1. Sold me a GEB-7, unauthodox but very effective packaging! Great deal and very efficient, thanks again!
2. Purchashed some brand new fender roundwounds from John. Great deal, great efficiecy, spotless really. Cheers man!
3. Also, this is only down the road from me! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SEI-5-string-jazz-bass-NO-RESERVE-/130682102652?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item1e6d42a37c#ht_543wt_1270
4. Well, it seems to change with the wind, its almost schizophrenic! But I think I have settled on a Barefaced Cab, which one I just don't know. Also an American Fender precision 62 reissue in sunburst. I also had an attack over an Ashdown evo iii, but that has subsided thank God! Being a student, funds are very low, so anything I want has to be funded by a sale, and I hate selling stuff!
5. Please help me. I am in my final year of university only a month left, its the eleventh hour and I am suffering from a chronic GAS attack, if i'm not cured soon the consequences could be disastrous!....
6. Thankyou for your interest, due to a change of circumstance i'm going to hang on to this for now!
7. Guitarist, after a year of playing a song we wrote - "Is that your bassline? I never listened to it before, wow its actually quite good" Well at least he liked it
8.
Ashdown blue would clash terribly with an Orange cab anyway. Just ask Gok Wan. You should buy my AD200B instead!
Haha yes it would, not to mention my green and pink flares I wear on stage . Trust me, if I thought there was any way I could afford that, i'd have it off you in a heartbeat!
9. Thanks for the help all, ive stuck with rounds, just put a new set on and they sound lovely. I also gave the fret board a clean and alot of what looks like 'denting' can infact just be polished off . A tiny amount of damage over a long time is worth the sound imo!
10. Hello There is an old thread dedicated to just this, but it hasn't been touched in over a year! I currently own an OTB and I think its great, but i'm teetering on the edge of changing it for an Ashdown AMB500 evo 3. Mainly because I like the idea of the extra flexibility with the sub harmonics and foot switch, i'll still use it with my Orange 410. I have a few worries before I make the swap so any advice would be great! Firstly, I used an Ashdown combo a 2 or 3 years ago at a gig and it blew up! Luckily not my fault, but I didn't feel like it was getting driven too hard. Is there a reliablilty issue? Second, is there a volume issue? I doubt this would be a problem, but i've heard a bit about it. Lastly, is there any point? Are they similar enough that i'm just changing for the sake of it? If you've played both, which do you prefer?
11. Almost forgot, you can email Orange! I have done in the past and they are very helpful!
12. From my understanding it wont be a problem as long as you don't crank the TB too much, if you drive the cab too hard it may do some damage, but I wouldn't worry as i've personally never even been able to turn my TB past about 3 on the volume without being told to turn down! So it's unlikely that you'll ever encounter a problem. I use my TB with an Orange 410, i've tried both and I thought the 410 sounded much better, if you can afford the extra money I would go with that instead, but it helps if you have an eq pedal or an active bass to add a bit of extra low end. Don't take my word as gospel about the wattage, see if others agree as i'd hate to give damaging advice! Good luck!
13. Hi Does this come with/is it compatible with the 4 way footswitch?
14. I have one of these in sunburst, its a cracking bass, i'm surprised its not attracting more interest! BUMP!
15.
Thats a shame, still interested, and so close to you
I'll keep you posted, It's on hold 1) becuase I have someone waiting and 2) because the amp I was hoping to get instead is on hold! Thanks for the interest.
16.
Ok fair enough, not how I had heard it, so I will double-check my source. Sorry
Thats alright mate, I think I know who your talking about, as I put above, it is on hold! I'm not a great fan of ebay and would just like it to end up at a loving home
17.
hi is this still for sale?
It's on hold for the moment, I have another offer pending
18.
Where abouts are you dude I'm Interested
PM'd
19.
All buyers be aware that this guy sounds like he is trying to entice a bidding war, as my friend tried to buy this earlier in the week but he wanted to "wait for more people to see the interest" If so, go bugger off to eBay...
I can ensure you that is not what I am trying to do, I stated a price (£360) and I was offered less than I asked for by one member. I was also hoping to secure another head from a basschat member which has now been put on hold. Also, by saying that i'm open to offers I was simply trying to be flexible and open the door too any trades, and not start a bidding war!
20. Hi I'm actually selling one of these in the "for sale" section. I've gigged with mine plenty and I have got a brilliant clean tone out of it, nice and fat with a lot of bottom, i rarely put the gain above 1 and still got plenty of power out of it! If you have an active bass that will give you a lot of extra control. However, it is a rock amp, it does what it does extremely well, but don't buy one if you want a lot of versatility.
21. Bump for the weekend
22. Thanks for the advice! Unfortuantly the fretboard doesn't seem too hard wearing (its not even wood) so I will try to lighten by touch! it is a very different beast compared to my Fender P deluxe! In regard to the halfwounds, I had considered them, but do you get the same amount of 'mwah' as rounds?
23. Hello I am very new to the world of fretless bass, I brought myself a Squier VMJ which for the money is a really lovely bass. It came with flats but I put them on my fretted P-bass because I love the tone flats give it. With no spare strings lying around I put the roundwounds on the fretless and found that it sounded much much better with them. However, i've noticed that they are leaving tiny marks on the fretboard, so far its made absolutely no difference to the playability, but if I leave them on too long will it cause a problem? or is this just normal? Any advice would be great! Thanks
