What's the rear panel like on the cab? If you didn't want to compromise the resale value you could make up a different rear panel with 2 Speakons, keeping the other one in case you need to rewire and sell it. That's what i'd do, cheapskate that i am! That's the problem with Superflys, by the time you get full power out of the amp it's no longer a light and compact rig! I use mine with a little 4ohm 1x10 cab (soon to be joined by another) and it's loud enough. I hated the amp when i first got it but i'm actually liking it now, has been ultra-reliable since i took the outer casing off Other options would be to look at a sensitive 4ohm cab, there's a Schroeder 1212l for £300 in the FS section, that'll do the trick. You could always look at the LG1000, they can be had for £219 from soundslive. You'll probably get £100 to £120 for the Superfly

If you only have one 8ohm speaker then you'll be getting 160w. Each output can give a maximum of 250w @ 4ohms and 160w @ 8ohms. Although they are a bit underpowered i think adding another cab would be the best option. Some people drive the preamp section as it's known to be a bit weak

I was given this a while ago with some laptop spares i bought. AFAIK it's working (it came off a knackered motherboard), i have no PC to test it with as i only deal with and use laptops It's an Nvidia FX5500 by Inno3D, it is 8x (although i think also 4x compatible) and has 256mb RAM. It has the following written on the sticker: Inno3D FX5500-8X W/256mb CRT DVI PC AGP Might be useful for someone with a slightly older system looking to play a few games or something Free to good home!

Black all the way! They come up for around £220 - £270 2nd hand too

+1 to all the above. I've been guilty of more than my fair share of howlers, some on quite high profile gigs. One of my worst gigs was at a private party for the Nolan sisters, i was mixing it big with such luminaries as Alvin Stardust and the fat one from Blue Dropped about 4 absolute clangers, the rest of the band noticed and as there were quite a few musicians in the audience they noticed too, felt like a right tw@t. Maybe a quick call to the bandleader with a quiet apology would show them you're being professional and can admit when you've made mistakes? It's not about the mistakes you make, rather how you deal with them. I'll never forget going to see the Chili Peppers at Manchester and seeing Flea drop in a couple of bum notes, scuffed a few as well. Happens to all of us!

The head should slide out after removing the screws on top of the combo, you'll probably need to make a lid for it though as i don't think Hartke put them on the amps in combos. It'll just be the standard HA3500 in there, great amps! Don't take a saw to it, cabs are specifically designed and tuned to give good results. Sticking 2 speakers in a box will probably sound disappointing. Your best bet is to flog the combo and buy what you need i reckon There's 2 Hartke 2x10 Transporter cabs on sale here for £120 the pair, have a look at those maybe? Happened to me a while ago, think it was a dodgy lead as one of my Planet Waves failed a couple of gigs later. Only happened the once in over a year of solid gigging, i always DI from m MXR M80 anyway so even if something did fail i'd still have bass through the PA

Parcelforce = no. I received a bass via PF48 and it took nearly a week, I use Interparcel as they're cheap and extra insurance doesn't cost the earth. Only had one problem with them, when i received a cab and the crossover had developed a fault, the risk you take i think. All couriers will handle boxes quite roughly and i've used them since Parcelbee are also very cheap

I can agree too. Basses like that are purely a luxury, like saying how can you spend X amount on a car when you can get one for half the price, it's being a member of an elite club whilst at the same time paying a master craftsman a lot of money for building you an excellent example of a product. I have 3 great basses, all worthy of big gigs. One was £598 new, the others were £250 and £750 2nd hand. I tend to lust after more standard basses (Warwicks, nice Jazzes etc.) and personally think Gus basses are ugly as hell, i wouldn't play one if they were £400 because i'd look a tw@t. For those that like 'em though nothing else will do

Not guaranteeing great results, it is a quick and cheap method if done carefully though
