1. I actually deleted my post as i skimmed the listing and thought the 500 was the price you wanted! After i re-read the post i realised it's a bit of a price gap and i can't afford any part exes at the moment.

    Lovely bass though!

  2. I have 2 broken pedals that were left in our old practice room before it was knocked down. We soon realised how much knackered gear had accumulated in the 2 years we were there! I hate throwing stuff away but am getting sick of the sight of these so.....

One is a Nobels eq/boost. This works fine but is a bit crackly and noisy. The battery cover is missing and it's a bit battered but hey, it's free! Bass, treble and level controls

The other is a Danelectro Milkshake Chorus. Don't think this works, it powers on but you can't get a usable sound out of it and the knobs are missing (you can still turn the pots though). Could be good for spares something.

If no-one wants em they'll end up in the bin on next Wednesday!

  3. Hi all

I'm selling my Wren & Cuff Pickle Pie. It's the one with the mid switch but not the "B" version. Still sounds great with bass though

With the Mid switch mod they're $190, not including shipping which is $10. However the mid switch on mine is stuck in one position. Don't know how this happened, it's been in storage for a few weeks, i got it out to compare it with another pedal and the switch won't move!

The pedal still works but i guess it needs a new switch. I have taken some photos of the inside.

Don't know if it's a common part but here's a brief description of the switch:

    It's a 2 way unit with 3 contacts (only 2 are used)
On one side it says MTS - 1 (or "I")
On the other side it says 6A 125VAC tthen 3A 250VAC

That's about as techy as i get i'm afraid!

    I'm thinking £55 posted?

Obviously if you get it and it's totally buggered then ya can have a refund, it's completely working apart from the switch AFAIK, sound fair?

Please no Paypal, cheque is fine. Don't want to give them any money if i can help it!

  4. Just plugged mine in for the first time (Guitar Village, linky above, £76 delivered)

    First impressions? It's extremely good!

With the Sub switch on 3 (full) it has a ton of bass, you can turn the fuzz right up (the manual told me to!) and it's well defined

I used the Impedance knob from totally counter clockwise to about 12 o'clock, any further with an 18v pre and it became less like my idea of a fuzz but still sounded cool and very edgy

What i currently like most about it is that (because of the Sub switch) you can have the tone knob set anywhere and still retain loads of bass in the signal. IMLE with a bass fuzz, even one with a blend control, it's usually a compromise getting the sound you want with one that sits in a mix and cuts through in the right areas. I'm itching to gig this pedal as it promises to deliver the goods in a live situation!

It's also a lot smaller than i expected, about the same size as an EHX Nano pedal

Only negative so far is that the Sub switch is tiny and doesn't feel too sturdy, it's also wedged right inbetween the Volume and Tone knobs so my fat fingers can't get to it without messing these two settings up. Think i'll just leave it on full though....

  5.
Just buy a Nano Small Stone phaser, I got mine for only £38 new online! You could try to build your own but it's a lot of components to squeeze onto a small board.
+1

Mine was £40 delivered off here. Cracking little Phaser

Persevere with the sale of tour Nano Clone, someone will grab it! I sold my original Clone on here not so long ago

  6. An hour or thereabouts, that includes lights and full PA pluys the first round and cigarette.

We usually give ourselves an extra hour just incase an amp has failed, speaker is farting etc.

Being late is one thing, being unprepared is another!

  7. I'll always recommend the Owen Bass Gremlin if you can find one. Very versatile and natural sounding pedal.

I use the MXR M80 for overdrive, although it's also a clean boost and a DI box. The blend control works really well, you don't lose any low end and keep your tone. It's clear and cuts really well

    That first review is hilarious!

"I called Howard Dumble. Caught him on his cell phone while he was pinching a loaf in his Las Vegas hotel room."

"I play the piccolo and drums in a three piece suitcoat of paint band aid. We do all sorts of music from yugoslavic folk ballads to super heavy bloody and gutsy death and gerbil to rectum METAL. Mostly in a religious setting."

  9. At a guess i'd say pretty awesome, combined with quality leads and a decent amp obviousy.

I think there was a similar bass in the... ahem... for sale section..... ahem.... not so long ago......

In all seriousness the Walnut body (probably) will weigh a ton, contributing to thunky lows. The neck will be nice and stable (Warmoths have the steel rods going on and Wenge is a preferred choice for necks, early Warwicks?) and the 'board will be the dog's proverbials (all theoretical of course). Certainly looks nice! Have to say the overall sound depends more on the pickup/pre choice rather than the woods. The wood does play a part though, esp. on a fretless.

My Warmoth is a very heavy bass, i think the density of the woods used lends it a more P ish tone than most Js. I always had to dig in a bit more at the bridge to get the typical Jazz sound but it is there. The trade off is massive low end on all the strings. This is the bassiest bass i've had with even lows across the 'board. I'd definitely get a Walnut bodied bass again (funds permitting), plus it looks gorgeous!
