1.
Steve, that is amazing. You spawny bassturd.
In a few weeks you should come down and try it through a Matamp GT200 with 8x10
2.
*whimper* me want, muchly muchly. I'd whack a D-tuner on it and leave everything else as is. Beautiful.
Agreed I may but also going to get it rewired as 3 volume control isn't all that useful to me, what I'll probably have Overwater do is remove what is there and keep it as the original electronics and then add in either a 2 band preamp but most likely Master Volume, Blend, Pup1 Tone (Push Pull Series Parallel), Pup2 Tone (Push Pull Series Parallel) It sounds great passive its just fairly limited in it's current setup. Plays beautifully, the neck is an odd shape definately not a J or P but it's so comfy, very very nice to play I'll get it restrung and setup this weekend and have some fun with it.
3. OMG OMG OMG It's here it's here and it's more beautiful than you can imagine
4. Afraid not, I rarely change them, for obvious reasons Sorry
5. I have a guitarist friend who would love this but he won't come anywhere near it as he knows he'd have to buy it
6. Yeah I was looking at this once I'd typed it thinking surely for the cost of that hardware I can get a fairly decent Macbook and have a new computer my self that I just take out live as well.
7. So taken from my kindness for giving full sets of used strings away for £1.50 or so I've been contacted so many times and in such a manor that it's become effort to do this and people are expressing their dismay at not being able to get things. So I'm going to have this thread run. For example I said to a guy in a week I'll have a 5 string set you can have it for £1.50 bare in mind these are £20+ worth of strings that have been used for 4 weeks tops and in that time I broke the A string so I let him know and he wasn't exactly receptive as if I'd let him down on what I was giving away, so these now have a charge to them and I won't list anything till I have it off a bass. Basically £1 per string will reduce if you want lots and this is what I have at the moment Overwater Strings 36inch Scale 134 x 2 64 x 2 44 x 2 35inch scale None available at this time Fender 34 inch scale 105 x 1 85 x 1 65 x 1 45 x 1 i only mention lengths because of what they are cut for so don't buy 34's if you have a 35 but 35 or 36 will be fine for anything shorter. This list will change as I add and remove strings which I'm doing fairly regularly at the moment Cheers
8. This could be here any minute.......................... or tomorrow
9. Got a new bass coming so may take this assuming the case is long and wide enough and I'll just recut the foam I'll give you a shout in a couple of days so we can meet up. Cheers
10.
Every day, I look at this site, and every day, no one has bought this bass, and every day, it pains me, because I want it, but I can't really afford it, and I can't really justify it. I've got enough basses, and I'm not even playing in a band right now, and I can't really afford it. But still, it taunts me with its loveliness.
Got anything to do as a partial trade?
11. So to update you guys I couldn't get all this working in time my main issue is pc stability but luckily all the venues on the tour were a bit small so this lighting would have been OTT and just more weight for us to carry around. So what I've been thinking is a totally hardware solution so again wondering if this is possible or if there is any point to it either. Midi Sequencer Drum Module to produce clicks and possibly 808's Sampler So the plan would be load the tracks into the midi sequencer as say 5 tracks of midi commands Track 1 - Drum machine to produce the click noise which would allow us to change the click sound over time to stop the drummer going insane Track 2 - Alesis FX to trigger specific fx changes in the songs Track 3 - Trigger dmx programming in the dmx board that will be in the rack using the midi connection Track 4 - To trigger 808 sounds at specific moments in the track. Track 5 - Triggers the playing of samples between our tracks to fill the gaps I sort of feel that this is more to go wrong but as long as the core midi sequencer is bomb proof then if modules fail individually then it's not the end of the world it's only part of the show whereas all of it on a computer is if 1 thing goes down it all goes down. Opinions, options etc
12. Come on try me, worst I can say is no and then insult your mother
13. Hmmmm at this point not sure it may be the more bassy voicing, they are quick mods that can be done when I collect it so I'll wait and see. I've had a lot of involvement with Matamp so they know what I'm after. I am so excited right now between this and my new bass
14.
Keith, from the knob closest the pickguard: Vol / Vol / Vintage Tone Control / Treble / Bass I could bring it over one night this week if you'd like a play? It's a really nice bass.
You know that's going to end badly for him you drug pusher you
15. I bought it recently off a friend who has had it 10 years and used it about 5 times, and I've never used it either, I was going to use it for silently recording some of my tube amps but I just don't think that opportunity will arise often and I have my new Matamp to pay for. It's never been gigged, can be used at 8 or 16 ohms, two speaker outputs. Goes down to 100% soak - ie dead silent so can be used as a dummy load if you wish to run your head as a big tube preamp. The only 'issue' is that the rear l/h lower corner is dented but it doesn't affect performance, to be honest it's hardly noticable. This is excellent for those guitarists who wish to practice at home with that cranked gig sound without blowing their windows out or those recording guitarist that again want that cranked amp sound without it being too loud to record. It's built like a tank and will happily take years of abuse being on the road Further info here: http://www.marshallamps.com/downloads/files/PB100%20hbk.pdf http://www.amptone.com/marshallpowerbrake.htm I'm after what I paid which is £120 shipped, and trust me this thing is heavy. This item is also on ebay for more but happy to remove it for a BC'er SOLD on Ebay
16. Bought this a few weeks back, never used it and now I have my Matamp coming I don't think I ever will so after the same as what I paid for it £125ono It's absolutely mint condition with box and manual http://www.voodoolab.com/ampselector.htm I also have this item on ebay for more than this but happy to end the auction early Cheers
17. You seen my new bass? http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=88298

19.
Clip 3 has the fuller, rounder tone,to me.My favourite of the 3 clips, maybe thats the bass you like the most ? You would really ned to elaborate on "vintage"
Motowny Beatles esq maybe
20. I've played this bass and it really is stunning, 100% vintage vibe from this mofo.
21.
Good god I don't even understand half of those specs! I can only just about handle gain, bass, mid and treble knobs That said, I'm sure it's going to absolutely annihilate anything it comes near
Pffft there are like 600 controls on the 400+ yours even has an extra graphic eq slider than mine
22.
I did a wiring repair on one of these once. It was green. Not my cup of tea visually, but it had a really nice neck on it and it felt good to play. One of the knobs had a push/pull which looked/sounded like it did some kind of parallel/series switching?
Cool I'll be calling Overwater at lunch time to find out about it, I may just get some passive options on it like a Gibson Varitone or something I don't know tbh it probably sounds perfect as is
