The market has picked up a bit now, SUBs are going for nearer £400 and Rays aren't going for sily money any more. Even when there was a lull in the market i saw a SUB with flightcase go on eBay for well over £400

Even if it was just for a spare bass i'd probably score this if it was in my area. I've paid more than £30 for a set of strings! I recently bought a cheapy to use as a back up, it's great not having to cart an extra flightcase and stand to gigs. I can leave it leaning against the wall and not care if it gets marked up, as long as it works if my main bass goes down it's worth it's weight in gold. Plus the one i bought sounds sweet, don't think i'll ever take 2 expensive basses to gigs again!

It's handy when your drummer decides to increase volume, you can boost the treble or mids during a song so you can hear yourself better. It's also sometimes useful to have some sort of pre amp in front of your pedals if that's your thing. I use the DI on my MXR pedal so if my amp fails i still have FOH, ths way i can still have the tone i want going through the PA and can also eq my amp for purely onstage sound Plus they're just nice to have!

If you've got a good LMS that's decent, honest and not too pricey then you're in an enviable position. We're fast running out of those where i live. Most seem to be opportunists now, displaying stock with no price tags and making prices up on the spot based on how much they think they can get out of you. I showed a lot of loyalty to one shop in particular (about £3,500 woth of loyalty) only to be repaid with botched repair jobs, ordering incorrect items and refusing to take them back (cos i didn't have the original carton the cab came in) and ripping off a few of my mates.

I bought a set ages ago because Jason Newsted used them. Thought i could get his meaty sound without the Sadowsky and massive rig! They sounded great but i broke one a week into using them.

I don't currently play in an originals band so it wouldn't bother me. I'd rather the other lads got paid and had a good night, recently we had to cancel a gig (private party with 200 guests) on the same day because of a guitarist's injury, we were gutted and the hosts were less than impressed. Wish we had a dep to call!

Yeah it is, i've not had it long at all. Basically i needed a bass which i could leave lying around and not really bother about. Saw that one and sort of convinced myself to buy it! However it's a bit too nice (no chips or anything, shop condition) so i bought a £45 beater as a spare. It's been re-strung and played a few times and that's it

I love my MXR M80. Had an EBS but it was a bit too polite sounding for me. I also a/b'd it with a mates' EBS and mine was quieter and sounded better!

I'm selling the Cort Curbow 5 i got on here a cuple of weeks ago, it's got a new set of Elites on it (there were only 4 rusty strings on when i got it!) and is in great condition. Bought it as a backup but have since got a cheap Jazz to cover that, this was too nice to leave in the van Luthite body in crazy-ass gold finish Ebanol fretboard Bartolini AMK1-4/F Pickup Bartolini MK-2 EQ, 3 band job with slap contour switch Both the eq gain and slap are adjustable via trim pots on the backplate. Would like £170 plus postage (i paid £160 plus postage and had to buy strings for it) Also have a spare set of Elites for it at £15 too

I think BudgetBassist is selling his for a very good price. They're nice basses, i gigged my housemate's SUB a few times (now belongs to waynepunkdude) and you'll definitely be heard in a band mix. As previously said, a proper Musicman for silly money, there's not much difference between these and a Ray apart from the appearance. Just change that pickguard!

It was the opposite for me, i tried a Rockbass Corvette in a shop and thought "wow, nice neck!". Had a quick play on it and was so impressed at the quality and range of sounds it could do that i ordered the German Warwick version there and then (for £150 more )

I have these spare so they might as well go to a good home There's 4 machine heads complete with screws, the ferrule parts that pushes into the headstock aren't included but apart from that they work fine Postage is free, cos i'm nice like that! Ta Steve

Tbh i'd have the bass with gigbag for £30, anything else would be a bonus

I like a nice Jazz but i'm gonna have to go with more modern designs. Although all my favourite "modern" basses seem to be from the nineties.... Must be getting old!

I've a bass and treble knob cover for a Warwick stacked pot somewhere (black), give us a shout if you need it, i bought it in error so i have no use for it

I tried one of the SG shaped basses a while ago, it was very tidy and the low B was great. Think that had EMGs in it though
