  1. I’ll add that my old TT that @DJ '65 has now got with Haüssel’s (passive) has massive balls and would defo pass for a P Loved that Jon Snow...
  2. Agree with @chyc and what they say, I will add that the MarloweDK is an awesome one to try, it really has the most phenomenal neck and a massive sound to boot
  3. Not controversial at all, completely valid IMHO BTW a distinction has to be made between saying overrated and someone is pants - I am sure most people mentioned here, people reckon are more than decent players, but......it’s fine margins and opinions on the elite, so it seems way out of kilter
  4. Victor Wooten - he is a technician, but not a musician in the bass player sense IMHO.
  5. Really liked the Dark night finish in photos, less so on the video - but looks and sounds pretty stellar
  6. Aye - esp that roasted neck on that one
  7. Afraid I do like a relic!!! Knocking it out the park at the moment.
  8. Or get a Tonehammer preamp pedal and use through what you have? way cheaper and you can go down the power amp route as suggested later if needs be
  9. Aye, but can you imagine a sparkly one for you?!
  10. Dats a great rig - noice
  11. Nice them buddy 👍🏾👊🏾💪🏾
  12. Have to agree with the Gentleman above - pop your own together and you have full control of the process and sound - play the waiting game and you can be thrifty on the second hand market for parts, blanks etc and it’s fun! Some have gone to new homes, 3 currently hanging around.
  13. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203136671098 Nighthawk with Black labels if y’all fancy it
  14. Cheers!!! As a very broad generalisation, Delano’s are more ‘hi-fi’ (not sterile though), Sandbergs more of a tilt towards vintage sounding but modern enough, Black labels - more punch to them, a real little jab to the guts (in a good way) and slightly higher output. None of them are a bad option, the Black labels go very well with the Superlight basses, as the lightweight need a little more ‘mass‘. The Sandbergs in my MarloweDK for me are perfect - fine on their own, enough poke to make any preamp/preamp pedal come alive but subtle enough to allow sound sculpting, as opposed to for example G&L MFD pick ups which are so powerful, they are difficult to tame, Black labels are not in this category. Delano’s are their to allow you to sculpt also, but will always be a bit more modern sounding. When I had my VS4 with Sandberg big pole pick up, passive, it was great, but wasn’t quite there - not sure if it was the pick up or the whole package, put it with the M pick up on a VM - different kettle of fish - great combination, really gives that clarity to allow the P biased sound to cut through, which is where it wins IMHO Sorry I can’t be more specific, but hopefully it gives you a sonic territory to go with.
  15. You can get VM4’s cheaper depending on what finish you want if you get lucky l
  16. By that I mean I’ll take the bass and record it and forget to hand it back!! Always here buddy
  17. about the only thing I could help you with, gimme a nudge if you fancy

  19. Tech21 dUg Ultrabass - does everything with clarity, clean through too overdrive incorporating a nice ‘tube’ type tone, 2 channels mixed and the ‘distortion’ channel can be set just to be crystal clear and clean to augment the lows. Form Factor Bi1000 is a wonderfully articulate amp, clean, musical EQ but does not really colour the sound, can make other amps sound like fisher price alternatives Hartke LH1000 - it’s a beast, I loved the Hartke/Fender tone stack - simple and it executes Genzler Magellan 800 - best organic drive sound on an amp on the market, beautiful piece of kit. For me dUg amp rules them all
  20. Hi beams are the way to go IMO
  21. Configure a bass, save the code generated, email Sandberg with tweaks, see where it goes, they can accommodate most things, but there will be upcharges, and yes they do light relic through to masterpiece and of course no relic
