Not used this since I got rid of my Strategy. This is a fantastic studio quality clean di/preamp, I actually owned an Avalon U5 when I bought this and felt the sound from this was just as clear. It's 2 channels, has 1/4inch and xlr ins and outs, and some filtering options to dial out the boom in your sound. No issues with this, great condition. £80ono Cheers

India built 80's fender made Stratocaster, really nice low action, new set of strings and recently rewired. Functionally fine and plays and sounds beautiful but it's a got a good few scratches and dents on it. But it makes for a nice beater guitar, black with black scratchplate and pickups with maple neck and fretboard. £100ono Pics tonight

Right finally caved due to me having some important shows coming up and me only having 1 fully functional transmitter. I have 3 full sets of X2 sets but I'm breaking them down so people can buy what they need and treat it like spares Never had any issues using these in the UK or US but there are "issues" with owning these but tbh I'm hoping this sale appeals to those looking for spares for the now discontinued model. 3 x Perfectly functional, great condition (2 unused) receivers - £65 each 1 fully functional transmitter - £65 1 good condition transmitter that is missing the clip on the back and occasionally cuts out - £50 1 transmitter fully functional but few issues, the clip on the back is bent but still functional and the locking jack section has come out, I still have this and think it would be very simple to glue back i, it does how ever work with out this though the jack could easily be pulled out - £40 I think I have one box for these so who ever buys the first full set can have that. All transmitters will come with the stock cable and for an additional £10 each I have 2 functional but worn OBBM wireless cables for these Open to offers, no trades, need to get cash together because you all know how crazy expensive G30's are.

Steve Lawson - lessons in and around BIRMINGHAM (changed)
tayste_2000 replied to Steve Lawson's topic in Tutors Available
Awesome Steve, I should be moving to Macclesfield soon which puts me about an hour outside of Birmingham on the train, just checked the prices and it's pretty reasonable to pop down for a 2 hour lesson every month or so. -
I just sent Ian over at Ghost Effects an email and thought it might be worth posting it here incase someone has some better ideas or is just interested in the build that is going to happen
Dear Ian I had a bass fuzz face built by yourself a year or so ago and I\'m very happy with it so I\'m wondering if you could possibly help me out with another project I have in mind. I\'ve recently purchased a Fender Fuzz Wah, now I don\'t know if you are familiar with these but functionally they are amazing, sound wise they are a bit crap. In this link you should be able to see the functionality I\'m talking about The wah works as any wah would expect the switch isn\'t under the treadle meaning it\'s a nice solid true bypass switch. The fuzz has a similar switch and the gain is controlled by moving the treadle left or right (it\'s a basical wah mechanism using string to turn a pot) it then had a trim pot under neath for fuzz volume and a switch to change it from Fuzz -> Wah into Wah ->Fuzz My plan was to get the wah replaced with my 70\'s Kimbara wah that needs a rehouse anyway due to an iffy switch and get the fuzz swapped out for the Ghost Effects Bass Fuzz Face you made for me. This poses a few issues, first being the Ghost Face doesn\'t like being placed after the wah, it works perfectly fine with a buffer in between it so I\'ll either need a buffer making or supply a 3rd pedal in this case a Dredgetone Angler that has a buffered bypass and build a 3rd effect in which is an overdrive which to me wouldn\'t be the end of the world. 2nd issue is power, I know the Ghost Face reverses polarity so it can\'t be daisy chained, I have no idea what polarity the wah takes as it\'s battery only. My intention is to run this effect as battery only anyway so I would have no issue running 2 batteries inside, one for the fuzz and one for the wah. Though if it could be done with 1 that would be great. The good news is the Fender Fuzz Wah is HUGE it can easily accomodate all this circuitry and more. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in building for me. Kind Regards
So there it is, hopefully Ian is up for building it else I might have to hit Max at SFX up but I know that\'s gonna be a fair old chunk of cash. Anyway, thoughts, comments, insight?

I use one and it's great, very quick to pickup your note, perfect bypass and the visibility is excellent even in pitch black or outdoors. The size and build quality are big plus on a touring board. For reference I've owned Korg DT-10 Boss TU-2 Korg DTR-2000 Peterson Strobostomp 1 Peterson Strobostomp 2 Planet Waves

Oh I forgot to mention as well once Jack had finished, Wilko Johnson from Dr Feelgood was on and he had Norman Watt-Roy on bass, whom I also met him later on

Got invited by a friend to the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival on Friday to see Jack Bruce and the Norman Beaker band. Oddly enough Norman lives in the same town as me and someone was just recommending to me a few days earlier that I go check him out. Now Jack Bruce is one of my bass heroes I love his style his tone etc etc, so I got to the gig and got to the front right under Jack's nose. I was just blown away, having coming away from the gig and checking out other live performances I'd say his voice is better than it's ever been, his playing was stunning but a bit sparse, very lead bass esq with the organist filling out a lot of the band sound. His gear was what you'd expect, 2 Hartke XL 4x10 and 1x15 stacks with a HA3500 on one and a HA5500 on the other, sm57 on one of the 10's and then I'm told 2 di boxes. He used his fretless Jack Bruce signature Warwick all night, I don't know if anyone has ever commented but it's got side red led's in it. I could see his backup bass resting on a gigbag and it was a Gibson EB3 (I assume) it certainly wasn't his old 60's one it may have even been a Warwick signature but it looked absolutely brand spanking new. He played the whole gig with his right hand and the neck pickup and only moved closer to the neck when playing, I was so close I could hear his amp (I was technically stood behind the PA ) it definitely was very mid heavy but it had a good chunk of grind to it as well that I wouldn't have thought was possible with the Hartke's, anyway Jack sounded like Jack, amazingly articulate. Once the gig had finished I hung around trying to get an autograph and came to the conclusion that Jack wouldn't be coming out to the general public so I went outside and found the stage door, just as I did his tour manager was pulling the people carrier around so I offered to held him get the gear in the car. As I'd suspected Jack was only using the HA5500 stack and the HA3500 and other 4x10 and 1x15 were a backup, it was there he told me about the 2 DI signals, I can only assume one pre and post the Harkte. So once this stuff was in the car, the tour manager said he was just going to get Jack. Jack comes out and gets into the car, I sheepishly asked "Excuse me Jack, sorry to bother you but I couldn't get an autograph and a handshake could I?" to which he responded "Well you're not really (bothering me), I can't shake your hand as I've got terrible cramps but I'll try and sign something for you" so I got my Jack Bruce autobiography signed, I had my vinyl copy of Songs For A Tailor in the car but I didn't want to take it into the gig or try and run and get it before he left. Now one thing I will say is, Jack was very gracious throughout his gig and was grateful to be at the gig and this was a festival so it would have been hard for him to hang around, I mean the man is near 70 and you can really see it when you meet him, he looks in great health on stage but afterwards it's clear he's giving it his all. Anyway enjoy the pics (sorry they were all taken on an Iphone) Setlist: First Time I Heard The Blues Mellow Down You Burnt The Tables On Me (He didn't play this) Neighbour Neighbour Politician Born Under A Bad Sign We're Going Wrong White Room Sunshine Of Your Love Encore: Spoonful or Sitting On Top (He played Sitting On Top)
