2. Prices dropped and available again because of local timewaster!
3. Haha, sorry dudes. About as appealing as a left-handed stepson. Better?
4.
and the bass is hideous.
+1 About as appealing as a ginger stepson..........
5. I took up classical guitar as a fun hobby, really enjoyed it but am not consistent enough to play it live. Too much intricate work for my clumsy fat fingers! So i guess you could say i'm a competent bass player turned failed guitarist!
6. BUMP for a bargain, just had to back out of this deal and it's a crazy price for an immense head.
7.
bummer! just as my cabs were being sold... andy
See if this guy's cab is still available: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...l=times+is+hard £300? Winner!
8.
Aargh! I want an XO PolyChorus. And an XO Deluxe Memory Man. That would make the EHX range perfect. Do these new models run off 9V? My big problem with a lot of old EHX pedals is that you need a different power supply for each one.
Diago do leads for most pedals including the EHX pedals with the tiny jacks and different power requirements (usa big muff, 18v and black big muff etc.). Not cheap but convenient. I guess you could have some made up? My local electronics shop does stuff like that as i know a guy who works there, they don't like doin it though as it's not worth the mate's rate's i pay em!
9. Not had that problem but had one set of LaBella strings where the core of the E arrived damaged so the string sounded rubbish. At first they asked me to return it but after stressing i had a gig in 2 days they sent me a replacement. Then had an E string from a set of Warwick strings break (at the bridge) whilst tuning it up for the first time, wasn't even up to the required pitch. Then (i know...) i bought some Elites from them and the bottom 40cm of the strings were slightly rusted. Having whinged i must say i ordered quite regularly from them, but 3 mishaps sort of put me off a bit. The first two incidents suggest they sell below par strings, the third makes me think they'd been lying around in a damp warehouse for a few weeks proir to being shipped
10.
ive had those times too that ppl thought i was gay (not in gigs though)... i kinda do look a bit feminine... here's an old pic of mine where i looked like some gay anime character... either that, or james iha *lol*
Before i scrolled down and read the rest of the post i thought that WAS James Iha! Don't own a dog called Bug do you?
11. I had the same problem with my Warwick Corvette. Not too bad for the odd little bit but for when we needed a slap line in a bass-dominated tune (can't stop by the chilis etc.) it was unworkable. I solved it easily by using the eq switch on my old Hartke VXL pedal which boosted the signal. Since selling that i've bought a clean boost (from this site) which is even better, plus i can use it for other stuff where the bass needs to be more prominent. Your first port of call should be having quiet word with the sound guy, a bass light mix is just not on! EDIT: Just a thought, i remember my corvette had a very low output for an active bass, was the standard 2 band MEC circuit. Didn't have the same problem with a MM SUB bass i used when my warwick was in the shop. Might be typical of the circuit?
12. Had the same problem with my diago board. Was thinking about making a wooden riser for the two pedals affected as stated above but couldn't be bothered, so ordered some leads with right angle jacks from obbm, just lift the pedals up a bit when i plug em in or position the pedals so there's enough room to insert the jacks Seems like a design flaw on an otherwise top pedal board
13. I'd stay away from the Squier affinity series and look for the standard ones, better quality all round, esp the pickups. I tried a Squier affinity jazz and it was ugh I'm sellin mine if you fancy it, £130 plus case http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...t=0#entry256596
14. I've got a russian big muff and think it sounds awesome tbh. Preffered it to the MXR blowtorch i had and only stopped using it cos it's noisy, hopefully this is getting sorted soon.
15. I've got an old Zoot, it's the tits! Which one you gettin?
16. Warmoth J necks are traditionally fuller than standard J type necks. Before i bought mine i did a bit of research on the web and it's quite well known, some people are very put off by it. However i've never been bothered by thicker necks (i've played warwicks for a few years) so i bought it and it's a lovely neck and certainly comfortable to play Not sure on the spec of mine but it's chunkier than both my jazzes (a squier standard and a home-made fretless) here's some more opinions: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...+Bass+Neck/10/1

18. I hate it when i see these, always makes me wonder what it was!
19. My Zoot every time, one day i'll be classy enough for it!
