Wireless system - Lekato, Boss or something else?
lemmywinks replied to ots's topic in General Discussion
This one looks well priced, actually cheaper than the Lekato dongle I just bought. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000832394544.html -

I think that's more than what we need tbh, did find this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005059970845.html? Which seems to be the same as the Stagg and other cheap brands at a fraction of the price, still no internal battery though. -

Ya I've been gigging for a few decades now, I know how XLR cables work! A long cable run is still a long cable run regardless of how many cables are involved, 40m made up of multiple leads still means you're coiling 40m of cables at the end of the day. Was hoping there would be a cheap wireless solution so will give the incoming Lekato a try. I's just a simple pair of LED bars on stands with their own pedal controller, rarely with an extra bar at the back of the stage. Basically just after a simple plug and play wireless alternative to the longest XLR we run. Did look at the Stagg ones a while ago but they don't have a built in battery and require external power which is more faff. -

If I wanted to increase our cable pack down times I wouldn't be looking for a wireless solution though! We've been looking to continually streamline our set up and pack down times, if we can spend a bit of money for an ongoing convenience that makes life a bit easier at every gig then we'll do it. We're all on IEMs with no backline or wedges, we ditched our stage snakes because they weren't really worth the hassle. Last gig we came off stage at midnight, all the gear was loaded into vehicles by 00:40 and I was home just after 1am which is how we like it! -
I had the Roqsolid with yellow trim as well, the old Club series cabs also had yellow accents and stitching on the tolex. Looked really good tbh, smart looking cabs.

This is a really good point, I could just test them with the incoming MW-1! I'll do that next time we use our lights and report back, we don't take them to a lot of gigs as a lot of venues round here have their own. I did look at the dedicated pack, it's 2.4ghz though ! think which I want to stay away from and also I'd rather have the failsafe of being able to directly swap the wireless solution out for an XLR cable if I get issues without changing anything else. -

Yeah here's the problem - I don't wanna pack away long cables! -

This seller has the Lekato MW-1 for £63 delivered, ordered one to see if it's viable for my IEMs. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403106000321 Might be a stupid question but would these work with stage lighting or do we need something more specialised? Our master/slave link cable between out lights is usually our longest cable run, also the most annoying and unsightly as it runs across the front of the stage so needs to be kept out of sight and awaw from drunk punters. -
Unrealistic heavy ageing - did not expect this from Nash

Takes me back to when my daughter was a baby and I had to change her nappies. -
Good for metal?

Gigged a LMII with a TRV151 and later a pair of Club 121 cabs for years, the Club cabs were especially good. No complaints here, embrace the yellow.

Might not even be workable if you don't have enough spare height on your bridge saddles and pickups which would have to be adjusted every time, probably more effore to fit than just swapping necks. Plus it negates the excuse to buy a completely new bass which is against forum rules.

The design aesthetic reminds me when we first did graphic design at high school (Corel Draw back then), some kids had never had the freedom of so many fonts, colours and clipart before so just used all of them together out of sheer excitement.

@ardi100 you might find one of the little laptop stands (Ikea Brada etc) useful if you have a micro/lightweight head and want to use that Eden as a wedge monitor.

Advice on Ceramic transducer pickups needed
lemmywinks replied to Jimothey's topic in Repairs and Technical
I used an analogworkshop piezo preamp in one of my piezo equipped basses, it's just 40mm x 26mm x 10mm so should fit in anything. -
I think (not 100% and can't see from the photos) that it's the version of the D210 that has the tilt back function which is a fair few kg lighter than the older model. Looks like "D210MBX" to my old eyes. Proper cab for budget money (as long as it's fully working obvs!) and not crazy heavy either.

There's an old Eden 2x10 I was watching on eBay for £150, seller sent an offer for £139. Even with postage it's a good deal.

TBF most of the rehearsal room cabs I use these days have at least half the drivers blown so it should be ok

Frequently see 6x10 and 8x10 cabs going for low money, hard things to sell really with demand being next to zero.

There'll be none left from that seller now, Peter's bought 'em all!
