I always felt like GK would be the anti me tone but recently I was jamming through an MB150 at my techs and its a very nice amp much better than I remember when I tried one 5 or so years ago. I also did an American tour with a 1001 and an Ampeg Fridge, now granted I used a Sansamp with it for the grit but, it was loud, punchy and very reliable . I think when an MB150 pops up cheap second hand I'll pick one up as I have nothing that can be carried in one hand
Wasn't that mine? Whatta cab!
Yeah it was GT200 is a great head and fairly well rounded, but being from what is essentially a custom shop can be voiced certain ways, for example Monz's as I'm sure he will explain is voiced to stay cleaner for longer and I've discussed a 6 position drive knob that does the first 4 of Monz's amp and then the last 2 of the "stock" GT200 Now just to be clear I don't own a GT200, I will but stupidly decided to decorate my flat throughout so can't really afford a 7th tube amp right now However me and Jeff are so sure I'll be getting one there is a GT200 red headcase waiting for me to buy the GT200 to go into it Umcoo can give a good description of the grind available as I hammered it when we were there collecting 2x12's. But they do stay clean fairly well particularly if set like Monz's but with the drive control you can get it grindy at bedroom levels or clean at stadium levels as people who were at Bassday will moan about I'd defo recommend trying one, even speaking to Jeff to see if he can direct you to someone down south with a GT200 that might be willing to let you try theirs. They also have that Green 2x15 as well as the 8x10 (fully loaded) knocking about upstairs and I'm only 25miles away from the Factory so if you're doing a drive from Kent I'm happy to let anyone try my cabs and I've got an 8x10, 4x10 and 2x12 But I can't stress the trying part of it, go to the factory, hear it, tell them what you think, what you want etc because they won't let anything leave the factory unless you are happy with it, however this is very difficult if you just order over the phone with no experience of one. Hope this helps

Mine is 30kg's Yes call Matamp on 0845 6444 606 ask for Jeff and tell him you are from Basschat and you've seen all these 2x12's floating around

I have 2 actually a PA100mk1 and mk2, great amps actually one of my fav bass sounds is one of them and my 4x10, however I do like to run it full whack into an 8x10 not even remotely clean when doing that but sounds awesome. I lent Monz one of them while he got his GT200 built. Defo worth the expense of getting one up and running.

The cabs are mentioned in the cabs section But clearly from the website it's not kept all that up to date.

Yeah very much agreed

Since someone else posted it No idea who this is but this is how the logo on my Matamp GT200 will look when I can afford it.
2 off 4x10 is definately the way forward sounds the same if you have them both sealed and a whole lot easier to get around on your own... I've started gigginf the 2 4x10s in the pub band and I can get them in and out of venues on my own where I just wouldn't be able to with the 8x10 also you can just drop to the 1 4 x10 if you feel like whimping out on the sound lol PS will get plenty of piccies of my stuff up as soon as I can
See I personally think moving an 8x10 is easier because I rarely have to carry it but I can drag an 8x10 in one hand where as your 2 4x10's are 2 2 arm carries. One thing to consider as well is Monz has the neo 4x10 and they are substantially lighter than my 4x10 which is a difficult/awkward 1 person up stairs lift. So I'd recommend having 2 people carry it and if you are doing this then you can get away with an 8x10 because it's a very easy cab for 2 people to carry upstairs and for the most part you just drag it around. Think how you carry a cab upstairs one at the top one at the bottom of the cab on has the cab really low and the other has it really high, with the 8x10 it's sloped with the stairs so both people have it at the same height and you can ask any member of my band which is the easier cab to move around and they will all say the 8x10. But in saying that I'm glad I own both and if I get another 4x10 it would be a sealed neo one for going ontop of the ported ceramic one I already own. Hope this helps

They actually have laser printing vinyl facilities so they can get pictures put on the cab if you want
Many thanks for the replies chaps. I think I'll get my Xmas gigs out of the way and then book myself a visit. £350-£400 seems like a steal for these. Luckily I only live about 30 mins away. Now which colour...? Hmmm...
Purple is the most pimp
EIGHTY?
Matamp 8x10, mine was the 2nd one made, technically the first one made to be sold and they figured it would sound cool, not sure how many others they have called this
Shipping was £30, but i dunno where the other £20 came from. I'm not grudging it though, i would've paid several hundred quid more.
Thinking about it it might be the piping as that does take a great deal more effort to do. But I guess they gave you the full price before they built anything and you agreed

Yeah nothing leaves the Matamp factory without you playing first to confirm you are happy with it. Monz and Butler's are voiced more vintage as in vintage by default, mine and Umcoo's is very what you put in you get out, use a vintage tube amp get a vintage sound, use a hifi head get a hifi sound. Also now available in weed tolex
That is fab. I take it these cabs are special order? What's the lead time like? Are they 'vintage' voiced? Sorry for all the questions but that cab has got my juices flowing.
I ordered mine Monday it was built by about Thursday I collected it Sunday
