Boden Copy, with many detailed upgrades *pricedrop* - *SOLD*

Your best bet might be to just wait it out for a used driver of your choice to show up on eBay, I scored the Basslite in my little 1x10 for £24 by doing this and breathed a massive sigh of relief when I won it! Sucks that you put so much effort in to make a nice cab on the cheap only to be stuck with either using a rubbish replacment driver or spending more than the cab is worth on a decent one.

I mentioned previously that the lad I know took an empty bottle to pee in after his first day. Not mad keen on the idea of parcels being handled right after some guy has precariously peed in a bottle with no real hand washing facilities tbh.

We see the same with basses and guitars where brands can effectively kill off small stores by demanding high levels of stock purchase they can't possibly shift. Many years ago I tried to buy a Squier Jazz and went out of my way to accomodate my local music shop, really nice guy who I always gave my business to. He couldn't get them in and the only equivalent he could get was Vintage or Crafter from his JHS account.

Sonicake B Factory preamp/DI for £36 delivered via Sonicake eBay store
lemmywinks replied to lemmywinks's topic in Effects
I've sent a message, it's shown as delivered with a completely useless picture as "proof". We're on a block of two buildings and the GPS co-ordinates show the right location, I've checked with next door (a woman I've known for 38 years and her brother plays keys with us!) and it isn't there. Fortunately I've checked our cameras and the only time someone entered the property on Saturday was Royal Mail delivering small packages through the letterbox, I sent these screenshots to the Sonicake store. Our old Evri guy was reliable but the new guy is 0 for 2 on deliveries, the first one went to a different street and the neighbour brought it round (checked with that guy earlier and no joy, funnily enough he's a postman) and this just completely missing with a well framed delivery picture that gives nothing away. -
Sonicake B Factory preamp/DI for £36 delivered via Sonicake eBay store
lemmywinks replied to lemmywinks's topic in Effects
Well looks like I won't be getting this, apparently Evri delivered it to my work address (closed all weekend) on Saturday and no sign of it at all. Photo shows the parcel caeefully framed with absolutely nothing in the background, mainly the address label. So money down the drain thanks to the theiving scum that is our new Evri driver. -
Asking why people wouldn't buy from Amazon is a question entrenched in politics and ethics. Btw a lad who used to work for us started driving for them, the stories about drivers not having time to eat and use the bathroom are true, as are the ones about them using an empty soft drink bottle to pee in. This lad would skip breakfast and lunch as he had no time to stop for a toilet break later in the day. He does patient transport for a private hospital now so at least the delivery experience was of some use to him.

There are plenty of reasons not to buy from Amazon, speaking to the CEO is not high on the list. There's two things I only ever buy from specialised online stores due to the high risk of fakes - Micro SD cards and bass strings.

Was that the cheap one off eBay, if so did it all work out ok in the end? Sweet cab for not much money.

Sonicake B Factory preamp/DI for £36 delivered via Sonicake eBay store
lemmywinks replied to lemmywinks's topic in Effects
Have no idea, whenever I get the discount codes through I check for bass stuff and post it here. I grabbed one to retire my Behringer BD121 as my backup DI as this apparently has very nice compression (possibly optical), sounds great and is the same as the Hotone B Station according to a TB thread. Gut shots here (from the same thread): Can't think of a half decent preamp DI with decent compression for that sort of money, plus I also like bargains! -
It's a bit wider than most micro heads (14"/355mm) so you'd need the Gator 1515 or the RokSak RSM 4040, both are about £35.
-
Phil Jones also do some narrow amps: BP-800 is 7.5" wide (albeit really long so may overhang at the back) D-400 is 9.6" BP-200 is 6.9"
-
TC BH250 is 9.6", the BQ250 and BQ500 are both listed as 10". Was looking at the HB Block 800B recently, looks like a crazy amount of amp for the money. Remember the colour has to match as well otherwise the width is irrelevant and you'll need to buy yet another amp.
-
Went with a TC BH800 in the end, picked one up off here for a very good price. Sounds fantastic and is frighteningly loud, can be heard over an enthusiastic drummer at 9 o'clock and just keeps going past that with big clean lows. Obligatory awful lighting practice room shot, possibly a bit overkill for a rehearsal rig but it's easy to carry and was sub £600 for the lot. It's a knee high beast of a setup!

We ditched the backdrops for a pop up thingy either side of the stage, contact details and web links are clearly visible to punters and they're no faff as well as being lightweight. Can put them up or pack them down in a few seconds. Ultimately we binned those off as we just didn't think any sort of banner looked great for weddings etc and they take up valuable space in bars, a lot of the time band photos in a well decorated venue look much better without an intrusive banner, even with my mug in them. YMMV of course.

Cheap Markbass CMD 121P combo. Bargain for somebody.
lemmywinks replied to gjones's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
One went for £310 last month, later model with the LMIV combo head: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266840471683 Always the risk you run with collection only auctions and relying on someone being after one at that precise moment within a reasonable distance. Personally if I wasn't willing to post then I'd do a BiN and just leave it up there. -

Inexpensive 5 string bass with stainless steel frets?
lemmywinks replied to tretim's topic in Bass Guitars
If you're able to collect and can dig up an extra bit of cash this is a good deal: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335453331506 Same pre and hardware as the EHB1005 but with a nice top and Nordstrand Big Splits. -
5 String Bass Similar Quality to Squire Vintage Mod?
lemmywinks replied to DocTrucker's topic in Bass Guitars
Squier did a Deluxe Active V a while ago, they turn up on eBay and usually sell for around £200-£250: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266788464335 Very nice basses, not your standard Fender radius either as the ebanol board is wide and flat and the neck quite shallow which is an improvement IMO. There's also a very similar Aria version with a rosewood board which is also excellent. Cort GB series are well worth a look as well, one for sale here: I'd be upping my budget and grabbing one of the Cort GB Modern basses currently on sale at Guitar Guitar! -
