1.
yeah I know how that feels. I must have the record for bumps
I delete mine now so it doesn't look as bad!
2.
Is there anyone you're not going to offer it to?
Looks like it's gone now! It was my only pedal left for sale/trades so had to whore it out to the whole of BC hoping for a buyer Times is hard!
3. Fancy a px on my dunlop bass wah? It's up for £65
4. Be cheeky and ask if they can sort you out with a loaner while yours is being fixed. Aim for the most expensive bass in the shop!
5. Try a semi acoustic bass? Tanglewood do a version of their Warrior, Ibanez do one as do Yamaha and Aria (arabassist had a nice one for sale for a little over £100 a while ago). The one that struck me was the Dean Rhapsody (think that's what it was called...), they also do a fretless version too. 6.
how many are familiar with acoustics and if so what kind of volume and tone do they have without using any onboard electrics and preamps recommendations would be fine in the mid price category and do they need bronze strings?? thanks
Most of the cheaper to mid priced ones lack a lot of bass on the low E, purely due to the physics of producing that low end. I've got an old cheapy (£160 ten years ago!) and it sounds pretty decent with bronze strings. Always fancied the Michael Kelly ones. There was a Takamine for sale here not so long ago, don't think it sold and it was a bargain
7. I always thought the epi pickups sucked too. Think the EMG HZ soapbar style pups would be a suitable replacement, great rock tone with none of the TBird mud
8. Cracking basses for the money these, I had the darker cherry one and was well impressed with the build quality. Surprisingly good hardware too If it doesn't sell here get it on ebay. I put mine on for £90 BIN and it went within half an hour
9. Ah cool, should be ok then! Cheers dude!
10. Ah i should be ok then, think the Lifebook Cs were P3s. I'm sat typing on an old Lifebook B2154 at the moment (it's a 450mhz celeron). Stuck Puppy Linux on it and it flies! Bought it for £29 and stuck a wireless card in it. Think it's a bit under specced for recording though...
11. Just Moving by the Southside Movement EDIT: Sparrow on the Schoolyard Wall by Jethro Tull. In fact, any Jethro Tull!
12.
I'm clueless about software like so a little help please. Can you run this as a stand alone or is it a plug in whereby you need other software to run it ?? I have a fairly decent pcmcia sound card on the lappy with a mic/instrument input which i sometimes use for jamming along to music. If i got this software will it run on it's own,ie with the bass plugged into the sound card. Also could i then plug the lappy into a bass amp ?? Told you i was a dumbass hehe.
What spec is your laptop? Wanna know if i can run this on mine: 1.6 Celeron M 360 2gig ram M Audio 4/4 usb interface I've always suffered latency so bought the interface (struggled with compatibility issues with my old Tascam) hoping this will sort it out
13. Mine cut out a couple of gigs ago and came back in 2 mins later. It's been fine since though and the venue is know for dodgy mains power. Funny thing is the blue light was still on, yet i tried my bass directly into the amp and still nothing. Fingers crossed though! Also i use decent quality kettle lead from an old bass amp I think waynepunkdude is currently running the black market in kettle leads so why not give him a shout?
14.
hey lemmywinks - ok, how about £20 posted, and paypal on me. I just wanted some kebab and beer money
Done! I'll send you my details etc. How about i just send you a kebab and a can through the post? Salad and sauce on your kebab?
15. What sort of price were you looking at? I'm interested but have no clue as to what to offer Need a USB interface for my laptop as i have really bad latency problems using the onboard sound
16. Even if you don't like em you can blag them and sell them on here unused. Then put the money to some decent (IMHO) strings! Winner winner!
17. Bought mine from the pound shop too, it's rubbish! Here in Blackpool we have awesome pound shops (cos it's full of dossers), bought an optical mouse the other day and it's really good. A quid!
18. I've got a Hartke VX215 for sale for £90 500w @ 4ohms, 2x15" drivers Stick a LH500 on top of that and bob's your proverbial!
19. Bought my already much missed Jaco tribute, a pleasure to deal with and kept me informed throughout. Top bloke, lovely cat!
20.
Funnily enough , some bloke from round your way's sending me a fretless Jazz so when it arrives I'll try it through the Moen!!
Haha, i got a Small Clone through today, was regretting sending that bass so early as it would have sounded the nuts through the chorus! Reckon you should have that Jazz tomorrow, enjoy!
21. Our guitarist is after a Power Bank, i'll ring him for you. Per chance he also has a Boss Chorus (guitar one) so he'll be up for a p/x or swapsies. I'll let you know what he says EDIT: Oh and what's the Moen pedal like, good with bass?
22.
...for starting the campfire?
Haha, or use it to banjo any noisy campers!
23. Fancy a p/x on the Soundcard for my (here it comes!) Jim Dunlop 105q Bass Wah?
24. If you want an acoustic bass to take camping or something i reckon it'd be ok. Just don't expect a beautiful woody sound, and expect to have to spend some time making it decent
