1. As a habit I tend to keep what come off basses when I buy them so I have 3 packs of 4 strings, I know 1 is shortscale flats and 2 are normal stainless steel, they are all in a single envelope ready to go I just want like £2-£3 to cover postage and anyone can have them. Cheers
2. I have 2 actually a PA100mk1 and mk2, great amps actually one of my fav bass sounds is one of them and my 4x10, however I do like to run it full whack into an 8x10 not even remotely clean when doing that but sounds awesome. I lent Monz one of them while he got his GT200 built. Defo worth the expense of getting one up and running.
3. Give me an E Oh wait that's illegal
4. The cabs are mentioned in the cabs section But clearly from the website it's not kept all that up to date.
5. Yeah very much agreed
6.
'Tis Al Cisneros from many a doom/stoner band, so they tell me.
I mean the 2nd picture I know all about Al
7. Since someone else posted it No idea who this is but this is how the logo on my Matamp GT200 will look when I can afford it.
8. The normal 2x12 is about 30kg's this one however is closer to 40kg's
9. Pffft after practice, it could get scuffed by then. Roqsolid do covers for this cab, I need to get me one before next week
10. So where's this bass terror
11. Sorry man I checked and it's just a bit to rich for his blood.
12. I have a friend after one of these, I'll call him now and let you know
13.
2 off 4x10 is definately the way forward sounds the same if you have them both sealed and a whole lot easier to get around on your own... I've started gigginf the 2 4x10s in the pub band and I can get them in and out of venues on my own where I just wouldn't be able to with the 8x10 also you can just drop to the 1 4 x10 if you feel like whimping out on the sound lol PS will get plenty of piccies of my stuff up as soon as I can
See I personally think moving an 8x10 is easier because I rarely have to carry it but I can drag an 8x10 in one hand where as your 2 4x10's are 2 2 arm carries. One thing to consider as well is Monz has the neo 4x10 and they are substantially lighter than my 4x10 which is a difficult/awkward 1 person up stairs lift. So I'd recommend having 2 people carry it and if you are doing this then you can get away with an 8x10 because it's a very easy cab for 2 people to carry upstairs and for the most part you just drag it around. Think how you carry a cab upstairs one at the top one at the bottom of the cab on has the cab really low and the other has it really high, with the 8x10 it's sloped with the stairs so both people have it at the same height and you can ask any member of my band which is the easier cab to move around and they will all say the 8x10. But in saying that I'm glad I own both and if I get another 4x10 it would be a sealed neo one for going ontop of the ported ceramic one I already own. Hope this helps
14. They actually have laser printing vinyl facilities so they can get pictures put on the cab if you want
15. Suppose we should link to this till he gets his internet back on. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=57336
16.
Many thanks for the replies chaps. I think I'll get my Xmas gigs out of the way and then book myself a visit. £350-£400 seems like a steal for these. Luckily I only live about 30 mins away. Now which colour...? Hmmm...
Purple is the most pimp
17.
EIGHTY?
Matamp 8x10, mine was the 2nd one made, technically the first one made to be sold and they figured it would sound cool, not sure how many others they have called this
18.
Shipping was £30, but i dunno where the other £20 came from. I'm not grudging it though, i would've paid several hundred quid more.
Thinking about it it might be the piping as that does take a great deal more effort to do. But I guess they gave you the full price before they built anything and you agreed
19. Yeah nothing leaves the Matamp factory without you playing first to confirm you are happy with it. Monz and Butler's are voiced more vintage as in vintage by default, mine and Umcoo's is very what you put in you get out, use a vintage tube amp get a vintage sound, use a hifi head get a hifi sound. Also now available in weed tolex
20.
That is fab. I take it these cabs are special order? What's the lead time like? Are they 'vintage' voiced? Sorry for all the questions but that cab has got my juices flowing.
I ordered mine Monday it was built by about Thursday I collected it Sunday
21. All the guys that came with me are in bands I play in Well them and my tour manager
22. Well that cab is £400 not £350 due to the more expensive drivers. Still freakin cheap when you look at what else you can buy new for £450
23. They look meaty when you stack a wall of 4 of them
24. You're kidding right? Having got Matamp stuff I play with my back to the audience and just stare at the cabs, my 2x12 rig sat in my lounge for hours and it kept drawing my attention away from the TV
25. You've got the Monz Model 2x12 no wonder you hurt your arm that thing is like 10kg's heavier than mine, but defo louder and fuller
