Ok Cab has left the building but we managed to get measurements before it left. 30kgs h74cm x w56cm x d37cm How this includes the skids on the bottom and the handles on the side which are partly recessed but curved so stick out a tiny bit. I've now ordered my new red one hopefully be ready for Saturday when I'll get my red headcase made as well. Cheers guys

Ok, right, this is going to sound really stupid or possibly really clever as there is maths involved. I have the first Matamp bass 2x12 made about 2 months ago and it is stunning, loud, small, lightweight etc etc. Only issue is it's black and all my other Matamp cabs are red> Having swapped a preamp valve over in my 400+ I think I'll be keeping it and getting a headcase similar to Ashevan09 one. Which leaves the dilemma, if you have 1 cab that is black and 2 cabs that are red what colour do you get a headcase for a 400+ in????? So these cost £350 new, it will cost me around £100 to have it recovered but seems a shame to waste all this perfectly good tolex so I'm willing to let it go for £250 so that someone can get a great cab and I can get another great cab in a different colour see that was the maths. I'm not willing to go below this price as anything over £100 quid loss on the cab I might as well get it recovered. I'll post the dimensions later but its a 600w 2x12, now because I have lots of vintage amps I got this so it was switchable between 16ohms and 4ohms. I've always felt the sound is very much what you get in you get out, if you put a 100w vintage tube amp through it while playing a bass with flats you get a huge thumpy sound from it, but dial in the clarity on your bass and you can get beautiful even high end. To me this is the best small cab I've ever used. Also this means I can wrap up the new one and pretend someone loves me on Christmas morning So to be clear £250 no offers, no trades and collection only Based near Manchester

Bass Day UK 2009 (Royal Northern College of Music - Nov 22)
They need to do something about the noise as even though they have double doors, the racket from outsid ethe auditorium was very noticeable up until the vendors started to dismantle their stands. It didn't help to have Yolanda right next to the theatre door with Matamp and yamaha right next to her. There were several stands on the lower floor not making any noise that could have been swapped with the amplified vendors. Just turning the bloody things down would have helped.
I'm up for anything that involves me not having to carry all my gear upstairs. -
We definately need some more genres covered, rock for instance. Let's get Tony Levin, JJ Burnel, and how about Steve Harris next year??
OMG I would love to see Tony Levin there, also a vote for Pino

Bassday just wouldn't work if the only time you could try equipment is when no act is on. You'd have how ever many hundred people trying to play whatever they could in half hour blocks. They had this problem in the first couple of bass days at life cafe when it's all essentially in the same room, this one had far better isolation. towards the end of the day when no one was playing and an act was on you couldn't hear anything outside of the auditorium, but as soon as someone came out and the doors opened, could hear everything really well and really loud, seems to me it was very well soundproofed but I could be wrong. Would anyone mind filling me on what Nathan East discussed like I said i wanted to see it but it was so nice and quiet when he was on outside I just couldn't bring myself to go inside. -

To be fair thinking about this show I remember the last one i went to before this the 2nd one Janek played at I think 2007? maybe 2006? All I thought then was to much of that 4 finger turbo playing, so maybe each year another nasty trend bucks it's head up. I hope I go to the one where people get sick to death of Motown and P funk riffs -
All i saw Yolanda do was slap? =/
Maybe we were watching different Yolanda's I know she did slap but definately didn't do the machine gun slapping I heard for most of the day
If we go on the £6.50 per watt assumption (that is farfetched and rediculous) then i could get a '' GT100 '' for £650.. right? right? Okay, i'll maybe just keep saving then Or buy Steve's 400+ to ''see me through''
Either way a GT200 is getting bought -
Who's doing all the slapping then?? Everyone seems to agree that it is inappropriate and only one of the many styles you would want to try out when serious about some gear...? Stevie W puts lots of work into that day so its a shame people feel those who attend are slapping the pleasure out of going.
Hmmm I seem to recall a certain gentleman on the Rotosound stand and someone in a Shuker T-shirt being the worst offenders.
See if they could make me a nice wee 100W all-valve head for sub-£800 i'd jump on the bandwagon, but right now i've just not got the money, noo! How much are these GT200's costing folk? £1300-ish?
Retail is 1399, Factory Direct is 1299 -
Steve, I was hoping you wouldn't take this as i dig at you in the slightest. You weren't anywhere near my thoughts when I wrote the above and it was great to see you! Please note that by no means everyone who tried a bass came into the above description
Oh no I know but it did make me laugh because is exactly what I said to ACG but only for the reasons above. Was nice to see you again.
-
Yes, the pre-amp is a bit different maybe I can go through it with you? No, I know how it works
See I did that to ACG basses but in my defense you showed me and I have used Wal's and Alembics before I then proceeded to dial my tone in very quickly and then debated which is better this or the new 2 knob one East has made. I also didn't slap on it But in all seriousness, yes it was horrible the whole day really got to me, to the point I didn't watch any of the shows not even Nathan East. Luckily I was surrounded by some very talented none slap happy players, Yolanda and the guy that came with Ged Greene I think Bassday should really have like some quiet time, like a block of 20minutes per hour where all testing has to be off and people can just talk to the people that run the stalls. I got the most info during the Nathan East block, no one was playing I spoke to Bulldog, East and Ged Greene all of whom I'm having work done in the next 2-3 weeks.
Loz - just put on a tune that really inspires you (It's YYZ for me, but I understand that's fair personal!) and I'm sure you'll be back into playing in no time. The slap-fest really can take it out of you - which is one of the reasons I loved the ACG weekend - almost no slap at all.
I'm in the process of hacking my thumb off, I've seen the damage that can be done and though not guilty yet, power corrupts. -
