How many members have actually found "the one"? How long did it take? How much to ultimately find it?

The conundrum of choice...........GAS is a killer......but...so much fun. I can also justify all of my purchases (ha ha ha) and will continue to do so with each purchase!!! I am going to stay away from 5 strings.............I think......

Murphy's blooming law!! Good price as well. Checked my one out at a lesson an hour ago.....immense bottom end, need to wear a strap as not good for sitting down. Really sharp notes, love the tone. My tutor said it was incredible quality but then again it's a Yamaha. Very sought after I believe......still have to find someone who wants one though. FUlly recommend, very fast neck, light and I reckon really good for any genre that you like. No mistaking that '80s sound if you want it. Great controls as well.........fully recommend. Pretty much the same price (Richtone Music one) as I paid with shipping and duty. The dealer I bought from is Stardust Guitars in Vienna, Virginia. Can only recommend them. Have some lovely guitars in stock as well. All in all......not as good as the SHuker headless (what would be) but not that far away for what I need, sustain is very good as well, in fact great low end - never expected that!

Yes and yes! It is in A1 condition, including OHSC with key and tools. Guy in the USA bought it originally, just home use, kept in in his loft and sold it to a dealer a couple of months ago. Been looking for nearly a year I reckon and was fortunate to find this. First beg session on it this afternoon but with just ten minutes use it has some great tone and depth low end. More later....................

@Aidan63 sorry to hear that but regardless if it was widgets or wodgets I also have had regular shipments from the USA which tend to be quicker and easier to administrate than the EU orders I have experienced. Hope the delay never affected yuor business adversely.............

The BX1 has arrived, two weeks from Virginia dealer very impressed. Next.....may have to look for a Victory Artist. Had one, liked it, had to sell it...........now want another................orsomething unusual...........those Kiesels look very nice. Also got a couple on the backburner.............

What backlog? Oredered a Yamaha BX1 from Virginia just over two weeks ago, have posted this already. 14 days, picked it paid my duty/tax was playing it on Monday. USPS which links straight to Parcelforce..........$108 shipping cost........

Get a mate in the UK to buy a set and send them to you ..............................

Bought a Yamaha BX1 from a dealer in Virginia............sent it out 11 days ago, now sat in Coventry Parcelforce depot waiting to clear customs. This was a standard rate shipping via USPS and they work with Parcelforce over here. The only hold up is with UK customs so far............just in case anyone is concerned about shipping from teh USA during the pandemic......................... Ditto the comments above. I have played both and the difference in weight was quite noticeable. I could not discern any difference in sound along with other bass players

Is the whole purpose of the staycation to build a finished bass that you can take home?

Price of a pack of fags! Or a six pack in the USA! Sometimes.....bite the bullet, it's what it's worth to you ...not the resell price. Set a budget and try to stick to it. We don't buy the cheapes food, shoes, whatever. Get going on bass.....you will soon forget the price! GAS will soon set in!! Good luck! Could always get a headphone amp???
