Some VERY good news at last - live music back by the Spring?

Not all private healthcare does - Nuffield Health for example, pretty sure being a charity they are not for profit, all income is reinvested into the service they provide. -
Hartke VXL, first edition, built like a tank, spend the other 80-100 notes on bar snacks and mince pies

What gear do you use to get the best tone for your bass DI?
Cuzzie replied to violetelectric's topic in Recording
Tried a few various ones - but this was pretty fun and good, and yes in all likelihood overkill. Bass into a radial JDI - Clean unaltered signal taken from this and run the signal on. Into pedals which as a CaliCB compressor and Tech21 DP3X (running clean or dirty) - DI out the pedal. The signal chain carried onto my amp (Tech21 dUg Ultrabass 1000) and i took the DI out of that. It gives 3 simultaneous tracks - You can use the JDI at any point to give a run off of the signal at that point. Is it any better than what is suggested?I dunno, but it was fun and you have 3 different sounds all in time etc. To then layer a sound. -
Like this -nice work

I have a focusrite Scarlett - it’s great - choose the one with as many channels as you want, or presonus is fine. It comes packaged with lite versions of DAW’s - which are fine - I chose to get Logic X Pro. Microphone - so much choice out there but I have Sennheiser e935 - mainly for live work but it records ok - second hand is a good market, but Shure ones you mentioned will be fine. Get a mic stand and a pop shield definitely. For drums get EZDRUMMER or Superior Drummer - they offer trials to see if you like, and you can add drum packs when they are on offer. Real drums recorded giving an awesome array of real drum loops, you won’t regret this one. You can get this all in budget -
Back onto fart gags again......

It is amazing how some folk read things in different ways, and it’s not a diss by any stretch, but I got something more like Alex wrote on here from the online description as opposed to just being heavy distortion/fuzz

All the points are encapsulated - some like fully digital, some like some aspects of digital, some like analogue - to suggest any are dinosaurs/superior or the norm is folly really. When touring happened i saw a decent chunk of bands who I know have been through normal amp to fractal/keeper/line 6 and then back to normal amps even without in ears at good stage and venue volumes with a great mix. it can all be achieved

I reckon i am on Santa’s naughty list

Thats because people spent too much time lambasting and throwing shots about what i should have had etc. @Al Krow you say it is pitted against the stomp, but you yourself are not a fan of most PC editors, even on board pedal editors, so surely (and it doesn’t mean you should get one) you are a target audience for this? As @EBS_freak said everyone is allowed an opinion, but then in the next breath said that most people giving the opinion are deaf or in a honeymoon period, so should the opinions be listened too? Some people move in silence and don’t need to declare the pedal has been bought or not bought. The pedal will be good, of that there is little doubt, it has 2 quality teams behind it - i think we can all confidently say that - only Alex knows how many units need to be shifted to make it a ‘success’, so we will see.

@alexclaber can I ask about the innards of the pedal - for the fuzz/OD what is creating the clipping is it silicone or germanium based or a combination?
-
Yeah - we had a little chat a while ago about it. Tech21 dUg Ultrabass 1000 No longer in production. The DP3X is mighty fine and catches its essence, as do a lot of the helix patches etc out there - but getting down into the nitty gritty and variability of it - there is nowt that quite replicates it

Is this turning into a 2v1 or a battle royales with cheese
