1.
Does... not... compute... Maybe I'm a weedy little thing (in fact, I know I am), but 30kg ain't an easy lift for me.
Well there is 30kg's with a handle on the top and 30kg's with 2 well placed handles on a cab that doesn't slam your knuckles into door frames But either way they weigh 30kg's if that's heavy shop else where but you will not get a better 2x12 let alone a better one for the money.
2.
+1 matamps construction methods are a bit more bruteforce than your modern half inch ply with cunning bracing. not to knock matamp though they do make great sounding solid cabs. My 215 sounds the absolute dogs dangleys
Agreed to a point, their premise is no compromise on sound, they brace the crap out of them so as little vibrates externally as possible, the next problem is they don't like the sound of a lot of neo's, I have Neo's in my 2x12 and Monz doesn't and there is a HUGE difference in weight and his sounds bigger and bassier but mine is as big and bassy as I need
3. These sound seriously awesome and I swear they weigh half of my 4x10, really punchy sealed cab sound, if you need louder then you are insane and deaf and stupid and DEAFFFFFFFFF
4. I have the lightweight 2x12's and it's an easy 1 person lift Measurements are 30kgs h74cm x w56cm x d37cm This thing is hella loud I did my whole tour with it (6 Weeks) and did rooms up to 300 people with no PA support and my 400+ never went above 5 Monz is currently selling his 2 4x10's because his 2x12 gives him everything he needs and he plans to get a second. Is it as loud as my 8x10, no but the difference is 2x12 amp on 5, 8x10 amp on 3 and I'm really freakin loud as is my band. Never noticed a need for a tweeter it has plenty of highs but if you want one they'll do it, but it will add to the weight and price. Hope this helps
5. Happy to post it, I'm based in Manchester, also happy for it to be collected by a courier.
6. Very tempted to stick this in my Valenti over the Aguilar OBP-1 I have there currently
7. I'll give you a crisp and a tenner for it cheese and onion? or salt an vinegar?
8. As the Tinman said "If I only had a heart" Yeah I'll see how I go, happily donate the next set of strings and stuff that come off one of my basses if they need those sorts of things?
9.
But does it toast bagels!?
It gets pretty freakin hot, it's got 6 tubes inside it including preamps valves, all metal casing, it's a great amp and an average grill
10. Are you getting the AMP or getting rid?
11. This is being worked on as we speak, just getting JJ's in it I think. Basically my spec was get it working and then we'll take it from there but I think it'll be fully functional and great with the cheaper tubes
12. Sorry man hopefully it's getting picked up tomorrow. I'll see how my dynacord goes and I might let a really cool JSH, JHS? one go.
13. Yep and as you will atest you're Alleva's are fairly big so people shouldn't be put off by this not fitting mine as stated my basses are thunderbird/jazz hybrids with 36inch scale necks with 4 in a line headstocks so just huge like a good 5-6inches longer than a standard jazz bass.
14. For everyone who has enquired here is a pic I have included the pedal for scale. Model is A-10B so it might be 10w, don't know if this makes anyone care, free is free and all :S
15. Bump, still looking FYI Mono cases won't fit my basses either so really limited to the Harvest at the moment. Cheers
16.
HAHAHA!!! Tell that to Tony Levin mate
+1
17. I think you'll find that it will never be worth the time and effort involved in selling the Peavey, ie it's more cab than people value it at and you won't get anything near as good for the money you'll free up. That being said I'd expect the Ampeg to be the better cab and worth keeping over the Peavey but if space is not an issue and you aren't struggling for £200 and a few months bumping it up on the forum I'd keep both. They have to sound fun together
18. I'll get one tonight, it's just in a corner in my practice room bit, I'll get it sorted. Cheers
19. Will someone just buy this god dammit
20.
MB1. ...Hello Steve!...It does! For Those Unsure!..The Toaster is on your left of the picture!
Behind the beans My g/f was mortified when I put these pictures online, I was just like pah I'm a musician everyone expects my kitchen to be a mess
21. Ok so it's the guitar version but it works fine on bass, probably some low end loss but wah's always sound to me like they are killing my signal This is better for the vintage rock stuff as the white 105q crybaby is much more of a funk wah, while this is NIB waiting for you to add a fuzz pedal More info here http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?page=pr.../pip&id=269 It's in good to excellent condition, barely used, no box. After £45ono will save a lot of money if you collect. Cheers
22.
MB1. Sounds interesting! ...Blimey!...Youve met a Guitarist that isnt Loud and Self centred? ..Have heard theres a Full English Breakfast available in the intermission at Taystes Gigs!...Toaster amps?..sounds like the Superfly! (mine works better than a barbecue)
See toaster, I even put it in the kitchen
23.
spending all that cash on a 30watt valve amp. its not really giggable and seems a tad expensive for bedroom use.......not my cuppa T
You'd be surprised I have a 17w amp from the 50's and it sounds massive I've played it through my Matamp 4x10 and I could easily gig with it in a pub/covers setting, would be even funnier with my 8x10 since it's the size and shape of a toaster.
