1. Oh forgot to say, looks beautiful I really need to sort out ordering mine. Enjoy
2.
Hi all, I asked about this amp quite some time ago and now after a few months have received it, I think I forgot how loud this thing is just a quick few questions to anyone else who has one. 1) What exactly does the presence knob do? (seems to add more bass when turned to the right maybe like a mid-scoop?) 2) Are the 'Hi' and 'Low' inputs active/passive inputs? 3) Anyone got a fuzz/distortion sound out of it if yes what kind of settings did you use? Other than that please enjoy the pics
1 - Think of it like a Tone knob that isn't exactly what it is but best way to describe it. 2 - yeah pretty much but you aren't going to break anything using either with whatever bass, I'd like the grit so would use an Active bass on the Hi input. 3 - Gain on click setting 3 or 4 and play hard
3. Yeah it's a shame no one is ever selling those Overwater's
4. You give me a shout when you want to move either of those Overwater's on
5. Not to make it worse but I'm in Grimsby Thursday and Hull Saturday
6. Well I just read the specs and that sounds scary at 8 ohms bridged
7.
But then again....if i ran this on its own in bridged mode...... hmmmmmm
Does the Eden not do 2 ohms?
8.
Thanks for letting me know. I'd be interested to see pics/spec...
I'll get the guys number and PM you with it so you can request it all directly. Cheers
9. I've just popped my Matamp 4x10 up for sale. Personally I would say 4x10 or 8x10 or 4x12 as the 6x10 is going to be a stupid impedance that will at somepoint likely damage the GT200 you will eventually get My 4x10 has a 8 and 2 ohm switch so if your edan can do 2 ohms it can pump out its maximum wattage Reason for sale I have a Matamp 2x12, 8x10 and 4x10 and don't think I need all 3 Also if the 4x12 is literally 2 of the 2x12's like I have that will be insanely cool sounding but a bitch to get through doors. Hope this helps
10. The 400+ is louder but I think the GT200 is thicker and has a much nicer distortion, not that I've ever got a 400+ to distort (When it does it's preamp distortion so fairly average) I like to think of them as very different sounding amps. Also when I say the 400+ is louder it's a bit moot as they are both hella loud, just one will make your ears ears bleed slightly more than the other. Hope this helps
11. I always thing Hollowbodies are best being Shortscale and fairly cheap, I have a Dearmond Starfire (with Darkstar pickups) and I love it, I've tried the Jack Casady and trust me did I want to love that bass but I just really didn't think all that much of it, other than looks (That is not to say I still wouldn't buy one). I did try the 34inch scale ibanez Artcore, that was very nice and looks great, I'd look out for one of those for a taster. I have considered the Lakland as well but just think it looks too modern for a Hollowbody.
12. I know a guy in Warrington looking to get rid of his Aerodyne for like £360 or thereabouts
13. So this is the problem when you test stuff for an awesome company you end up buying it, then 6 months later they make something else and you buy that and something becomes redundant. I started my UK tour out with the Matamp 2x12 think bah this will barely keep up but boy was I wrong, so I now have 3 cabs that can all easily hit my gigging volume, the 2x12 fits in most cars and is an easy lift and the 8x10 is just so awesome i can't let it go so up for sale is my custom Matamp 4x10 These new are £559 and this has a few hard to get parts that they no longer offer as standard. It features 4 300w (Maybe more) Eminence Drivers so it has a power handling of 1200w, however a 100w tube amp can send it to ear splitting levels. It's rear ported so generally sounds bigger and bassier than my 8x10 8ohm and 2ohm switch so you can get the most out of those solid state heads that will deliver at that impedance Laser cut metal grill (Standard is cloth and these require a wait) I also have a Roqsolid Cover for it that is worth like £40 Red Tolex with Chrome/Stainless Steel Hardware These pics were done on my camera phone so it's a bit washed out they are far more red than they are pink, very eye catching onstage. Soundwise it's very loud and quite aggressive but I lent it to Monz last year for a month or 2 while he did motown covers with it and he had no complaints. This cab is in great condition as I've always tended to take my 8x10 where I could and now the 2x12 for everything else or when we need to reduce weight. WITHDRAWN Cheers
