Hipshot 2 point bridge-Epi Thunderbird VP nightmare
lemmywinks replied to michael2003x's topic in Repairs and Technical
Yeah just noticed the VP bit in the title after I'd posted. I hate bridge/tailpiece arrangements for bass (except the Warwick ones which work properly) even more than the 3 point, there's just no need for 'em! -

Sonicake B Factory preamp/DI for £36 delivered via Sonicake eBay store
lemmywinks replied to lemmywinks's topic in Effects
Hopefully should be getting a refund via eBay after jumping through loads of hoops. Annoyingly they acknowledged I hadn't received the item after showing them the CCTV and forwarding an email from Evri confirming it was "lost" yet required me to go through more CS idiocy with both eBay and Evri (a painful experience) before there was any chance I'd actually get my money back. Not great. -

Was probably the one the Evri driver nicked off me! -
It's a bit like us buying Harley Bentons on whim, only with Metallica money and a job that entails travelling the world with two guys who are also complusive guitar collectors that visit every music store they can.

He had a period of illness and then the obligatory post-injury painkiller addiction that Americans have but he looks well in the video. I think this is just the tip of his guitar collecting iceberg tbh, basically thinning the herd but everything is crazy rare and valuable!

Very rare prototype for Tony Levin to use with his finger extension things. Think the original one was lost in a fire.
-
Think it has a BA-TER-RY in the preamp now.

Got this with a recent amp purchase but I'm using a RokSak bag with the amp at the moment instead so this is surplus to requirements. Assume this is for the RH Series, the main compartment is top loading and theres a removable divider. It originally housed a TC BH800 with room to spare. Plenty of pockets for cables and accessories etc, a bit of wear and bobbling on one corner (see pictures) so not perfect but overall good condition. Dunno how much these were originally so I'll go with £20 posted.

He basically has one of everything. Double neck Ric, rare Alembics, original 60s Bass VI, Fender V, Ampeg Scroll, '56 precision, 10 string Alembic. Some crazy money even without the provenance.

Just spotted this, he has some incredible stuff.

Boden Copy, with many detailed upgrades *pricedrop* - *SOLD*

I was mainly put off last year when there wasn't many options for 5 string headless basses with a semi-regular body shape, the one company that did one was Mountain (although they had a few store names) so I watched a video review of one of their guitars. Lovely looking thing, like genuinely stunning but the neck wasn't profiled properly on the 2nd octave and the truss rod access hole at the end of the mini headstock was misaligned. So even as just a shell it needed defretting, the board profiling, a refret and the access hole plugging and redrilling! My mate also ordered a Chibson which has a bump in the fretboard, again not profiled properly. Yours does look great though, I've just put a Uni Pre in a cheap bass with Wilkinsons which sounds phenomenal and made me want one in every bass. -
Then you tell them your relative in Jersey will collect it and the location will change again!

Shetland Isles and other small, more remote places are also commonly used by scammers as they get far fewer victims who can collect. Immediate red flag, worth checking out if you're local though as bargains do exist.

Your best bet might be to just wait it out for a used driver of your choice to show up on eBay, I scored the Basslite in my little 1x10 for £24 by doing this and breathed a massive sigh of relief when I won it! Sucks that you put so much effort in to make a nice cab on the cheap only to be stuck with either using a rubbish replacment driver or spending more than the cab is worth on a decent one.

I mentioned previously that the lad I know took an empty bottle to pee in after his first day. Not mad keen on the idea of parcels being handled right after some guy has precariously peed in a bottle with no real hand washing facilities tbh.

We see the same with basses and guitars where brands can effectively kill off small stores by demanding high levels of stock purchase they can't possibly shift. Many years ago I tried to buy a Squier Jazz and went out of my way to accomodate my local music shop, really nice guy who I always gave my business to. He couldn't get them in and the only equivalent he could get was Vintage or Crafter from his JHS account.

Sonicake B Factory preamp/DI for £36 delivered via Sonicake eBay store
lemmywinks replied to lemmywinks's topic in Effects
I've sent a message, it's shown as delivered with a completely useless picture as "proof". We're on a block of two buildings and the GPS co-ordinates show the right location, I've checked with next door (a woman I've known for 38 years and her brother plays keys with us!) and it isn't there. Fortunately I've checked our cameras and the only time someone entered the property on Saturday was Royal Mail delivering small packages through the letterbox, I sent these screenshots to the Sonicake store. Our old Evri guy was reliable but the new guy is 0 for 2 on deliveries, the first one went to a different street and the neighbour brought it round (checked with that guy earlier and no joy, funnily enough he's a postman) and this just completely missing with a well framed delivery picture that gives nothing away. -

Well looks like I won't be getting this, apparently Evri delivered it to my work address (closed all weekend) on Saturday and no sign of it at all. Photo shows the parcel caeefully framed with absolutely nothing in the background, mainly the address label. So money down the drain thanks to the theiving scum that is our new Evri driver.
