  1. The Status was too expensive when I looked recently which is why I bought the Shuker off this site. Wanted headless, graphite and the chance to get a hand made bass. The Kramer is absolutely as you say, small, leave it on the sofa, pick it up as I go by and enjoy! Unfortunately it hasn't been out - new job commitments are the priority - as the temptation would be too much! Will look at Kiesel though.....thank you
  2. Had one of those a few years back but had to sell it unfortunately. I like them but the Kramer Duke came up for sale while I was looking and went for that instead. The BX1 is pure indulgence! Bloody GAS!
  3. Thank you for all of that, very much appreciated. Always listen to advice! I will stick with my guy for now and not deviate off the straight and narrow! But i fear his wrath! Will look at that link later and tuck it away for reference. To be honest I haven't picked up the BB for a long time as I am getting the low end that the Sisters of Mercy dish out from the Ibanez. The two Sandbergs I have easily reach the SoM sound (and the Wake, Calling Dead Red Roses, etc) but I'm loving headless too much. The Shuker has incredible sustain that I need to control/dampen so the go to is the Ibanez. Straps!! Got far too many!
  4. Completely agree. I have a lesson booked tomorrow so my tutor will kick my derrière! 35 I pay to him to be accosted!! Worth every penny when things go right though!
  5. Used to be a number of years back, just recently got back into bass again and want set up a gothic punk type thing purely for fun. The bass is my substitute for not playing rugby anymore! Loving the bass again but having started a new job in Dec I am not putting in the practice I need to apply to it.
  6. A headless BX1 from Canada. I have gone back to the '80s! Kramer Duke, Ibanez Axstar and the headless Shuker from this site. Not easy to find but not expensive in the big scheme of bass things and GAS. Same price as the BB in fact.
  7. Good point with the Yamaha choice. Will get him to look at the range. Never met a disappointed Yamaha owner and I'm just about to acquire another Yam when I sort shipping.
  8. Thanks @cuzzie it bemused me because last Feb I wanted one and shopped around on all the relevant sites, the costs were approx 300 - 450...........and now! Not really my chosen bass either as I am fortunate to have several basses which I would go to in preference. Reverb I find to be incredibly expensive. eBay is caveat emptor for most things. Just need to shop around.............
  9. It doesn't need a Phd to deciphir my name! Some good ethical points discussed o this thread. However.....why has the BB1100s gone up so much in price?? 😅
  10. Agree with you. To be harsh - it's no one else's business and you do not have the need to justify. It all balances out in the end. The bass version of Bargain Hunt !!
  11. Basic rules of capitalism could be quoted. Not aware of the scam so can't comment. So, if someone advertises a bass for 300 and you know it's market vale is 900 what do you do? A BB1100s is vintage...... not sure that rule applies.
  12. Those people are called dealers or speculators.
  13. Again it's human nature.....pass on the good deal that I got? That was the going rate at the time. That wasn't a "good" deal it was the right price at the time. I only sell on to improve my kit or if something takes a fancy. If I was to sell there are several sites, forums or trades that can be achieved. If the price of the bass is right then potential buyers will be happy. Win/Win situation for all. Bu if you apply my purchase price to what I resell it for then why are early Fenders going for thousands? I agree with your principles but unfortunately in the old light of day you sell at the current market values.........
  14. So.......... I bought my BB1100s for 300 pounds...............should i miss out on making a profit or pass that profit onto someone else? Everyone likes to make a profit, it allows them to upgrade their kit. Interpretation is the theme here, and the fear of not maximising their return. All markets are cyclical - at the moment it's a buyers market. I have bought three basses off this site, negotiated with each purchase so that both parties were happy. The other forum that says you have to sell for what you paid are rules commonly generated by cartels............. Interesting to see human nature coming into this discussion
  15. Yeah, fully accept your points but they're no Yamaha BB1100s basses! As for the Jap/Taiwan build models.......cannot see or hear any difference. Taiwan is known as a reputable build country in woodwind instruments and I could hear no difference when playing Jap or Taiwanese bb1100 basses. Yamaha BB110s v Bit Coin..................mmmmm
  16. I bought one last year for 310 quid. Albeit made in Taiwan I think in great nick..............one heck of an increase
  17. Appears to have happened almost overnight,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  18. Got a pal looking for a Yamaha BB1100s for the last couple of weeks and there are none available. Are people not selling? Are they becoming more rare? Are there other models that are scarce at present???
  19. Recommendation - this guy is excellent, can fully recommend him. Great coffee as well, puts you fully at ease and ha improved me enormously, also a great sense of humour. Even his dad is a bloody good player!!
  20. Had to nip out for this earlier, what a beauty!! Thanks @PKeri much appreciated........got my eyes on another as well....GAS
  21. Get a matching one! The chariot race on Ben Hur is in full flow!!! Sorry wrong thread!!
