  1. Fender Rumble 100 combo for £200 in Southend here: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1315232262824342/
  2. Either of these would be my pick, some great deals around and that Eden cab is crazy cheap.
  3. Would have grabbed that just for the head and sold the rest on if it was near me.
  4. Definitely go Warmoth if possible.
  5. A few years ago I took Mrs Lemmywinks to see Maroon 5, the bass was some form of low rumble that couldn't be heard. The fella looked like he was playing decently enough but I have no idea if he was playing the parts. Came away from it feeling like I should audition for some touring acts, seema like the ultimate blag gig.
  6. There was mint condition one of those in my local Money Traders for £550 a few months ago, beautiful bass.
  7. If the Elf combo was loud enough you could just get the Elf 110 cab and use it with a different head.
  8. Go and try a few to find out how particular you are about string spacing at the bridge and neck profile. £500 buys you a lot of bass these days, especially on the used market.
  9. Eddie has already seen his recent activity, check the comments here with some more bu115h1ttery from Jon. Meanwhile the going rate for a Letts bass as of August this year, ouch:
  10. You'll need a new nut, the saddle slot filling and a new saddle fitted in the correct position. This is all regular work for a luthier as a lot of vintage (and some not so old) acoustics will need new nuts and saddles at some point anyway If the guitar is worth it then by all means get the modification done as long as the guitar doesn't need anything else doing to it, get a quote from a good luthier and see if it's viable it to you. A lot of the time the cost of work on acoustics makes initial bargains much less appealing. What's the guitar, is it new?
  11. I'm the bestest, most smartest poster on here and I never mention it. If you've ever had an injury or physical issues then shaving weight off the headstock is the best thing you can do outside of buying a lightweight headless, certainly better than stopping gigging. Annoyingly I injured my back recently and am glad I have the choice of an 8lb bass with Ultralites or a 7lb headless to gig with tomorrow night.
  12. At rehearsals I used to put it through a pair of supplied 2x12 TC BH cabs, was plenty loud enough even if I didn't like the sound of the cabs all that much. I also tried it through a pair of Ashdown 4x10 cabs at a different rehearsal space and it was hellishly loud (despite the tiny amp on an 8x10 setup looking ridiculous) so I don't think anybody should have issues with it. That PJB cab is just a bit thirsty I think, goes low and loud in a small package but needs more power to get the best out of it.
  13. The BH250 shsould be plenty loud enough for most people I think unless they have a power hungry cab, I use mine with a single 8ohm Basslite equipped 1x10 and it's capable of playing along with a drummer if they aren't too crazy. The only time I found it lacking is with my PJB C8 Lite which likes a lot of watts thrown at it (and sounds better that way), the BH250 was still loud but seemed like it was running out of steam so I did the logical thing and bought a BH800 as well. I think with another matching 1x10 the smaller head would have been fine.
  14. G4M now have these discounted as well: Bam200 - £119: https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/TC-Electronic-BAM-200-Ultra-Compact-200W-Bass-Head/2UHU BH250 - £179: https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/TC-Electronic-BH250-Bass-Amp-Head/L1W They also have the BQ500 and BQ250 but at a higher price than Andertons.
  15. Is that the broader neck version?
  16. If you need a bag for it the Gator 0909 fits perfectly btw: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/gator-9″-x-9″-mini-amplifier-bag/
  17. Great little heads really, still tiny without sacrificing features. I left the Spectracomp on mine after doing the obligatory tour of Toneprints, nice bit of icing on an already tasty cake. Not sure where the HPF is at but it definitely seems higher than on the more powerful versions. It's worth watching the Uriah Duffy video (or just reading the manual) regarding the eq points btw as they cut and boost at different frequencies. Bass cuts/boosts at 80hz/100hz, mid at 500hz/800hz and treble at 1.5khz/5khz. https://mediadl.musictribe.com/download/software/tcelectronic/tc_electronic_bh250_bg250-208_manual_english.pdf
  18. You can still buy the Presys+, manual here: https://www.fishman.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Presys-Plus-User-Guide.pdf There are a lot of clones around, think yours looks like a legit older model though but could be wrong.
  19. The LED turns red to indicate clipping on these I think, the manual has always been a bit misleading and they never changed it.
  20. Christ I still have nightmares about my first amp, wouldn't have it back for free!
  21. When I had my 1212r many moons ago I played with a deafeningly loud drummer, it just handled every gig without breaking a sweat.
  22. Just an AliExpress bass that, for some reason they come like that from the factory: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005492095739.html They'll do a normal finish as well: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005226121076.html
  23. Yeah that's a great price.
  24. It should have been designed with a Speakon from the beginning IMO, all bass amps should. The panel mount Speakons don't take up that much room, just different dimensions really and it looks like there's free space in both amps, particularly the BAM. It's just penny pinching IMO, hopefully they do a board revision and sort it out.
  25. Yeah that's why I said it's a cost saving measure, although TC are owned by Behringer so I assume it's not saving as much as we think. For me it's a convenience issue, it's small head like that might come in handy for home use or rehearsals. Having to carry a dongle around with me or buy a different cable would mean it's much less convenient that it might seem. When I used my BH250 for rehearsals I modded it by swapping the Speakon out for a Speakon combo purely so I could take a single Speakon-Jack cable to practice and use whatever cabs were provided, that's how much I hate dongles!
