1. A buy some of my basses bump so I can keep this as my home practice amp
2. Bump for the experimentalists that want a 6 string bass with a bigsby
3. I had a black one, kept the red as it looked and played nicer Just saying
4. FYI I have never tried to sell this bass I have sold 2 others
5. So finally the last bass I can bare to part with is this. I picked it up as a Christmas present from my g/f thinking yeah I like the Cure this will be ace and I've barely picked it up. I think it's mainly due to my guitar skills being massively lacking. Looks just like this except with no pickguard (which I don't have) It's in great condition apart from one scratch on the face of it and one of the knobs has taken a bit of a bump so works perfectly but doesn't twist flat it sorta goes up towards the end of it's travel. I'll get some pictures of it tonight. This is a great instrument for trios as you can do some nice thumpy bass lines by palm muting and then even below 5th fret all the chords ring out nice and clear. It has a set of Elixir 6 string bass strings designed for this sort of instrument on it and I will include a set of Fender VI strings as well. I'm after what I paid for it, not including the £35 quid I spent on strings, plus the effort to change them which is not an easy job on a bigsby. SOLD
6. Kicking this about as I'm tempted by Tredders Ibanez Artcore, for the amount of time I use this it's a waste me having it. I've had this for a few years now and overall I've had 3 Starfires, this was the first one I got and has remained the best one, it just has a really nice feel and once I changed the stock pickups to Darkstar the bass became insanely good, there is a slight gap round one of the darkstars as my tech managed to get the action really low but if you add the pickup surrounds to the darkstars they raise up to much and touch the strings (I do have the surrounds though). It is a beautiful bass to play. Obviously it's the one in the centre. SOLD I have the official Dearmond Hardcase for it, I will include an Overwater Brown leather strap with strap locks on it, I've also added chrome knobs to it. So lets see how this goes, I think I'm going to make the mistake of playing it tonight Else please buy something else off me and I'll just buy the Ibanez outright Cheers
7. I'm selling my Westone Thunder 1A for £100 for a quick sale before I put it on ebay at £150.
8. Damnit, finally found out I've got no gig on Friday and it's sold out, any chance there are some knocking about at all?
9. I've heard these cabs, they sound great and howieee is a great guy, buy with confidence. Good luck with the sale
10.
Cool, I've just bitten the bullet and bought one. I paid a little over your estimate but it had just been serviced, full re-valve and new caps. I bought it from a reputable guitar shop so it has a 6 month warranty as well.
Awesome because a full revalve is around £300 for them but should last a good 5-10 years depending on what went into it.
11.
With a few people recommending the Mesa Boogie 400+; does anyone know what the new price for one was?
Insanely it was like £1899 but you can only get them second hand now and should be £700-£1000 depending on condition and age of tubes. (That 700 would be for one that needs a full revalve personally )
12.
It's the one on the left?
Hey we spent to much time at school learning what the big and little hands are on a clock face so we brushed over left and right Fixed now anyway.
13.
Can't remember if I've posted it before, but I don't think so. Gives the illusion of being smaller than it is, such is the problem of perspective Considering swapping the Vintage out for something more Schroeder-like again though.
So you stuck a pick holder to the front of your Matamp, I do believe Jeff would be shaking his head right now
14. Just to raise some cash quick I'm after £100 for this. I'll post pictures tonight but it's the natural coloured one. Great bass, really aggressive P bass tone, slim neck just a dream to play, still kicking around whether or not to keep it but I don't think the looks are really for me. It's in good condition, few dings here and there nothing major, everything works as it should. The only "damage" is the Westone logo has been sanded off other than that there are no issues. All the hardware is brass including the nut. SOLD Thanks
15. My tour has cost me a fortune so I'm selling some of my lesser used instruments. It's the one on the left. This is a japanese made epiphone and is in very good condition, it has a few issues (sorta) its obvious to me this is how the instrument was built so I'm listing the items of work I was going to have done to it to make it a really great instrument. Neck could do with a shim (mainly due to the pickups and string height) Currently the strings are as low as they can go and while the neck could get straighter, these strings are nearly touching the bridge pickup and are really far away from the neck pickup resulting in the neck pickup sounding weak. Put something similar to a shim under the front pickup to get it closer to the strings, maybe look at rewinding it as well. Now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with the bass, I would just do these things to make it better and if it doesn't sell and something else does I will have these items done. The neck is really fat and chunky and the bass is currently strung with custom 50-110 heavy flats and tuned DGCF and it sounds HUGE, it's a shame the neck pickup doesn't have more umph because the bridge one is thumpy as hell so I can only imagine what the neck one would sound like if sorted. SOLD Cheers
16. I've used one of these for my whole tour running my 400+ speaker output into the speaker in on the back of mine and it's been the most amazing tone ever. These things are the best DI's barr none.
17. I'm just kicking about downgrading from my Darkstared Starfire to this....................... so hard to choose.
18. Or http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=85290&st=0
19. I'm funny about my Ric too I won't take it out to gigs in the 11 years I've owned it I took it to one gig where I played it for 20 minutes. Oddly though I take 5k-6k's worth of overwater's with me to every gig and the more expensive of the two gets thrown round like I'm a crazy person. Maybe you just need to get that initial ding out of the way
20. Fuses are a must with a valve amp if anything going to start popping showing the early signs of a problem it will be fuses. I blew 2 kettle leads at the start of my tour with my 400+, then it fired up normally and not a had a problem since so I put it down to cheap kettle leads.
21. I carry a spare DI well actually a few (Avalon U5 - Main DI, MXR M-80 - Essentially also a backup to my entire pedalboard, Radial ProDI - best thing to have a in a gig bag as your basic DI) but in the 3+ years I've been using valve amps I've never had one fail on a gig, and only had one go at practice but it hadn't been serviced for like 8 years. *Watches Mesa 400+ blow up at next gig now*
