Just bought 11 yards of red tolex so that should keep me in Matamp gear for a bit

Help sourcing some Red Basket Weave Tolex
tayste_2000 replied to tayste_2000's topic in Amps and Cabs
Ah doesn't matter I've bought from the above now and they will import from America. Cheers -
Check us out here www.ourinnocencelost.com I only really take the 8x10 out and occasionally the smaller cabs for smaller gigs, I'm just getting something that makes the 4x10 into a big rig so I have a choice incase I want to take something a bit different or if I want to take loads to like an outdoor festival

Got some more Matamp stuff I'm going to be buying and they run out of the Red Basket Weave Tolex and I need to try and find somemore before I'm forced to go with a slightly different colour. I've already found this one http://www.allparts.uk.com/online-shop/amp...nch-p-5159.html but it's pretty expensive and they're going to have to import from America so I'm just wondering if anyone knew anyone with a stash of some? Cheers

What cab is inbound? Are you going to collect? I'm planning a trip to the factory on the 18th July incase anyone wants to meet up and hang out. My next cab will be one of Matamps new secret projects and it will really make this rig scary

Forget the 2x12 this is what you need 600w of tube power (give or take)

Never thought I would see the day my first tube amp left me but the long and short of it is it's barely been used in the past year and I have some more Matamp stuff coming that makes it even more redundant. This one has been in my possession probably for around 4 years and has been round at least 3 other BC'ers before me so I'd like to keep it in the family. It was retubed with Groove Tube 6l6's at a cost of £300 a few weeks before it got shelved as the Matamp GT200 arrive, barely used since. The amp has been maintained and given regular services by my tech and tube genius Dave Lunt, it is a particuarly gainy example of a 400+ but sounds great when pushed and is currently sporting a 12AT7 to make it a bit smoother. I will also drop it by Daves for a service before it leaves my possession. This is a very early 80's example (I think 1982) so has the 6 band graphic eq instead of the 7 band graphic (so a bit rarer) Amp is in a great condition with only a few scratches round the holes where you mount it in a rack case. It spent most of it's life in a shockmounted rack case. Here is some blurb from the manufacturer http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Out.../bass_400_.html It truely is an amazing amp it's just never used and it should go to someone who gigs it reguarly. I have also shorted the power cord and added an IEC connector and I will include some spare slo-blo fuses that I have lying around for the amp itself along with a full set of used but still usable EHX 6l6's. Here are some pics to wet your appetite and I will get more tonight. I can ship this amp but at buyers expense. Please not the amp does not include the headcase sleeve pictured above or a rack case. I'm after £700 but open to offers not really after any trades though. Feel free to ask me any questions Cheers
It's not the lightest amp in town, but they know i'm there.
Ditto

Had a particuarly loud practice last night so had to hook this up I think I should have 3 Matamp goodies coming before the end of the month
-
Ok we'll see
-
Ah well I'm sure I'll acquire one, one way or another
-
I am a die hard SFT fan and they mix so well with Matamps its a simple choice for me
-
I really can't say............................... yet. I'm going down in a week or 2 and should be able to tell everyone then once I've been able to make sure it works as it should and sounds like a Matamp should.
-
We can't we are sworn to secrecy
-
You just let me know when you want to sell that Matamp Slave to pay for all this work
-
Yeah it's nice when you also have a matching 8x10, 4x10 and GT200 all in the same colour to match the above. Though they don't have anymore of it so I'm having to pick another red for all my future stuff.
DB112s heavily scooped?! I know the GS might have a scoop, but the DB series is mid-central! Looking good btw. What are the normal 'aesthetics' of the stock Matamp 2x12 cabinets?
Ah sorry my confusion I was thinking of the GS range Here's my 2x12 FYI that's RED not PINK
As there was some interest in 112's thought i'd post pics of my new ones picked up from Jeff yesterday, These were a custom order as they don't do a 112 bass cab as standard. I based the dimensions on the aguilar DB112, these are 8ohm sealed cabs with a 400 watt neo speakers identical to the ones in my 212, has metal carry handles at the side. really pleased with the result as usual given them a qick blast at low volume will give them a proper run out at weekend, for info price was £280 each
Lovely, I assume they aren't heavily scooped like the aggies are? I'm tempted by that 1x12 in the for sale section but I have another Matamp purchase on the horizon. make sure you post them in the Matamp Porn thread

Anyone who wants to hear these is welcome to shoot me a PM I've got the 8x10, ported 4x10 and 2x12 and of course the GT200 I mean I'm only 25miles from the factory but I gig a lot and can always bring one of these if I'm gigging nearby for you to hear.
mine was 450 ;<
Yeah but that was a while ago and the diagonal is a lot cheaper than the vertical monstrosity
what kind of volume does the neo 2x12 put out? is it up there with the barefaced super 12, or your average 4x10?
I'd say louder than your average 4x10 it slayed the barefaced compact when I a/b'ed them I normally gig with an 8x10 but I did an entire tour mostly without PA support with the 2x12 and it handled all my gigs fine.
-
I wanna say around 900 but might be 750 I can't recall since they are essentially custom order also depends which version you go for. Tbh it's the only Matamp cab that hasn't slated me, don't get me wrong I nearly bought 2 until I tried the first 8x10 and ported 4x10. I'd ring Jeff for a quote since I'm half guessing

Yep call 0845 644 4606 and speak to Jeff tell him Steve Taylor sent you and he'll sort you right out, he's probably still at the factory now
