  1. May be basing it on the B5 I bought new for £220 a couple of years ago, just had a quick look and they're around twice that now.
  2. Price a little on the high side for me and the lined board is a dealbreaker but this looks like a great bass and obviously will play and sound like one being a Cort. I see they're slapping a Fishman badge on those generic piezo bridges too (which sound great btw), Cort do love their licenses! Doesn't say what preamp is in there though, I take it it's just a buffer and the Bart MKI is used passively? Should sound very nice if so, hopefully they do a 5er.
  3. Had to look that up, probably shouldn't have done it on my work laptop!
  4. That looks great, in natural finishes the Mockingbird and the Eagle suit any genre IMO.
  5. Surely the way to do a twin neck Thumb is to have one lefty and one righty, Michael Angelo style?
  6. It's great they're doing a model more in line with Squier pricing, IIRC the V7 was originally around this price at launch wasn't it?
  7. If it's just the middle part you need (the yellow and black part with velcro) then a standard velcro comfort sleeve would do provided you got one wide enough, if you need the rest you might struggle as I don't think you can buy them. If it's an expensive bag I would just email the company who made it.

  9. Those V3 basses are pretty much the same spec as their more expensive brothers aren't they? £297 for the mahogany 5er looks like a great deal too: https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/electric-bass-guitars/sire-marcus-miller-v3-5-string-bass-guitar-natural-mahogany
  10. Crikey that's bad! At first it was the state of those pickup surrounds that was the most shocking but then I saw what was underneath them: What a waste of a nice pair of Barts.
  11. Glance admiringly at your gear, hands on hips with a proud look on your face and say: "Yes it is isn't it dear? Thanks for noticing, I've spent a lot of time and effort assembling it." It's good she's taking an interest in your hobbies, that's the foundations of a strong relationship.
  12. No worries, these feel like great strings, I'm a little gutted they don't fit as I really fancied a play on them!
  13. These are a little short for my daughter's bass so are up for grabs, length of the E from the ball end to the windings is about 31" and are a little short on a 30" scale bass. I think @Osiris is next according to Trevor, then I guess @Matt P and then @CameronJ going by this thread?
  14. I think the neck (as well as the bridge and other hardware) are from an old Tanglewood Rebel 4k, the E & A string tuners are positioned lower than the D & G tuners, it's the opposite on the Bass Collections AFAIK. Pic pinched off the web: The bridge matches too, a BBOT style but with a bulkier anchor point at the back.
  15. .....but you just can't kick the crack addiction: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-Hand-Made-Bass-Guitar/183248708536?_trkparms=aid%3D888007%26algo%3DDISC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D50545%26meid%3D608525996034497d904005f2a97b9928%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D392054107837%26itm%3D183248708536&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982 Tbh anything with "custom" or "handmade" in the title makes me expect something like this, it's not even fun anymore.
  16. Is this a commercial sale or a private trade though? As far as I can tell he played the guitar at the guy's house and was happy so swapped his guitar for it. Although the friend of the OP may be gutted it's probably him who'll be learning the lesson I'm afraid.
  17. A whopping 5p cheaper here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Blake-Bravo-Bass-Guitar-Case-Brand-New/302703106416?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20160908110712%26meid%3Df46408850aeb4f2b988c124278906ef5%26pid%3D100677%26rk%3D9%26rkt%3D20%26sd%3D292579991634%26itm%3D302703106416&_trksid=p2385738.c100677.m4598 Has offers available too so a sneaky £40 might be worth a shot.
  18. If you're stuck for ideas you could wire a kill switch, that way you can leave the bass plugged in between sets without draining the battery.
  19. Not the cheapest option but a piezo bridge is probably top of the list, can blend it with your normal pickups but you'll need a buffer preamp too. Could be quite costly if you need to replace the original electronics at the same time!
  20. I'd like these if still available, would they fit a 30" scale P bass?
  21. Last time I bought those two items I just looked on eBay, need to check the pickup screws are long enough in the description, think I got 10 for a quid. I've probably got some spare neck ferrules knocking about, how many and what colour do you need?
  22. True, but no sane person would actually want to cover up such a lovely piece of walnut with a bit of plastic so i guess it's not an issue!
  23. Wouldn't really bother me tbh, let them do the gig as they see fit and don't take it personally. As for the catty comments regarding sabotaging/renting/withholding the PA - I wouldn't expect to stay in bands very long following that advice. Wish them well and enjoy your holiday, I'm pretty sure everything will be fine when you get back.
