If it's genuine then this bass may have been played on a few more Jethro Tull albums. Dave Pegg's son filled the bass chair on a couple of them including Catfish Rising .
Again if it is genuine then this is a piece of British bass history and should be snapped up!
Ten grand for a '62 precision with good provenance? Easy! -
One here:

Could just de-fret one? I don't think it's too difficult and would widen your options. -
To be fair you could tune so that you could play an entire gig one handed, leaving the other hand free for Saxon style air pointing.
Also i thought Tennessee basses were usually a couple of hundred dollars? This is over $3000! -
At least it doubles up as a cheese grater or vegetable mandolin
From every review i've read on Tennessee basses i think cutting cheese would be too much strain for the dodgy construction to take!
Check out the bridge! I wonder what it intonates like? -
Oh and Mighty Mite necks are very nice, i like the one i have on my fretless. If you like ebanol as a fingerboard material then i suppose any bass with a compatible neck pocket would be a candidate. They're very cheap, around £80 new and £40-£50 used usually.
I'd imagine a CV Jazz with a Mighty Mite neck would be a sweet bass for not a lot of cash.
Could flog the old neck too -

This looks gorgeous IMO, well under budget but you don't have to spend a fortune to get something great -
Yup. I expect we all are.
S.P.
Aw, it was a bit of an anticlimax in the end, i was expecting a massive 30+ page internet flame war! -
This would do the trick:

Very nice pedals -
Good one urb, congrats!
That's as may be - but who can put a price on pixie dust?
Pixies? -
+1 for CH Guitars, great service and reasonable pricing
£55 for a 5m cable?
That's £40 worth of soldering then!
As it takes around 10 minutes to make an excellent quality cable that's £240 an hour! -
Result!
Looks like new now, whoever chose to paint it black needs a stern talking to methinks! -
Hehe, I came very close to buying this, I was debating it for a long time! It looked like a gorgeous bass.
It ended up going to Sweden i think, new owner is very happy with it. It's silly how little Warmoths go for 2nd hand considering the premium quality components, makes buying one more personal i suppose as you're more likely to hang on to it! -
I actually used to own a pretty close example. I would probably have changed the fingerboard to ebony
Walnut Jazz body with Pau Ferro neck and fingerboard, lined fretless.
Seymour Duncan Lightning Rods to a vol/vol/tone, all black hardware inc. Gotoh bridge and Schaller tuners and straplocks
Was awesome, i'm missing it now! -
If someone wants a black one with a badass II and Seymour duncan active pickup, I will match this price.
Now that's a good deal, someone bite his hand off! -

Sunburst with black scratchplate -
Ace pedals these, loads of good OD sounds in there
They were over £120 originally too -
I actually think Korea/China maybe Indonesia are able to mass-produce instruments to a higher standard than anyone out there. They've got more experience in dealing with huge numbers whilst still maintaining impeccable quality control.
The only thing that disappoints me about the new Korean Warwicks is the price, they should be a good deal cheaper IMO -
Surely if they do that, it would make the new 2010 model Rockbasses obsolete?
The only concernable difference between the new rockbasses that arent released here yet, and the German ones are that they arent made in Germany. If German basses arent made in Germany anymore, surely they will just be Rockbasses.
A MIM or CIJ Fender is still a Fender though, isn't it? Seem to remember Fender also making certain series (Lite Ash?) in Korea with an authentic F-Badge.
I bet all those Lakland, G&L and Musicman owners with non-USA unstruments still call identify their basses by the relevant brand, even if they haven't been anywhere the original factory!
I actually hope Warwick keep the bulk of their basses German made, purely for historical reasons - it's always nice to have a German 'Wick. The pics of the new Rockbasses and the Korean Pro Series Corvette look excellent though, i'd certainly buy one if they were the right price (which is doubtful) and i didnt have 2 German Warwicks already.
Them Koreans are getting a bit good at making basses. Less troublesome EU law causing difficulties too. Not unappealing to a manufacturer I'd guess. Deciding quality will drop due to having slantier eyed workers seems a bit racist.
That top one looks really nice, starting to get scared that i might be a closet Status fan now!
Also, who is NAS? -

This looks good too... with the 1x15 it's currently paired with, or possibly with the Eden 2x12?
YOu lot got me thinking with your comments on the LMII with the Eden you see, and then I found a really big thread on here singing the praises of the GenzBenz Shuttle6...
Tempted by such a teeny little lightweight thing...
That looks ace, buy that! A lot of rig for the money and no backache at all. I gigged for years with various half and full stacks (like a lot of people on here), i genuinely believe my current lightweight rig sounds better and goes louder than anything i've had before. For me it was a breath of fresh air not having to cart a ton of gear around, i can carry my bass, amp, cab and lead bag in one trip from the van.
Also keep in mind a single efficient cab will most likely be all you ever need, unless you're playing huge places with no decent monitors. I've done very large stages with the rig in my sig below and it's always been more than loud enough.
Another point, with that Genz rig and the Eden cab you'll get your money back fairly quickly if you decide to sell it on. Lightweight/compact gear always shifts as plenty of people are looking to downsize so it holds it's value well. -
Just like Martin said... Get Status to make it - Like the one in this picture!
Is that a Status?
Looks ace, maybe i am 47 years old after all!
Seriously though, that looks beautiful, although i'm a total sucker for f-holes -
A drummer friend of mine does cruise work, has done for the last 8 years!
He manages to put away a hefty amount of money, all his food and accomodation is paid for. I should say he mainly does big band stuff and also plays in a small jazz band so the money might be different
I got offered cruise work a few months ago after posting on joinmyband, the band who messaged me all said the money was good and that was just party/covers stuff
