1. For all you know you'll need 2 Thanks for the kind words
2.
This one has actually gone round this forum quite a bit, this could even be your old one! haha.
Yeah it's Kiwi's you can tell by the slightly different power switch.
3. Bought this recently to tie off some loose ends in my effect evolution but given what I already own (which is pretty much the cream of the crop in the bass pedal world) it's just redundant to keep it. Here are my thought on it. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...t&p=1193506 Some info http://www.tonefactor.com/mad-professor-bl...-overdrive.html Now this pedal is brand new, only used to see what I think of it, I have added velcro to the bottom as I do with every pedal that arrives , but like I say brand new, mint condition comes with box and everything. Price is £100 firm including special delivery, I won't budge on this as it's much less than the new price anywhere in Europe and way cheaper than buying from the US with postage and duties so please no offers or trades I don't have soundclips, nor is it likely I'll have time to do any before the end of the week. That should cover it all Cheers
4. Yeah, I don't think you'd benefit from it, I'm seriously considering selling mine. I pitted it against the Subdecay Tomato Fuzz and I prefered the Subdecay. Again that's not to say it's bad, it just depends on what you own and unfortunately given everything I own it's just redundant and I tend to let the new pedals go over replacing something I've had a while.
5.
Pure gas for that mini dirt board! Those connectors look well tidy - where dya get them from?
Ebay I think, they were very cheap but sound great and with me mainly using pt mini and nano boards I don't really struggle with length.
6. Will do my best but its the 1st reissue so it's identical to the old one as opposed to the newest ones which have slightly more gain on tap apparently
7. Straight into the amp it's not designed to go in the fx loop
8. M13 is the better pedal if it's going to be your only pedal and you really like to experiment. M9 is great if you just want it as part of your board as like you say once you run a comp all the time you don't have a lot else to play with. Personally I have an M13 and then small boutique pedalboards. M9 is very cool though as it's very small compared to the M13 but they serve different functions, I had both for a while then sold the M13, then sold the M9 then rebought the M13. I use it at home to experiment with fx while my band board is pretty much set in stone, this covers everything else and prevents future purchases. M5 looks fun though
9. You can only imagine how much fun this is with a GT200 Ignore settings as was fiddling at time and almost all of those there sound like ass
10. Don't believe everything that you read, believe what you hear. I had no issues with the Facial Fuzz infact at one point it caused me to sell off all my boutique fuzz pedals. Tube comp makes a great phat boost and there are plenty of other great gain sounds in there that don't need to be blended
11. No worries I've not spent anymore time with any of these recently hopeing to get to noodle a bit tonight but we'll see.
12. Very classy, I like this a lot
13. Yeah for sure, Phat phuk is another pedal I need to try. Love one knob dirty boosts
14. Damn you, hit me up when u get bored of it
15. Ok, so sat at practice last night with the cream pie, bbbod, angler and SFT on a pt nano, it was a very very cool but point less board Now I never tried the original BBBOD so I can't really comment how close they are. I'm just putting my thoughts out there on the bbbod as a new pedal. Firstly, to me this is not low gain, not even close, with the nature and gain at zero it sounded very fuzz like to me, don't get me wrong a very nice dark fuzz and a sound I've never really gotten before but a Cream Pie it is not. There is no slightly gritty sound to me. It's a great gain sound with no low end loss and only compresses badly with an active with the gain cranked. By far of the 3 od pedals the SFT is my fav with the cream pie (bearing in mind I never owned one with my current amp Matamp GT200) that really falls into dirty boost at best with me haing to use the volume to get gritty sounds over the gain. So if I break it down BBBOD vs CPD. If you were after a low gain tube with slightly gritty sound the CPD is the only way to go. The BBBOD is like buying a fuzz pedal to get this tone. just not going to happen or go get a Dod 250. BBBOD vs SFT. SFT is capable of a bigger low end and a zingier high end with everything in between. Gain similar though they both nail bass distortion tones that make me want to groove and not riff like I'm a guitarist (if that makes sense) BBBOD vs Angler. So different it's not even real, if you like one it's unlikely you'll like the other thou you could have them on the same board to do completely different sounds but they really do cover different ground and have very different characters. What I'll be doing later today is pitting the BBBOD against my fuzz pedals and seeing where it sits, I do like it tonally but it's not low gain enough for my preferences, I have a chance to buy a Dark Driving which I may go for if that's the same character but capable of lower gain sounds. Have to say I was very surprised at how much I liked the Angler, really cool pedal. Will also try doing some clips tonight on my iPad with GarageBand so can't promise anything will sound good.
16.
It always makes me laugh, especially on some of the more fruity US forums when people talk with reverence about the "Matamp Factory" like it's a scared, holy place, bathed in clean white light where tonez are made. I wonder if they could see that it's a run-down shed, up a little lane, behind a Tesco, that's completely disorganised with fag ends everywhere, that reeks of smoke with projects that started between yesterday and 40 years ago littered around if they would have the same reverence? I'm not knocking Matamp's product at all but they are very much a case of the British Inventor's Shed, not Googleplex.
I must strongly disagree with this assessment, it is infact a Morrisons
17.
What are your expectations of the Matamp factory?
A non smoking enviroment?
18. Me too I never thought it would be possible but my GT200 actually killed my amp gas and made me sell 3 of my amps (Would have been more but its not a sellers market at the moment) I still toy with the idea of getting 15-30w amp made to replace my 1957 Dynacord tube amp I use for home practice.
19. Mine should be here before Friday if Parcel Force get their arses in gear.
20. I've seen it as a one off in a pedal with a wopping big power supply, didn't really seem to be very workable.
21.
Materials wise not having a preamp doesn't save much money you still need a phase splitter etc so you'll only be saving on one valve section.
Yep had this discussion with Matamp, they still need to build something in there to feed into the power section so it still has a pre of sorts just not a full one. They said to me it would be easier to just add an input on the back that bypassed the eq and allowed for a slave in as it wouldn't require anymore R&D.
