Haha, reminds me, must brush up on my Photoshop skills!

The Ampeg would do the trick!
Alternatively look at the Sansamp or MXR M80 pedals. I use an M80 to mimic an overdriven head and it does the trick, you can blend the two signals so you keep the low end. -
Don't suppose you fancy a trade for my Fretless Warmoth Custom?
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=44102
I was originally offered this Fortress as a trade for my Warmoth but declined at the time, changed my mind just after you had got it! -
Think Schnozzalee has some damn nice Corts for sale/trade
-
This looks fantastic now! It's gone from 80s cheese to modern day class in one fell swoop!
I thought it looked horrid in the original photos (gold hardware on orange/red paint?) but find it quite desirable now
How much did you originally pay if you don't mind me asking? -
I had a similar problem with a couple of pedals, turns out i wasn't using a regulated power supply, just a generic cheapie. Tried it with a proper Boss one and all was good!
-
If i want to mod something and don't have the tools/skill to do it right then i'd take it to someone who could. For one less night on the pop i'd have a bass i'd be far happier with which would have a higher resale value
I agree that it's his bass and he has every right to do what he wants, unfortunately that includes slapping a silly price tag on it
Until we see a shot of the bass with the offending pickup surround removed we can't be too sure of his honesty RE the listing either as this could well be disguising poor work. Who knows though, it may be an accurate routing! -
I like it . (I'm gassing JPs at the mo) But isn't he asking too much for what it is?
Way too much IMO!
If the body didn't have the extra pickup (and hideous surround) then it wouldn't seem too bad.
Wonder what the odds are on there being a massive, sloppily routed hole under that surround? -
Having gear stolen is a truly horrible feeling, comiserations man and hope you are reunited with it
Might be worth moving to the dedicated stolen basses sticky:
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=29204
Might also be of use to put the town it was stolen in the title, more likely to get the attention from those who may be offered it
Good luck getting it back -
Don't forget to check Zoot basses out, mine's a beaut
I'd like to add that i traded a Warmoth for a Corvette $$ 5 string recently so its entirely possible.
I got offered your old Warmoth Tele as a trade for this so looks like it's come full circle! Was very tempted as i know you spoke highly of that bass, just i'm a bit more inclined to modern basses
The Warwick i'm mainly after is a nice Fortress which i think is a fair trade for this beasty -
1. A decent news section - for example, if someone in editorial had a glance through this (or other) forum, they'd be aware of what's going on at Barefaced Bass/ACG/DHA etc etc
+1 on that
The news sections in these magazines is usually just another couple of pages of thinly veiled advertisements, mostly for stuff i don't want or need. Before i joined this site i had no idea half the luthiers in this country existed, pretty worrying as i used to read 2/3 music mags a month -
All Pms replied, cheers guys!

Hi all
Due to a bit of double booking confusion between me and our drummer (it's always his fault though) i could do with finding a replacement band for an annual ball. It's an army do so not too formal (they booked us cos we aren't the usual old wedding band codgers), should be a riot. One we were looking forward to playing but it seems our drummer had booked us in for a civil partnership function so meh
Possibility of follow up gigs too if they like ya.
It's 18-50s so a variety of material would be ideal, we do older 60s/70s, a bit of TRex and Beatles, then more modern stuff later on (Kings of Leon, Killers etc.)
Any takers? Pm me with details and i'll pass them on
Cheers!
Steve
On the 11th July (IIRC) btw, i'll get that checked soon as! -
-
Give Prosebass on here a shout if you haven't found a builder yet. I also hear Wizard do custom wound pickups (hopefully someone will clarify that!)
-
Apologies if you've already checked but are the bridge saddles adjusted so spacing is at the widest?
I always found Warwicks spacious enough at the business end with the saddles at their max spacing, was the first thing i did when i got mine! -
It happened to me once during a gig. Luckily both my stage basses have a passive switch (idiot proof!) so no major drama.
I get GP batteries on discount if i buy a box, unfortunately taking a box of batteries to a rehearsal attracts the attention of your guitarist who after seeing it will never ever buy a battery again knowing he can just scrounge off you! -
What a coincidence! I have a slab of walnut and a plank of pau ferro waiting to be turned into a bass. Cool to get an idea of what it might look like when it's done, cheers for that
I saw another on a Warmoth gallery site pretty much identical to mine except for an unlined Ebony fingerboard. I actually thought mine looked nicer with the Pau Ferro board, keeps the uniform colours and all that.
I think it's a very attractive and simple combination of woods, Pau Ferro is esp. nice IMO. -
Er... not really.
I have been offered a 90s Warwick for this, also another bass which sold on here for around £600. Also a higher end Cort 6er amongst others
I stated £800 as the NEW price, not what i expect. I think £450+ is reasonable for this bass
Don't agree with breaking it for parts either. The Warmoth necks i've seen on here in the last few months have been on a while, struggling to make over £100 and not many people have money to spare.
I'm in no rush to sell it, so was wondering if others on here fancied a trade. I think more folk than you might imagine would part with a Warwick for this given the sums they exchange hands for now
Steve -
Nay one? Been offered a couple of very nice basses but still holding out for a nice Warwick to complement my 'Vette
-
Not usually a fan of singlecuts but that look superb.
Want one!
Like the middle fretboard from the previous pic too. Getting GAS now.... -
Yeah it was for me too. I had one of their earlier models as my main gigging bass for a year or so and it didn't behave well at all on the strap.
Sounded beautiful though, plugged or unplugged. Got some great recordings out of it.
Was it you who put the youtube video up with the Godin in? If so that sounded smooooooth! -
I use a Diago pedalboard which is very durable (should be it weighs quite a bit)
They do one that is the size of a guitar case if you've got a lot of pedals but they do custom builds too

Read an interview that said he took the G string off all together. His tech also said that he pours water over himself on stage a lot, leading to the pickups in his TBird losing output.
I thnk his tech was a bit annoyed with him for that as he said the pickups are hard to source. He also said Mark's not very good in music stores and refuses to try out pedals he suggests. He said Mark only uses a certain Boss pedal (forget which) but won't use the new ones, meaning his tech has to constantly look for old pedals as he goes through a few every tour
