1.
PICS OF MATAMPZZZ NOW PLZ?!!?!?
I didn't take any, but it was cool hearing Yolanda play through a GT200 and 2 8x10's, wasn't too bad when I played through it either. Sure people will have loads, I think Andrew from matamp has video of the Jam.
2. Phew don't know where to start. I was there from 9.30am so anyone that saw near the end of the day I apologise, I was seriously %^&*ed. Highlight for me was jammin with Yolanda, you know obviously. I didn't watch any of the performers I wanted to see Nathan East but I was just so braindead by that time of the day, I didn't even attempt to watch. Gearwise it just hit home I'd made the right choices, best basses I played all day other than mine were Overwater and the sooner I can shift my 400+ for a GT200 the better. I greatly enjoyed trying out the John East preamps but didn't really fall in love with the basses they we're in. At the moment seriously considering gutting my Overwaters for this new 2 concentric knob preamp John has made, I really liked the filter one but the new one has some great sounds very quickly and far less knobs. Think I'll be taking a few of my basses to Ged Green for a setup and speaking to Stevie about having some lessons, lord knows he needs them (jking). The barage of slap was insane and really got on my tits after 12 hours luckily I had Yolanda sat in the booth oposite me playing bass how it should be played, soulful and so in the pocket. I think I walked past Ped for sure, don't know about any other Bass Chatters. But was nice to see you all and I really wish I wasn't in work today
3.
Great day, got a bit of an hangover this morning, I was in the vicinity of MB1 for most of the day, we had a few beers! We were in an area where stevie threw a set of strings, it hit MB1's pint and drowned me! Got some GAS, which I will be moving on today, could go in one of two directions, still mulling it over T
I tried that Blue Jazz, very nice just sayin.
4. Bought this cable and mismeasured since both me and my guitarist hang our guitars pretty low. Its 50cm from jack tip to jack tip but about 42cm of actual cable length. It's right angle 1/4 inch to 3.5mm screwing jack, it will work in other wireless with the same conector, I think like Audio Technica, Shure etc OBBM charges £19 for this inc p&p so I'll let this go for £15 inc p&p it's been used once and is in perfect condition. Also did I mention it's blue
5.
OK... you can tell this is all new to me! I will be using the 2 amps merely as Power Amps so the EQ on those will be bypassed. The preamp will provide the EQ. Ashdown have told me the crossover outputs from the RPM1 need to be connected to the effects return of each amp to avoid damage... Yours sincerely, Confused from Derbyshire!!!! ;-) Might be easier for you to show me as you say.... hopefully next week sometime when the RPM gets to me.....!
True going through the fx return would bypass the preamp and most likely be safer but that's not to say you can't have a very guitar style eq on on the 2120
6. Easy bass into rpm fx send to 2120 line level input to 1st amp eq'd for highs then rpm normal output to amp 2 eq'd for lows this is you're rpm sending 2 identical signals to be processed differently
7. Well what you might not know is john didn't really send highs and lows to different amps he just sent a full range signal around but eqed it as highs and lows. We could mess around with this when we meet up if you want
8. Checked set the 2120 to -10db output and then you can plug it into the input on the RPM-1 But what you are doing seems like it will create some feedback by refeeding it between the 2 units. Can you explina in more depth what you are trying to do.
9. Is the 2120 all that amplified? If it runs at line level then don't plug it into the input of the RPM it would have to run in the fx loop. I'll have a look at both online and tell you what you are best doing. I assume you are biamping? and want to effect the highs and lows separately? Cheers
10.
Even cooler was he made up that head unit right in front of me in about an hour.
Good he can make me one as well then can't he
11. Ash just sent me pics of his 400+ headcase Matamp made for him. Looks awesome, I think I may keep my 400+ now Few things I'd change, gold grills on the side as well as the top over the fans and 2 top handles and finally mine would be red I think Ash is doing this as well, but I'd remove the front handles on the 400+ make it just look like a normal bass amp not a rackmount head.
12. Yeah will likely do it after Bassday so anyone that is local can get another go on them before going to Matamp andthose that couldn't make Bassday will get to try it all out as well. Cheers
13.
I think I'm looking for a more 'aggressive' sounding cab...can you even get agressive sounding cabs? Whilst I dig Motown for the music, I'm not looking to sound that way. If we could arrange something in Manc perhaps around bassday weekend that would be cool, but it's competely upto you guys...I'm not the one lugging around bass cabs
Well I have my own practice room so whenever you want to come round just let me know. Like I say we haven't compared our 2x12's so can't comment on which would be best for you.
14. His is made to be more vintage sounding, more wadding inside to give him that motown thump. Mine is a bit more what you put in you get out so I can get the thump, with the right style bass and amp. We've not compared them side by side though, I'm sure it can be arranged if Manchester is close, still wanting to try my main rig with 2 8x10's
15. Anyone is welcome to try any of my 3 Matamp cabs whenever they want, just shoot me a PM.
16.
Just about! Deposit-wise I'm done now. Just need to wait for it to be built! 3-4 weeks apparently. Out of stock of the transformers. Hm, just a random musing, but did your GT200 come with Speakon jacks as standard?
Yes Speakons as standard one per impedance tap
17. I don't know I absolutely love my Simms, if you're not in a rush I will be able to buy it sooner or later just waiting for my 400+ to sell, I have a buyer but not till the end of November.
18. I have 4 amps and 3 cabs I use in various combination for rigs. Our Innocence Lost Rig Matamp 4x10 Matamp 8x10 Alembic F-1X Mesa Boogie Strategy 400 Mesa Boogie Strategy 400 Practice/Studio Rig Dynacord MV15 Matamp 2x12 Small Gig Rig Simms Watt PA100 Matamp 2x12 Medium Gig Rig Simms Watt PA100 Matamp 4x10 Medium - Large Gig Simms Watt PA100x2 Matamp 8x10 (I can take both heads and power each side of the cab with an individual head) I play with a few people and dep occasionally but my main gigging setup is the Our Innocence Lost one.
19. It has 3 EL84's and 3 ECC83's Works flawlessly for 30minutes or so then a loud hum is introduced into the signal chain, signal still passes through it but I'm assuming it's a cap issue as I recall it has the original 50's dynacord caps in it. I'd like to keep it really but retubing 2 Strategy's is very expensive so don't have the spare cash for the Beck.
20. Trade for a Dynacord MV15 that needs a bit of a service? http://tinypic.com/useralbum.php?ua=45It2s...yPk4r7hoQ%3D%3D

Line6 M9

Hey man feel free to bring it round to mine and I'll give it a crack if you want. Mine did it straight out of the box. Cheers
22. Why not get like an old Sound City 200 and get a local (decent) tech to turn it into exactly what you want since all/most of the parts are there for that Hiwatt amp. Also I believe it's quite hard to get the Hiwatt style amps to distort and they just have headroom for days, but this is only what guitarists tell me. Or buy my 400+ Cheers
23. Very very tempting, shame I'm getting my amp retubed at the moment, will have to see what else I can sell
24. Got this in a trade, not going to be using it anytime soon, I'll get some pics tonight, but its in good conditions few scuff's here and there that are difficult to show up in a photograph SOLD Here is a pic to get you started. Has velcro on the bottom and no box. Cheers
25. Get it or give me their number Looks in great condition, all of these were hand so some differences in the build could be apparent, I don;'t think a different scratchplate would make a huge difference, they are so unique and rare these days people are just happy to find them. I'm sure they are going for more than 1k usd on US Ebay
