 vaccines are mixed and they say that’s ok - on no evidence of course........ We all want as many tools in our box as possible to fight this, and some protection is better than none, but even the greatest optimism needs some form of realism just as the greatest pessimism needs some optimism -

Sorry I should say modelling - not study -

That model for your quoted figures is based on a 95% efficacy against the disease and a 60% efficacy against infection from the day the first dose is given..... That is an unrealistic assumption for that study unfortunately -

Great Vaccine being rolled out - but the people that being vaccinated are not the people going to gigs unless someone has the monopoly on care home gigs. Vaccine schedule all up in the air with no evidence to support its efficacy, but it will do some good Hospitals not great at the moment, possibly worse than the initial one and I am sure the waves will continue. It’s a tough one to call it for May -
Still on a wish list-would only really want the stupidly expensive top line anniversary one tho

Go home Jackson - You’re drunk...(so bad it deserves it’s own thread...)

Car or bass? -
Haha - EQ etc - I’ll let you chaps fight over Ken Smith’s @dave_bass5 no arguments there, I’ve used the big brother of the SC with a DG head and it’s eminently achievable

We have all been saying that for ages!

Have to agree with @dave_bass5 and@CameronJ overall, and cabs defo have to be balanced to their heads, one setting will not fix all. Switching to a pick up closer to the bridge will of course make a difference as would playing closer to the bridge compared to the neck. From the example given like has been said it could be someone’s preferred sound, or the balance with all other instruments wasn’t quite right from the start, but that doesn’t therefore make a rule of thumb. The normal vs reverse split coil will produce a slightly different sound, but again that depends on placement-what if the reverse split was located further forward from the ‘sweet spot’, therefore placing it exactly where it would normally be? There would be no difference there. I don’t think anyone is saying there will not be some difference, it’s more sweeping broad statements that are not quite so.

I did the relic specific to where and how I wear and play a bass great fun
-
The white is a status neck, it’s camera flash but the maple one is actually gold but I did a white underneath the gold so as it relics, the white shows and I also seasoned and stained the wood of the whole body so that whenever that shows it looks old and not bright bare wood as it started out Here are the steps (there were multiple coats and stains relic process etc)

Most of my stuff will be difficult to get rid of - I made them with specific sonic goals in mind, in my mind, which will in all honesty not suit most people - the shells/parts of course can be put to other uses, those not too routed and battered by me. What it does is give you an appreciation of cost and Labour, but also marvel at both top an bottom ends about what stuff does, what makes a difference etc. Would I pop my stuff against anything bitsa or self made (to a degree not done necks yet) absolutely sound wise - fit and finish would be lacking compared to proper luthiers. I would sell the self made ones last if I had to offload whatever I had, not just for sentiment. Long answer basically no plans, but doesn’t mean they may not leave!

Scot myself, my uncle speaks Gaelic so I should ask him!
