1. Cool, i'll take it! Have to cut the budget on Mrs. Lemmywinks' crimbo present now! Pm me about details, payment etc. Cheers Steve
2. Bought my missus a new laptop for £62.50 inc post. 2.2ghz celeron, 512mb ram and 60gig hard drive. All it needed was a new kettle lead for the charger and a cdrw drive (£3.19 posted, ebay again!). Replaces her old 1.2ghz lappy which was £52.50 posted, off ebay! Best bargain i saw in recent months bass-wise was a short scale encore in good nick, went for £9 as it was pick up only in sheffield. Don't suppose many o them steel workers have much use for a shorty bass......................
3. Is the tonepump vol, blend, bass, treble? Lookin for a drop in curcuit for my jazz
4. I think you can get the same quality for much less money. My Zoot is an English luthier built instrument, made from select woods etc. and cost me little over £700 with a flightcase. Ditto Shuker stuff at the moment. The reason Wals command astronomical prices is the same reason old fenders sell for thousands, demand outweighs supply, although i know which i would choose if i had £3000 to spend on a bass! Still sound awesome though!
5.
It's got some wierd proportions, but...MMMMMMMMMMMM!!! Kinda like the way Fern Brittain would get one...
6. Used to have one of these in black (my second ever bass!), paid £90 for it too! It's quite a decent bass although getting on a bit now. The output was quite weak and the J pickup was an inferior unit. The inlays look nice from a distance but are surrounded in acres of filler! Apart from that it's perfectly serviceable, probably better deals out there now though There was no model number on it, just "Dean" written on the headstock. However have an old bass book with it in which i'll dig out if anybody wants to know the model number. Sold it for £50 and 4 sets of Elites to my local dealer!
7. I had a nightmare last night where i turned up to a gig and opened my bass cases, in one was this and in the other was a bongo!
8. Had the '77 version of this, can confirm it is indeed a beast!
9. Just bought one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=200272155425 £40 quid delivered and recommended by a basschatter, no wheels but folds flat!
10. Also it's a pre-owned bass and he's listing it as new, thought that was against ebay rules? I've sold a mint condition, never gigged bass that didn't have the slightest scratch in the finish as used purely because it was!
11.
damn you and your undercutting prices!
Haha, sorry! This is what i paid for it though and don't want any more as i only bought it recently
12.
If the pickups are too loud, couldn't you just lower them?
There wasn't much scope for lowering them, they just had a stupidly high output anyways so don't think it would have made much of a difference. Played a shine guitar which was the same, nearly impossible to get a clean sound out of it with the volume anyway near full
13. I used to have one of these, paid £120 for it new and sold it for £90 on ebay Mine was a nicer dark cherry finish and had an extra pot (2xvol, bass, mid and treb) It wasn't pants at all, although it wasn't by any means desirable. The pickups were much too loud and you had to roll them back to get a decent sound. The hardware was surprisingly decent, i remember the bridge in particular looked well made and chunky. It was a double truss rod neck and seemed like a "proper" 6er, tbh i was expecting to find all sorts of shortcomings when i got it home but it was pretty good At this price you can't go wrong really! Sniff out some better pickups and it'd be a winner EDIT: That Squier was a standard too! Someone got a bargain...
14. Got this from thisnameistaken a while back but have set my sights on an M80 and don't have the pedalboard space for this It has only 1 battery cover and the other is held together by velcro but i just removed the feet and stuck 2 strips of velcro on it as it has lived in a pedalboard. It comes with an 18v power supply and has it's original box. It works a treat and sounds huge, i gigged it for the first time last week and it got a lot of good comments, cuts really well through the mix and has loads of features including 3 band eq, blend, 3 way mid shift and of course the torch on/off switch on the side I'm looking for what i paid for it - £75 posted (i think) so if anyone fancies it give me a shout. Ideally you'll have an M80 to swap though........... Cheers Steve
15. The Schroeder 1212r/1212l has one speaker angled away from the cab, i stand mine on it's side as in the photo above and it gives an even spread of sound all over the stage and plenty out front. I'm looking into getting a horizontal amp stand to raise it a bit if i need to: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GIRAFFE-CLICK-SYSTEM...%3A1|240%3A1318
16. Notice he tells you what he paid for his ray but not what he paid for this...........
17.
Skint at the moment but think I might be tempted as it would complete my "home practice pa" that at the moment stands me at nothing ( mixer and amp ) Travel is ok as well
A home practice PA? Good work son! I'm moving in with Mrs. Lemmywinks next year, she won't know what hit her................
18.
That's in 12 different languages. Jon.
I've always wanted to learn guitar in Urdu...........
19. My mate paid nearly £900 for his 1x15 evo when they first came out years ago, right after he bought it they upped it to 500w (his is 300w) and lowered the price! Sounds bloody awful too, i gigged with it a few times and wished i could take off all the buttons and sliders and add a "better and louder" switch. Oh and it's too heavy too!
20. +1 Our guitarist has a tilted one and it works a treat. I have a head and cab though so would need a horizontal one. Any recommendations?
21. I think this guy can beat that! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...52BSI%26otn%3D4 £58 quid for guitar package? By the looks of things you get a tuner, lead and strap too although that's just on the picture and not listed
22. The only time in my life i have wished i was left handed................... Have a Zoot with the same electrics and it rules live, go on, gig it!!!!!!!
23. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ZENNOX-ELECTRIC-BASS...%3A1|240%3A1318 Wish gear was this cheap when i was learning to play...............
24.
hey! yeah ive got a mesa but it only pushes out the 750w when running a 2ohm cab, 500w when running a 4ohm cab and around 300w when running an 8 ohm cab! the hartke is 8 ohms and it seemed plenty loud enough! if im honest we're not a really loud band, i dont seem to need to have the amp master volume much past 10 oclock! and yeah its just for rehearsals at the moment as i have my aguilar DB410 for gigs! that looks like a cracking deal on ebay by the way!!
Sounds like your sorted then! I agree with steve in that you might get one cheaper if you look around, however this one is mint, it's already in your rehearsal room and you can pay in interest free instalments so that sweetens the deal! I used a VX215 as my rehearsal cab for ages out of pure laziness as i could leave it at the practice room and wish i could still do that, miss just taking a bass and head to practice
