  1. Rowland Custom Shop that is, however Mr Rowland has slapped the Fender CS logo on this old beater and called it a custom built road worn bass: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266579356696 Check out the neck pocket, always handy to have somewhere within easy reach to store your mid-gig custard creams:
  2. I'm a worryingly short distance down the coast in Cleveleys, just have rogue mobility scooters and the resident seagull gangs to deal with here.
  3. Well it's quite near Merseyside, if you own a boat or can swim with your bass strapped to your back it might be doable. But yeah, although folk from Lytham don't like the fact it is just down the road from Blackpool.
  4. Yeah that's the one, hard to come by apparently. Little hook spanner to adjust the tuner friction. I had to gently adjust mine with small pliers and an elastic band for cushioning/grip but one of these would have been handy!
  5. Pretty sure I have an extremely similar one tucked away at home, will have a root tomorrow and see how good my memory is.
  6. Had a dep gig in a tiny ale house in Chorley, was going through an amp for a change which I've not done in years, enjoyed it even though I made a couple of mistakes (they play every song in a wildly different key from the original) and the TC BH800 and PJB C8L sounded great on stage. Was thinking about swapping out the preamp in my Cort GB Modern 5 but after tonight I'll leave it in and tweak my Fishman DI a bit more for IEM gigs.
  7. Try this with a regular set, prob best with a cheap/used set first just so you don't ruin an expensive pack!
  8. Guyker also do some open frame tuners for around £30 per set, basically Ultralite copies on the cheap. Would be interesting to see how they work on a budget bass: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004645339944.html According to the comments they're 67g including the bushing.
  9. When I first saw it I said to myself "yea, I'm not watching a 4hr YT video" and I usually watch everything hbomberguy does. I've seen it twice now, albeit on in the background while I'm sat at my computer at work.
  10. Same story with all content theives, if you have some time to spare then this is well worth a watch. Exactly the same attitude of deleting comments, making excuses and covering tracks instead of owning up to stealing from creators.
  11. Recently I've had an Evri parcel delivered to an incorrect address (was meant to be my workplace) and another left next to the gate post right next to the street at my home. Our blue bin was about 2m away on the drive which they could have hid a parcel behind, instead they left it in full view of anybody passing by. Wouldn't have even needed to step onto the property to nick it, thankfully it was safe.
  12. I have a TC BH250 with an EA CXL cab for this sort of thing, a mini rig is really useful but the Double Four looks ideal really. The Double Four Plus (BG-80) has USB Type C power btw, might want to hunt around for that model over the BG-75.
  13. Busy playing his shiny new Letts bass no doubt.
  14. I sincerely hope they were called "Nott the Hoople", otherwise what's the point?
  15. If it's the Streamer Standard Bolt On (with the one piece bridge and less contoured body) then it's the precursor to the Rockbass range, will presumably have the same spec pickup as the original Rockbass Streamers. The AE pickup might not be a fake as Rockbass stuff does show up on there from time to time including whole basses, most likely "unofficial" factory runs or QC failures. I had that pickup in my German SSBO (single pickup version), didn't like it much and always thought it sounded a bit wet behind the ears, the opposite of what you want from a Warwick really.
  16. What's the point of building a bass at any price point if you're gonna put that in the neck?
  17. A cheaper option would be one of the cloned Sire preamps off AliExpress for about £24. I'd stick an East in it though if you have the room. A passive tone control is useful in active mode as well, gives you a lot more, err, control over the treble as you can boost a wider range then roll off the spiky bits from the 80s.
  18. Surely it's the seller leaving himself open to a scam by requesting Paypal and collection only?
  19. I've done the odd local charity gig, for free, depped for a mate's band at a barely worthwhile fee, short spots at a mate's wedding for free (when I've been a guest) etc, apart from that always make sure you get paid. We've all been told enough about this wondrous newfangled currency called "exposure" enough to know where it leads to when you don't.
  20. My parents were both long term smokers, lived in the same house for 40+ yrs (my mum is still there). Everything has this coating - the glass on their painting/picture frames, TV screens, the wallpaper etc. I took down some of their paintings when we decorated and you could see how yellow/orange the rest of the walls were in comparison to what was behind them. I got rid of their old CRT TV when they finally got a new one and the screen was orange, to the point you'd think there was something wrong with it as everything looked like an old Western movie with that filter! You only notice how bad it is when you start trying to clean items. Disgusting habit that gives you cancer, makes you stink like a vagrant, empties your wallet and covers your prized possessions in horrible orange gloop. My mum has finally stopped smoking now, within a couple of weeks we noticed we didn't have to change our clothes after we'd been round.
  21. Just spotted this, seems like a bargain: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1ABjPjuXWM/
  22. Would rather have a premium gigbag than a hard case. Gonna wait until these appear on the used market for <£1k and have a think.
  23. Crazy bit of kit isn't it? I've been living at my mum's recently as she's just had a hip replacement, I also had 30 songs to learn for a dep gig a foolishly agreed to do. Just stuck the Pocket Master case (has earbuds and a USB cable) in my bass gigbag and have a full, silent practice rig ready to go in a few seconds that doesn't involve aux or power cables. Just plug the bass/earbuds in and get going.
  24. Here's the frequency centres for the Mki: The bass control actually mimics a USA Bart preamp (ie too low centre point and not enough around 100hz/120hz for me) but I don't think they sound that similar in person, the mids are voiced quite differently. On the Markbass MB-1 the lows are centred a bit higher and it sounds better IMO, check out Handsome Dan's review of the Cort C5 here to see how the MkI pups sound with it:
